GTA 5: Beyond the Darkness (Noir Machinima)

Los Angeles at the end of the 1940s. Two LAPD homicide detectives investigate a series of murders that has similar features to the infamous Black Dahlia case. Beyond the Darkness is a GTA 5 Horror Noir machinima, mostly inspired by the works of James Ellroy. I also took some influence from L.A. Noire and the gritty 90s crime thrillers, most notably Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs. This story is purely fictional but there are lots of references to real people and true events.

This is incredible. as a film student I've also been making Machinima for a few months, and I can't comprehend the amount of time and the amount of co-operation that would be needed to make a film this long and so good. I love it!

I’m making GTA Movies for 5 years now and of all machinimas I’ve watched this is on top of the list! How you’ve managed to keep the tension enormously high while producing no huge visible bugs, clipping, or story plot holes is outstanding! Great work!

I still want to get back to this era so the possibility for a sequel is not totally ruled out. I've also confirmed that some of the voice actors are willing to get back to their roles. Maybe there will be a second part when the time is right.

This was incredibly well done. There was never a dull moment. One of the best movies I've seen done in GTA probably ever. This was a passion project through and through and it shows. The last fifteen minutes alone was nothing but tense thriller and I loved it.

From the music to the editing to the gripping story, this was another mind-blowing movie. For a moment there, I had to remined myself that I was watching a GTA movie, not an L.A. Noire one, that's how much you nailed the tone of the latter game. Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs are two of my all-time favorite movies, and I feel you did them both justice, no pun intended. The ending had me going "WHAT?! NO WAY!!!" In other words, great job!

People don't realize it really takes talent to make these mini movies, you have to come up with a good theme a good plot to the story and you have to write a good script that makes sense.. shit if you can make mini movies lik this you have to talent to write a script for a real theater movie or show on TV.. this was a good movie tho I lik how they took it back to the 50s the black dahlia era, back when the Hollywood sign was Hollywoodland.. keep up the good work I been glued to the screen lately watching these movies.. I'm definitely a happy subscriber, hands down.

I know you are seeing it all over the comment section, but lemme be the one to repeat, this was a great machima. One of the best GTA machimas out there, the choreography was especially astounding considering it's all mods and even the voice acting as well as the music.
