Honestly it's stuff like this that makes the game so great, you can just walk around and not even be doing anything and still find amusing things to watch. My personal favorite is pushing people off the cliff that overlooks the highway near Burger Shot in Broker. Sometimes the bikers that hang around there will start fighting me and then the police get involved and it turns into an AI gun battle.
if you open the doors of a car, and then start smashing the roof, you will notice that the doors will also damage by itself without you even touching then, this happens on both GTA 4 and GTA 5/Online
Because the deformation system is very primitive. Car parts don't get damaged individually, the car deforms as if it's one whole model. It's called standard vertex deformation if I'm not mistaken

Cant believe I was born in 2008 and gta 4 was released. I'm playing the game now and I had to heavily tweak game data to optimize it for my student laptop 😭
The best thing is to just go afk, did this one time and left a recording on, when i came back i was at the Hospital, so i checked the recording, for some reason a gang war between cops and gangsters happend and one random npc drove into a nearby gas pump and exploded all cars nearby (including mine)
I remember the first time I touched GTA 4 I had just come out of the PS2 with GTA San Andreas the monumental slap I took it was insane in graphics in physical technique ... it was like discovering RDR 2 in 2008.And I was 13 years old but when GTA 5 came out I was never so disappointed GTA 4 was such an evolution I only liked GTA 5 halfway to the truth.
1:31 I've never seen NPC's fighting each other in this game before. In fact I don't think I recall NPC's fighting each other in any of the HD universe GTA games. I've seen NPC's fighting each other fairly often in older GTA's like San Andreas and Vice City but I've never seen this occur in either GTA IV or V.
it can in both GTA IV and GTA V, but it's rare in GTA V because most NPCs run away, and if they do fight it's over after only one punch also I literarily just made a video with hobos fighting
It happens in GTA SA but rarely, mostly its road rage or rival gangs fighting each other. But after the Riot mission and before End Of The Line, Los Santos becomes chaotic.
Sometimes in GTA Online I would do something similar. Get 5 stars, find a spot where the cops would never lose sight of me, but couldn't path find to me. While in passive mode, I'd play Pokemon. Any player coming near me was greeted with confused police.
If you wanna see chaos, try to play with the swingset with god mode on (not for the car, even funnier) and a wanted level, just two stars is enough. Hours of ridiculousness
This reminds me when I was fucking around in GTA V at the Ace Liquor and a police chase passed by and then a gunfight randomly occurred with the police and the NPCs being chased. It then alerted nearby NPCs making them join in on the gunfight. That fight probably lasted for at least 5-10 minutes.
GTAIV is timeless cuz of this stuff, easily in top 20 games of all time. I was 11 years old watching youtube vids of GTAIV stunts and Machinimas, now I'm 23 still playing sometimes to go for taxi rides, mess with NPCs, TBOGT gang wars with two dozen mods, etc.
Yeah 😂 it's awesome. But I also think it'd be cool if it was like true crime streets of new York and had it's own built in game debug menu, also full of cheats and such. And I mean no mods, no hacks, nothing dangerous, complicated or illegal. Just a debug menu that's already in the game. It'd be cool to have one in GTA 4.
