I've read a lot of elitist comments from people who think that using drift tuning makes you a scrub or whatever, but I think it's undeniable that drift tuning just makes drifting more fun and enjoyable. At the end of the day, that's truely what matters most. It's a video game and we're all here to have fun.

Exactly this - no denying just how fun this new feature is. Even as someone who spent the last decade drifting with stance/low-grips, I find it to be an absolute blast!
Just a thing i see you mention in every video: Low suspension actually makes most drift cars worse. Stock suspension is the best, i dont know where you took that body roll is bad for drifting, because it isnt. In real life they even lift a front wheel sometimes going into corners. In the game having stock suspension makes the side to side turn less sharp/oversteery. Very few cars are actually better with low suspension, so id try it out without it first.
At the end of the day I'd say it all comes down to personal preference. But dude, too much body roll is a thing too. Like yeah, having a softer suspension can help with overall bite and allow cars to "hook" a bit better during a drift, but if your suspension is too soft then steering response is nonexistent. That's exactly how it feels with the stock suspension in GTA - I have tried every car with both stock and upgraded suspension, and I believe that the upgraded suspension is better across the board (I even talked about the testing I did in this video). Even with the upgraded suspension, there is still some body roll, which is definitely helpful, and it's not so bad that the steering response suffers. Each of the new drift cars literally has a handling flag that makes them handle significantly better with suspension upgrades, and I will say the improvement is quite noticeable. TLDR; too much body roll is a bad thing, but at the end of the day personal preference wins out - please don't tell me my testing's wrong because yours is different.
@@StevieWunderKid I guess it does comes down to preference, i just hope it isnt bias of your part thinking too much about the flag. I also did the test with all drift cars throughout several days and thats why im sharing. We think you only lose response and also diminish the slow speed drift qualities when installing low suspension. Its not like you are drifting a monster truck and fighting body roll. And im not saying you are wrong, in fact you are the one who said I am when you pointed "handling flags" as conclusive evidence. They only show it affects the cars, doesnt mean its positive. Lets settle on personal preference, as some cars DO get much better with it, although few. But my honest opinion is you are being bias on the suspension and should try it with stock and an open mind. Try the 350z with stock, the rx7 is specially good too.
These cars hav better drifting then the last 3 nfs titles but you also get the rest of gtao(better city and traffic too), i play alot of drift 5m servers i play gtao too but online is a more grounded experience server hopping can get annoying
low grip drifting was complete dogshit, this update was a godsend. who cares about skill gap ceiling rofl low grip drifting was not drifting for 99% of the player base.
Most of my subscribers before the update were from low-grip drifting, there was a much larger community behind it than you probably think. Was mainly thinking of them when I made that point.
@@StevieWunderKidi did a lot of drifting in forza h4 and i REALLY hated how rockstar just "here, low grip tyres. go eat shit" Although i still hate how hard it is to spun out with this setup because of awd.
So after the drift conversion, cars become 4x4 and not RW cars anymore🤔? 4WD to driftlike Ken Block Gymkhana cars and not like Tokyo Drift/D1GP/Formula-D cars🤔
Yes, technically they are AWD, but as I mentioned, it's only a small amount of power (10-25%) going to the front wheels. They still handle like RWD cars for the most part, not really as noticeable as you might think.
Does having a spoiler make a difference? I don't know if it's placebo or not, but going without a spoiler made my ZR350 really slidy and goes a lot wider than when I have a spoiler on. With a spoiler, I felt like I had just a tiny bit more control around corners.
I really don't notice much of a difference with it, but if you like the way it looks/feels then run it. I don't like running huge spoilers because they'll hit obstacles if they're too big haha
My ranking video kind of serves that purpose, even after doing more practice with tandems and drift races my feelings about each car are still the same!
I own every drift car along with a non drift version of the same even made one of my garages drift cars only . I havent done races yet but i like taking them down to the shipping port and practice in the big open spaces and around the trailers
Dunno if anyone on PS4/Xbox 1 players get this but instead of $200,000 to equip the drift tune, its actually $190,000 and to remove it, its $47,500 instead of $50,000 so kinda confusing 😂
Anyone notice any difference with or without a spoiler or diffuser? Seems like the spoilers matter in this game, and cars have designated drift spoilers and diffusers. Would putting a spoiler or diffuser designed for racing instead of drifting contradict the desired drift abilities in some way?

Yes, that was an error in the script on my part. For most cars the power split is something like 17.5% to the front, but for others (like the ZR350) it's higher.
@@StevieWunderKid oh, I see. I thought the power distribution is all the same although different vehicles have different parameters. Do you swap cars for races or you try to perfect driving one vehicle? Also, are there any drift communities where I could play with some drifters on PS4?
I got one more cuestion since you replied to my first comment. How does the leaderboards in drift work? I'm 2914 in Smoke and Mirrors race making around 200k points a lap. It never says anything about lap time in the race but checking the leaderboards I can only see people getting better times are in front of me. When I do drift races by myself it seems like it doesn't add to the leaderboards. When I try to win the race by getting the best lap times but not making the points it doesn't get any better. Do I actually have to win the race to get WR for the lap time or do I have to make the highest points in the world? Sorry for my terrible English I learnt from the internet 😄
It does make the car AWD, I showed a summary of the handling file changes in the first part of the video. If you don't believe that, park the car up against a wall and floor it, all 4 wheels spin.
You’re not supposed to upgrade your engine and transmission before because once you put the drift tuning it is gonna delete your previous engine mods. The only think that will stay on your car is the aesthetics because the drift tuning adds all the power and tune it and it will delete the previous engine mods
People playing gta for drifting have no right to call others scrub for having fun, hop on assetto and try drifting there and then we are talking. Just have fun guys!
