Back in the 90s we took those Malibu and dropped a Cadillac big block either a 472 or 500... a torque monster...the stock rear end had to go. We could break them fast. Just the stock engine made that light weight Malibu dip into the high 11s...if you hooked up Then we added after market stuff, but there was nothing after market for those engines..but a adapter plate using a Oldsmobile intake...or Buick. Can't remember...and modified headerz...omg that engines woke up
Odd thing, I own a 68SS NOVA with a Blown 572 fuel injected nightmare beast. Not much will beat it.. It makes 1800 at the rear wheels...wirh giving it the hose I have around 75 grand into it
Can never go wrong with a G body muscle car. I’m surprised with you being from Miami where the g body muscle cars have a huge following! We need more G body muscle cars in game and not all the stuff that’s hyped up like dodge and mustang. Box chevys forever!
I know many people who've made hot-rods and track cars out of G-body Chevys over the years. These cars are well known in many car circles. Seeing this car in game speaks to Rockstar realizing that there's room to add cars that 'old-heads' like myself will appreciate.
this is by far the best looking car from this dlc imo, this provides many customization styles either the drag look, classic look, trans am racer look, and more. absolutely love this car!
i had wondered why this car was released along with the Monte Carlo based Tahoma seeing as they're not too far off from each other, but the rake on this thing speaks for itself. G bodies are badass cars, they're a platform just waiting to be played with. cars like these tell stories from another time whether it be after school drags, meet ups documented in 1320 videos or pro street racing events. i love how you did yours up and i can't wait to mess with mine
as a former owner of one of these cars in real life it is actually a 79 to 80 car the 81 to 84 cars had dual headlights with no wrap around side marker lights they were moved to the bumper. and yes even on the real car depending on what color interior the ENTIRE interior was all one color including dash and steering wheel and yes the headliner so that is 100% accurate to the real car. and the real car came in all metal top or half vinyl (landau) or full vinyl, mine was full vinyl when I got it it and had it removed when the car was fixed up.
@@pdennis93 I was gonna say that too but I forgot to, after 81 you could only get malibu as a sedan or wagon or the malibu wagon based elcamino which ran til 86.
@@thabet3403 grand am also had single headlights in 78-80. They did 4 headlights in 81 though which makes the 1981 2 door lemans unique. Also the 4 door too since it became the bonneville in 1982 and they changed the front end yet again.
@@thabet3403 yea my bad if it's the 80-81 Malibu (in the game) it's the A body but the 82-87 El Camino G Body took full effect that's the year of the El Camino I would love to see in GTA because I love those dual headlights
I'm bothered you completely missed that the two tone is clearly an homage to the Intimidator Monte Carlo. That black top with the red pin stripe is iconic.
I saw somebody said they should do the box Caprice... That would make a killing in sales.... Mr personally I still want a squarebody 80's Chevy pick-up
Funny that a company is named Rockstar, yet still copy/paste interiors, engine models, sounds, etc. Most of their vehicles suffer from quality control, bugs and various issues. They should really rename themselves to Lazystar.
Wow didn’t see this coming lol. Saw one of these in a parking lot at a restaurant one day burnt orange with tan seats, beautiful car not popular as other cars from era but that burnt orange hits on this
I hope they make this car a Bennys upgrade as Donk it’s a huge car in the Donk community and Big Rim Racing. Especially since the Grand National is the only other Donk in the game. The Monte Carlo they add I hope that can get a Donk option at Bennys and turns into the SS version.
I wonder what the engine would look like if you had put the exposed turbos. May have been a crazy engine model with 4 turbos? Maybe puttin to much faith in R* lol
Dude, you have no cool at all....Like who cares about the prices of the cars in the game anymore? They're going to be "expensive" no matter what. It's a video game, not real life. It's no like Rockstar is gonna price the cars to real life prices of cars.
I like the way it looks but i don't like the drag stance, i'd be more interested in it if the rear wheels were the same size all around. The car itself looks cool though
I not understand why Rockstar release all this underrated cars, you have so much cool pop culture cars Rockstar don't want to release like Mercedes S-Class (W140) from 90s
the turbo grille isn’t real turbos. it’s a turbo air intake to get more air to the engine bay of the car, there’s never real turbos exposed in the grille like that.
I would prefer if the front wheels were the same size as the rear wheels as im going for a nascar build, but it does look good for drag builds. Also rockstar really needs to add the f1/hotring tyres as options for cars. This would be a perfect example
I'm pumped bout it, cause I got one in real life, it's my everyday driver, this one has 80 style tail lights with the reverse lights in the middle, just like mine (a 80 model). They came factory with chrome trim on the fenders.
Definitely overpriced for something that looks like an everyday car from the 80's... Around $800k should've been its max price, along with the Tahoma Coupé, imo. I can't justify old muscle cars going over $1 million in the game...
I think in this video you needed to go back and see the engine with the supercharger hood and the exposed turbo hood. The engine would look different on both.
The economy is broken so I don’t think it is overpriced. I dont like new cars so a Toros is completely uninteresting to me, or any sports car for that matter. They are just ugly and boring to drive. This is my new go-to car, number two is the Greenwood.
How do you know this car looks like it's from GTA VI when it's still in development? If this car is going to be featured in GTA VI, it would likely have better texture quality.
Kept my Tulip with a very classic muscle car look. Nothing to over the top. Kept the free car classic looking as well. So far, the selection of day 1 cars was pretty respectable with the exception of the extremely underwhelming Entity. Bought it, HSW upgraded it, raced it and sold it back. Things absolute garbage.
I was so incredibly happy to see the Caprice/Malibu into gtao, but i hate i can only get the cop-livery with race decals😠 -sigh- when are you going to come with a dedicated police vehicle update, R*...
If Rockstar priced their vehicles reasonably I can garauntee they would make more money. People would be buying sharkcards in bulk to fill their garages with custom vehicles.
If I'm being honest, you need to increase the game volume and decrease your Mic volume.......or stop talking for a minute maybe. Can barely hear the car at all
wish you could make the wheels the same size. this is good for drag culture but not real gbody culture. this was so close to bein one of my favourite cars in this entire game
Just got this and fixed it up , wow rockstar did this car nice, that engine sound and exhaust could have been a bit more aggressive and louder in my opinion but overall I love this car !
This car ignited my love for muscle cars as a kid. A neighbor had one that was hugger orange with white stripes. I don't know what he had in it, but he would drive it down the street and rattle my mom's knick knacks on the shelves.
My dad had a ‘78 Malibu for as long as I can remember. He’s currently doing modifications to it as he intends to hand the keys to me someday. He had a ‘93 fiberglass 5.0 that ran early 8s. He’s since ‘retired’ from racing, sold the Mustang but he still drives around his factory blue ‘66 Chevelle.
