San Andreas wins, and it's not even close. While GTAV is physically larger, San Andreas FEELS bigger because there are several cities that are completely different from one another. You really feel like you are in different places, and the scope of the game was so much bigger in terms of exploration.

GTA SA feels much bigger because. 1. Three big cities 2. Five or six different area. 3. Each area has its own vehicle and pedestrian skin. 4. Each area has a different lighting from game. 5. The citiest are all far each other. 6. Gap of each cities will be reduce and feels like the whole map is a city. 7. Different area, different gun. 8. Different area, different gang. 9. Has three airport and three train station. 10. The vibes for each area is perfect. 11. Has Jetpack. The only bad thing is, GTA SA was released on 2004 when the computer is not very well. Only if GTA SA is released on 2025 the map will fell much bigger and the gang system will be much more complicated and fun. Edit: GTA SA had small street so the city is more dense then GTA V with wide street.

Los santos 2. Those that say gta 5 map is small and it looks big because of the forest. Remember that if you combine los santos, las venturas, and san fiero from gta san andreas and mix it together to create a single city, the size is roughly the same as los santos in gta 5... the rest of san andreas is a forest similar to blaine County... gta 5 map in this video is inaccurate since the entire liberty city itself can fit across the city

So you're an idiot who won't change their mind when presented with evidence? Go on top of the tallest building on Los Santos in the definitive edition, and just look around. Do it from the top of Mount Chiliad too. The map is fucking tiny. It feels bigger because it's better designed than GTA 5, and uses the space more efficiently. Every square foot is accounted for. It needed to be better designed, because it had stricter hardware limitations. Drive from the south end of LS to the north end of LV in San Andreas, and then go from the airport, to Paleto Bay in 5. 5 is way bigger.

GTA SA might have had many many bugs and a lot of repeated textures, but DAMN they were really ambitious in what they were trying to deliver and for the most part, they delivered. In full. They packed San Fransico, Los Angeles, Las Vegas AND "redneck" middle america plus Nevada desert towns into one map.
