Thanks, that looks lots faster than the FG knot. I’ve gone back to a double uni, but believe I’ll try this soon. Looking for the best for small line. We fish 8 to even 6lb fluorocarbon leaders on Lewis Smith lake due to the clear water. Been having some slippage on the FG knot with smaller leaders. This is 3 over unders with braid inserted and a uni tied. Simple and rated as the strongest. 💯
Your right to use the double uni on a small diameter. That works the best for me too, I finish it with a dot of super glue to smooth the knot ends. Works great with micro guides. The FG just doesnt work on that lighter line.

Why? Every rod and real should be for a specific lure. Glass rods for cranking and so on. Keep your sets indoors and they'll last for years before relining.

This isn’t the gt knot. To tie the real gt knot you first have to double the braid line with a Bimini twist, and that’s also why the gt knot holds basically 100% of the braid breaking strength
So I’m sure by now we all understand that this is not the real GT knot. Although this may work for some people, under most braid to leader conditions, it will slip. Folks just need to be aware that this went viral but is unfortunately just click bait for RU-vidrs. Stick with the FG
People that never fish in their life probably can’t tie this gt knot and probably have learning issue, one of the strongest knot and the strongest knot in testing. Basically it is a uni and a figure 8. Much easier than FG knot to tie when you need to tie something within a minutes.
Really? What weight leader and braid are you using? I use anything up to 30 lbs braid plus 50 lbs leaders and have never had the FG knot get caught in the tip ring.
