That's one thing I like about GTA 2's setting over the other "realistic setting" entries. They mix and matched things from different eras which gave the game a unique "uncertain era" charm to it.
It’s supposed to be set in either 1999 or 2013, in a retro-futuristic environment. So a mix of the late 90s and mid 20th century music was the best way to go.
@@noahnorman6877 Yeah, the manual says 3 weeks in the future(so mid-Novenber 1999), but the website says 2013 so...November 2013 I guess probably. Thankfully Rockstar didn't pull a Simpsons and predict any real world events down to the month right...right? RIGHT?
@@deatharrow1994there were weebs way before this game Hell I wouldn't be surprised if one of the designers of GTA 2 was a weeb considering most japanese fans of GTA 2 love funami FM and think it's some sort of retro futuristic japan
GTA 2 needs a remake and you know that maybe some day the world will be retro futuristic in the future just like gta 2 so not only we can play gta 2 but we will experience it in real life kinda
Gta 2 had awesome radio stations and original songs written for the game. What made it better were the djs that were comic gold to listen too. I wish they were brought back.
Does anyone else find it funny how one singer (Julie Wemyss) masquerades herself as multiple different artists on different radio stations despite her voice sounding the same on every single song she sings in?
Some core memories just got unlocked. I was too young to play GTA2 properly but i did like driving around and making my guy burp and fart everywhere he went.
