This 14 minute video is more interesting then all of your shitty pissed off R* Videos on how the game doesn't cater to your needs because you need to pay rent at your mom's house video.
The theory about Claude in GTA 2 & 3 is so so so good explained! I never understood if he really is the same character or not. I really enjoy these Hot Topics. Keep 'em up!
I feel that GTA 2's movie/intro took place in 1991, the year before the events started, what Claude's life was like, in GTA 2 must've been the distant future.
There's a commercial about Liberty City Survivor, where they "gave 20 recently paroled inmates grenade launchers and flamethrowers" and let them "hunt each other down" Most people think it was a commercial poking fun at the cut multiplayer function.
GTA III will forever be my favorite video game of all time. I loved the atmosphere of the city as I am a huge fan of New York. GTA IV was great too but I liked the story of GTA III a bit more.
At 8:49 he says that one of Darkals missions was to drive an ice-cream van to a location, lure pedestrians to it and then blow it up. Although this mission and the character were cut, the same objective of this mission got reused for el burros mission I scream you scream
***** you know it could be due to the fact that III/IV both take place in NY and that's why no planes exist and it's where 9/11 happenes. I could be talking out my ass though.
TM I don't quite follow the "9/11" thing since that horrific event was long past (in terms of media anyways) by the time GTA IV was released. Also, there's that "one airport" thing. It's called the "Skimmer" or "Dodo Seaplane" or whatever R* calls it these days. GTA IV had a lot of water to land on. As for the map being too small in general? Well, the Cessna 152 still has a lower top speed than the UH-60 Blackhawk.Personally, I feel that R* probably didn't want to add planes due to technical issues. They perhaps couldn't get the physics (flight model, vehicle damage, whatnot) down to the way they wanted. So, they just ditched the idea.
Christ Jesus Hmmm, thanks for pointing that out! Although, being quite nitpicky, Alderney is actually based off the state of New Jersey and isn't really part of Liberty City. Speaking of map size, I think I recall R* saying GTA IV's map was going to be about the 75% of GTA SA's map prior to the games release. However, the map is really more like half the size (or a bit smaller). Nonetheless, I'm still quite disappointed that the Skimmer didn't make the cut, seeing as it would have brought at least one multi-terrain vehicle to the game. I loved the hell out of GTA IV (story, characters, and atmosphere are top-notch), but the lack of rural landscaping and vehicle-type variety (in comparison to GTA SA or GTA V anyways) is a bit of a downer.
Fun fact. The actor who played Speed in the live action movies form GTA 2 currently plays the character Jack Branning in popular British soap Eastenders...... a police officer.

I'm pretty sure that dodo was clipped due to 9.11. Rockstar says it wasn't, but I think they're just avoiding controversial topics... they have enough on their plate to last for ages. They're the default bad guy for FOX and Tumblr.
modernmobster Nope. You still don't get it, do ya? Let me explain in detail. If they cut the content, they did it out of respect, HOWEVER... If they were to say: "we cut shit(out of a blood'n'gore game) cause something happened IRL", they would be shat on by the anti-P.C. people. Think about it! Marketing! The options were: Don't cut it content - Pearl clutching over already controversial topic, which may lead to massive unforseen consequences and negative PR; Cut, but NEVER admit it - Nothing but fan theories over "breadcrumbs" that were unremovable; Cut and say why - Admitting that "videogames cause violence"(issue ATT) and pottential drop in sales (from anti-P.C. folk/gamers that are weary of how it affected the game), in a time when piracy was an issue and where every sale counted; The logical choice was made. That explains bus wrecks and clipped a Dodo wings. There are some unused models, names and files in the game, but they don't really push the theory further than "shit was cut". You said, paraphrasing: Because R* makes gory shit, they would admit that they were scared of gory shit.(because they don't care about marketing and they would love to contradict themselves?) Very confusing argument. Also: My dad works at Nintendo so shut up. !Tableflip!
Good call! He does sound like Mr. DNA. I had someone else in mind listening to the narrator talk. I kept expecting him to say: "Don't forget to hand in your tests before you leave. You don't want to know what happens to people who fail the G.O.A.T. exam."
GTA 3 is easily my favourite game to hear about the beta from, it's also my second all time favourite game behind San Andreas and I recently got the platinum trophy on PS4, despite SA being my favourite, there's something so nostalgic and atmospheric about 3 that I just can't describe and will probably never be matched again
"We know Claude's name thanks to San Andreas" not exactly true. if you look in lll's GXT Files you can find something that says "DEFNAME CLAUDE". I'm assuming def means definitive which possibly hints at the option to be able to name the main character like in gta 1 and 2
Yeah I think in 2001 when the game was a craze in a news game review they said "Today we are discussing the newly released GTA in which you play as Claude who gets cheated by his girlfriend Catalina and you end up joining the dark sides of the Liberty city" I still wonder how they knew he was Claude
This video was beautiful. Outta all the armature videos made showcasing GTA's hidden truths THIS ONE takes them all. I know this isn't the first episode of the Hot Topic series but im only just discovering this series through this one particular episode. I knew subscribing to you guys was a good move. You all have evolved so much and this is proof. Thank you. Your execution was spot on. I look forward to other episodes and I will catch up leading to this one. :D Thank you.
GTA 2 and 3 were so spooky in such a unique way, it felt alot more dystopian with the themes of corporate control and corruption. I kinda wish the Zaibatsu remained in the final build of GTA3 as the pervasive, unseen profiteers behind everything.
Fun Fact: Panto's design was completely different in beta as you would saw in the video. But it's design was based on Yugoslavian Sedans Zastava Skala and Fiat 126
Dude I have got no words to say to u!!! U r the best person who can understand gta games. I feel very bad for u cause u being a master piece is having only 1,100,000 subs only . U deserve 10x more than that.
The actor from the GTA 2 intro and short movie is an English actor, Scott Maslen. He has been in and out of a popular soap called Eastenders for many years, and is still in it at the moment. He was also a Police officer in an old Police drama turned soap The Bill which ran for quite a few years but was axed. Claude definitely looks likely to have been modelled on him. A fair few known British actors have voiced characters and peds in GTA games over the years, most known is probably Danny Dyer as Kent Paul in Vice City.
One more piece of info: There were many songs cut from the game. Tom Novy - Back to The Streets AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Conor and Jay- Carry Me Off Apostles Of Funk - "Yellow Butter" Davidson - "All I Wanna Do" Meme Traders - "Automatic Transmission" Ohjaamo - "Complications" Conor and Jay - "Vegas Road"
I love the GTA series, and I love this channel for all the concise, detailed, well thought out videos it produces. I think this series is just whats needed for a title like GTA. And I personally can't wait to see what future episodes will bring. I just want to thank you all at this channel for the time it takes to research and compile such a comprehensive series. Keep up the great work everybody!
Race N Chase wasn't a failed concept GTA just came from a glitch that game testers and devs loved so much they choose to go with it and thus GTA was born. The glitched made the police just ram you and chase you with no escape.
***** Well...Liberty City is kinda like New York City, and Max Payne 1 takes place in New York,so it kinda makes sence, that some sick ass Robbers to blow up a fucking Wall and take all the fucking money
I think the Beamer was a beta Sentinel. Sentinel looks like a BMW, and BMWs are also known as "beamers"/"beamas", plus the beamer looks similar to Sentinel.
GTA 3 Online: "Hey, let's have people wander around Liberty City and do cool missions and deathmatches!" GTA V Online: "3 MILLION DOLLARS FOR A FIRE TRUCK AND LET'S GIVE PEOPLE A 4 MILLION DOLLAR FLYING ROCKET LAUNCHER BIKE AND MAKE EVERYTHING WAY TOO EXPENSIVE."
Yeah I was thinking that as well! Joey Leone couldn't be accessed in the early hours of the morning. Is that something that was changed in other versions? I'm in the UK so perhaps my version still includes that - I always thought it the norm.
Nope. Joey is unavailable before his first mission on all copies. Unless other characters were unavailable, then it's something interesting. I recall having a mission in GTA III, where you had to crash a plane into the building, but I remember being able to parachute out. Possibly me remembering San Andreas or Vice City wrong.
You could ride trains and you could technically fly the dodo, but only into the ocean. There wasn't any mission where you'd fly a plane in GTA3, the dodo wasn't suited for that. There wasn't a parachute in GTA3 or Vice City.
The reason it is taking so long is because we are still discovering beta missions, characters, etc., to this day. They won't make that video until Rockstar is completely done with GTA Online, and put their attention solely on GTA 6.
I've played every GTA game in the series besides London IIRC, and something about this game makes it stand out to me. It's not the prettiest anymore, but the world they crafted in this game feels so real somehow.
8Ball's original name of Mullan is a play on moulinyan, an italian slang for black person. Some consider it offensive, so I can see why the removed it.
If there is one thing I wish Rockstar kept in GTA 3’s final version: it’s minor but big enough to show a difference is the police car designs. The blue and white fit with the NYC style!
I'm pretty shure there's an early GTA3 image that shows a pedestrian with his face destroyed with the baseball bat... and that was changed because it was "too violent"
Hmmmm Nice Bike This question should be addressed to Zmey20009, who is responsible for the MP map conversions. The link can be found in the description.
Where you kind of went wrong is that no matter how you look at it, GTA 2 and 3 are different universes. And Rockstar has obviously confirmed that. So it really is 2 different people. Unless somehow he exists in both :o
Well the whole inverse thing really didn't start up until the release of gta is where they categorized them, rockstar didn't intend for the whole universe thingto happen so they went with the same characters
'Most reliable information' you guys say at the end. I feel those were shots fired at all the other GTA you tubers who just make shit up and recycle old videos cough teddy cough bossftw cough
Thanks, for clearing up a LOT of nonsense rumors :) . What were all of Darkel's missions, anyway? Also, I think I can clear up the Claude Speed age problem. As I recall, in GTA2, Claude was cryogenically frozen, as an alternate punishment/test, to escape the death penalty (following, his eventual re-capture).
If your PC can't handle GTA V's high specs, get Just Cause 2 instead. It is a more action-based alternative (which I think is better) that requires unusually low specs. Just look up "just cause 2 stunts".
GTA 2 Claude is DEFINITELY the Claude from GTA III but theyre are from different universes, it's obvious that they portrayed Claude on this actor. Also as I remember GTA 2d was in the far future like 2100 or something but as I said it's a different universe with the same protagonists but different backstories.
Great video~! The channel needed something refreshing besides the rehashes of GTA V gameplay videos. Hat's off for this episode! Looking forward to the next episode.
Nightmare Chica the very first GTA I played was London 1969, but I found it so confusing and boring I dropped playing it (wasn't even mine), then it was GTA 3... and I loved it. Since then, I've been playing all (sans GTA Advance). :)
In fact, if GTA 2 was set in 1999, the GTA2's Claude could not be the GTA 3's Claude, 'cause Claude was arrested during the bank assault, and according to the newspaper that appear on the first cutscene of GTA 3, he got a 10 years sentence. The assault scene would probably be in 1992 (basing on his appearing in GTA SA), so Claude couldn't be free in 1999 because he was in jail at that time.
12:24 the should of left the Airport north of Staunton Island it looks much better in the map sketch I would love to see how the Airport would of look on north Staunton Island
