Sooo, back in the middle of June, I raced the 24 hour Le Mans race in Gran Turismo 5. I recorded every minute of it, since I wanted to make this video, however, a six week vacation meant that it took a while before I could actually render it all together. Now I'm finally done though.
1 minute in the video is 1 hour in the real race. I also added some music, since it would take forever if I also had to render it with the game sounds (for various reasons). If you don't like it, then just mute the sound.

decided to do this race in f1 car. 5 hours in realized i had no head lights. I've been driving for almost 5 hours in the dark. i could probably complete a lap with my eyes closed almost.

I did the 24 hour race in GT5 over about 4 days, pausing it to sleep. I also gained enough of a lead to leave it running parked for a few hours... They released the patch to save during the race like a week later lol.

The 24 minute video here is 1.75 GB, while the full, real-time 24 hours weigh in at 87.7 GB.

Or in gt4 you can race in the day and let b-spec race the graveyard shift and go to sleep. Why would they take that out of the game.

@@sirkdagamer0853 they should've keep that feature in GT5 and future titles. Because in real life, there's no single driver who will drives 24 non stop without swapping with other drivers. It's not cheating. At least you need to drive for 4 hours then let other drivers in your team drive the car so you have time to rest.

Just Some Microwave With Internet Access 4 hours of Nurburgring is the best XP per Minute... but when you reach 30 try to finish vettel's red bull challenge.

I get very angry when i see this cuz it reminds me... I spent about 23 hrs on a-spec mode doing this race, then 42 minutes left, i get a power-cut. What annoys me more is that power-cuts almst never happen where I live :(

@@jeffsond Yes, in gt6 they turned the 24hrs to 24 minutes, for health and time, in gt4 I did it and took almost 1 day, it was very hard, and for make it faster, I used the B pilot, because had an option that make the time fast.

In a sense. If you concentrate on the race, it's not really a problem, though after a few hours, you kinda focus less on the racing, and more on getting the time to pass, which results in stupid errors. The rain didn't help either.

If you want to make it as easy as possible, go with the Red Bull X2010 or X2011. If you want a challenge that is fun, then go with the Peugeot 908 or a Mazda 787B with lower HP.

Someone probably answered your question already but, theres a "suspend race" option when you enter the pit stop... it saves your time and lap, and quits the game. Next time you put GT5 in, it'll restart same spot you were before.

I don't see what's nerdy in watching a 24-hour race during 24 hours. I was just wanting to see you playing and make your way to the top... There are long plays of games of various lengths, and people (including me) watch them in full, sometimes for more than 24 hours. To each person his/her tastes and preferences. But it doesn't make them "nerdy".

24 hrs for real,you just go to the pit stop,suspend the race and come back,but before the update the only thing that you could do was pause the game,and leave your ps3 on for days.

After you do 372 laps, you can just let the game idle until it comes close to 24 hour mark.

That's pretty hardcore... Anyways, for me, uploading 24 hours of footage is a bit too much. Just an hour in itself would take 20-30 hours to upload on my current internet, so the full 24 hours would take a month :P

my eyes were as they call "bloodshot"which is caused by strain on your eyes causing the veins in your eyes to burst making your eyes red. not harmful though(as i know of, i mean i still have 20/20 vision) they clear up in a couple hours

Agreed! Hell I couldn't race a whole nascar race! Thats like 2 hours! Plus its a lot simpler! No weather change, if its a super speedway like Talledaga or Daytona no brake fade.... and one simple turn, just work with the draft is your main worry!

you can suspend the race at any time, just pit in and save the game, the next time you play GT5 you will start wherever you left the game...

@nAt02015 Not directly because of it, however, I can't rule out the possibility that it may have had an effect on my PS3, even though it first died a few months later. It was pretty old either way, so it was bound to die some time.
