Your not actually the only one to tell me about Yamanaka changing stratergy. I havent expeienced it as yet, but at tsubuka if you change tyres then the leader boards swaps massively. ASM really does help with tyre wear. Dont forget to play on hard, but on controller? Are you on controller? It hard.... controller auto, the hardest control set in my opinion. The 2 stop on mediums with the mazda rx vision might be the ticket for you. Thanks for the feedback and supporting the channel. God luck

@WiddowmakerWho I'm on a fanatec gt dd pro, with transmission in manual. Difficulty is on hard, I checked after the first time Yams went ballistic on me. I don't really like the ASM on corner exit. I have tried with several cars, the 911 is what I prefer. With it, I can get 12 laps on the mediums, but NOT 13! 😂 I'm gonna give it one more go, this time, I'm going to refrain from passing Rubilar until lap 2 or 3 maybe... I won't lie, I do got pretty rough with Rubilar and the rest of the field... maybe it's payback?!😂 I wonder if going elbows out on the AI makes a difference? Hmmm

@TheWrenchLab ahh , I see. Nice wheels! I always abuse the Ai, for past offences. Asm seems to have changed since update 1.31, I would never use it but now… certain cars, scenarios it has a use. Good luck.. go get it!!!

The same story I am starting to hear more and more, an outcome which never happens for me. All I can further recommend, is the e Mazda rx vision, then use the start, restart, restart method till you get a different start of race. See if you can cycle the race to you get an easier start, with maybe Fraga at the front rather than yamanaka in the lead. I’m doing 1 stop on mediums now but using further assists eg counter steer and asm. I can run 1:57,s and a 1:56 on a good lap. The assist don’t slow you down that much. I also think you have to put in an awesome opening lap, and see if you can get ahead of Rubilar before the end of lap one. Go faster off the line, bump the aid going past them… get your elbows out and push past.upset the race…. Some times we are fast enough but we don’t impose ourselves on the race and the game can just run away. Don’t get frustrated, try and apply something new, get creative and you’ll get there. You sound fast enough so don’t give up. Look for my video on the Mazda rx vision, and then try that car. Hope it works out for you. Thanks for supporting the channel.

@@WiddowmakerWho Thank you for your videos and for your time to answer. I saw some videos about this race and none of these showed a similar race. I experimented something like that in the mission that you have to pass 5 cars with a GR.2 Autech GT-R in Fuji. I tried so many times that I lost the count of it. The first car was always waaaaay ahead, impossible to catch. And various videos about it on YT were showing something different. I've only saw that exactly chance one time after quiting and starting again multiple times and I won, it was difficult but not impossible. I think this event have a bug or something. @felipegrijo5803 you are very welcome. It’s difficult yes but not impossible. It’s supposed to be hard I think. It’s got harder since update 1.31. I will do it again with other cars this month, so you might like to ride along

@@WiddowmakerWho Tried one more with the Mazda RX. I passed Rubilar in the 2nd lap and Yamanata mantained 8/9 seconds in front of me. First stop 10 laps before, Yamanata and Rubilar behind me. 2nd stop, Rubilar, Fraga and Yamanata in front of me, I exit the pits in 8th. The rest of the grid stops one more time, Rubilar and Fraga don't, 11 seconds ahead they finish, I got third 😪😪

@felipegrijo5803 oooooo sounds like your progressing. Are you taking just 10.2 laps of fuel at the pit stop? One of the things I used to say .. don’t race them, chase them. As you pass these guys, put them of there stride, give them a bump, upset there rythum. I never got it first try but through just eroding them. Winning and the ability to win is in your head. You can’t slack off at all. Apply pressure from the start of the race. You have to be quicker through the esses than the Ai and you have to keep going. You will win.

@@WiddowmakerWho Yes.. The 4C.. It is incredibly stable. The tire wear was better than any car ive tried. Ive tried nearly every car in this field. And i am nowhere near as good a driver as you, so the tire wear should be amazing with you behind the wheel. Stable in corners. A tiny bit slower thru the first s curves though. And i could only hit 1:58’s with it. But im sure it would work good for you on a single stop strategy. Also (using the Nismo).. i noticed as you did, the different starts to the race. I still think u can do a one stop 31 lap strategy with the nismo. And heres the thing, every so many starts, Rubilar goes into the dirt at the end of the long straight(the downhill corner at speed). When i get in front of him on the first lap, he absolutely burns his tires out and goes to a many pit stop strategy. So keep him behind you (of course), and he will burn his tires out and not be a contender thru the whole thing. From the start of the race, you can use fuel map 2 throughout, and go to fuel map 3 in the s curves (sounds silly but it saves 2.5 laps of fuel so that the pit stop.. even though one long one is only marginally longer than they would be on a quick pit, two stop strategy. That… and keep to 1;58 laps and you will have a 31 lap’er… its too hard to talk and stream and do it though. It would probably be better to narrate it after the fact due to concentrating on the fuel map constantly. There were times i forgot to switch back down to 2 or 1 again. Even on fuel map 2 throughout it will get to 18 laps with the Nismo (but the tires wont. The point being the pit will be much shorter as it takes four seconds per lap of fuel). So save two laps of fuel in the curves and there’s 8 seconds.

@ghosthuntingrhodeisland I love your detail. Thank you. So I have a car that I can run 15 laps on mediums, and I can run a fastest lap of 1:56:3. Just did a test to 17 laps including the pit stop and by my maths it’s on First lap a 2:05, and do 1:58 on every lap, then I have minimum of 53 seconds for pit stop… 15 laps remaining is 60 seconds of fuel to fill… this car I have is not gonna make it unless I fuel save. I think the car I have might fuel save very well and do the 1:58’s but…. It’s still not long enough. I need 1:57 at worst.. a full 2 seconds every Lap but only need around 10 laps of fuel.. a full stop of 50 to 55 seconds. The cars that have done it are the same one I used last time to hit 31 laps, so a bit of confidence and I thinks it’s a goer. Gonna give it a shot over the weekend and I’ll post the video if successful. Have a great weekend!!!

@@WiddowmakerWho i increased my lap times by getting the first few corners better. I go wide, and then pull in tight (corner 1), i no longer drop below 47mph.., On corner two.. go wide.. pull in tight to the recommended driving line, so you can take corner 3 wide and THEN pull in tight. (The one you always say u have trouble with.. and go really wide?), i now take that corner never below the speed of 70mph. The next corner (the right hander which goes up the hill?), i go a tiny bit deeper into the corner and let the car flow up the hill in third gear. Im now taking that corner no lower than 80mph. This is in the Nismo. Over the course of the race, all of those faster corners really added up. I had to put the driving line on to remember to do it, and its hard in traffic sometimes of course. I try to use the momentum of the car so its less abuse on the tires, less fuel.. because your not scrubbing off speed.. less use of brakes… it all adds up but can be exhausting. Lol.. Everyone drives differently and has trouble with different areas though. The final s curves for example. Ive got that down now, where i almost never go below 85mph. With the Nismo and the Mercedes you want to use their higher horse power .. it allows you to use fuel map 2. And both the Nismo and Merc .. if your brave can go deeper into some corners allowing the weight to be used as momentum to slingshot you up the next hill(s) without missing a beat. I practiced by using no traction control. And when i got good enough the car wasn’t spinning out.. i knew using tc1 during the regular race… id have it…

@@WiddowmakerWho I do, yep. I usually end up pushing too hard at a certain turn after my tires are worn past a good poinylt or get fishtailed by the AI and end up in the barrier. I'll get there soon, I just gotta take my time! Thanks! I'll totally report back when ive completed the mission though!

Your the 2nd person today that tells me this but I don’t think it’s true. No disrespect.., I presume your playing on hard with manual gears? Auto will be difficult yes, but it’s possible. You’ve got to go hard on lap 1 and pass rubillo just after the banked curve and before end of lap 1. Use your elbows, don’t back off. You own this race. Try the start restart restart option to get a more favourable run out over the first 1/2 lap. No quit… you got this man.

I have to say the genesis is rubbish anyway…. Mazda rx vision, merc gt 20 black, bmw m6, Porsche RSR, all well handy on a two stop… mediums.

@@WiddowmakerWhoThis depends. I have T300RS but usually Im just playing with dualsense.. and its the same story. Mediums all the time, I’m 3rd after first lap ;? What I’ve found sometimes startup is different. Aston appears to be closer from time to time but usually is further. I have only two missions left in The Human Comedy - Lagio and 1979 - the others were quite easy.

@@WiddowmakerWhoThe only cars that I havent finished this event with (at all) where the Audis + Lambo for tyrewear reasons and Skyline Silhouette + McLaren F1 for their lack of performance in general, all other cars can win on 2 stops with medium tyres. I dont compare with 1 stop strategies, I dont like slowing down that much when in the end the time difference isnt all too big. As for 1.36 or 1.37 there has been no change in difficulty at all.

@@AlaDejwYes, the starting performance is different per try. Also some cars sometimes down gear up on the starting sequence which will mean a loss of acceleration. Also some of the cars have a vastly different 1st lap performance compared with every following lap, e.g the aforementioned Genesis is a strong lap 1 car, the McLaren is a weak lap 1 car solely for the acceleration on the starting order. But in the end which car performs better is depending on you as the driver. Can you make use of the power of the Genesis and handle the tyrewear, or would a somewhat slower car be better for you for more consistent lap times (and a bit of time saved for lesser fuel consumption).

I’m using a Logitech G29 wheel and custom G25 pedals, removed from case and inverted to a hobo rig… custom spacing and modified brake spring travel and compression. I have raced this race many times, but never passed Rubilar that early before, so as you say quite fortuitous!!! Thank you for your observations!!

@@WiddowmakerWho thank you for the info! I’ve been using a controller and I just can’t seem to have tires last long enough. Trying to race smooth, perhaps not enough. I haven’t tired a one stop though… maybe I’ll do that. Do you have any recommendations on cars that have better tire wear then others?

It’s tough on controller. Tyre wear is high and normally auto fights against you. As a wheel guy, I can only suggest get your lap time down and go easy on the tyres. 2 stops on mediums is gonna be your best shout but use the Mazda rx vision

@@WiddowmakerWho Tried it again came out of my second stop in 5th but made a mistake and selected hard tyres. Clipped a curb pushing hard and spun out. I am so mad that you cant change the tyre selected if you make a mistake.

Sounds like your almost there bud. You don’t see how many videos I crash out with 1 lap to go or, miss the pit stop because I’m talking too much. You’ll get it. Give it another shot bud!
