LCS Engine were based on Vice City, with a little bit of GTA Sa, Same goes for VCS, but with even more things from GTA Sa. So, they mostly CTRL+C CTRL+V the whole code, including weapons, vehicles and physics.
Yeah, which is why VC and III content was left unused, mentions of a Supra and a Subaru WRX are in the files as well, which were most likely the Jester and Sultan from SA
there's no "little bit of GTA SA" it's a plain VC engine, the SA feels comes from the Audio, SA Animation, SA Camera, and the HUD that resembles SA too
I remember using the mission false idols to steal the maverick and just fly around, i wish rockstar kept the helicopters in the game but its a shame that they didn't due to the limitations of the psp and parts of the buildings had missing roof texture
The fact that you literally have to input a code while standing on the top of that strange pyramid in Staunton Island to spawn the goddamn Hunter really blew my mind
Is it the extended field of view that creates the illusion of speed, or the helicopters in GTA LCS are pretty much faster than the very same helicopters in any other GTA of the same universe?
I’m surprised with the police Maverick having a LCPD livery, maybe at some point Rockstar thought about letting us use the choppers without having to spawn them via modding
They probably didn't want to add extra polygons and textures to places where you aren't meant to be (f.e. a lot of rooftops, backside of Shoreside Vale) which could've caused a performance lag at the cost of rendering something that you wouldn't even interact with 99% of times. It might sound like a joke now but optimization was taken seriously back in the day when the hardware was generally weaker.
Back then, GTA 3 was supposed to have flyable planes like "Dodo" with its fully wings. Due to 9/11 tragedy before the game release, they decided to cut the wings of the Dodo because it was too controversial at that time. Making the player unable to flying the plane steadily or crashing into purpose (for example buildings in Liberty City). The only game that time we had proper flyable vehicles before GTA SA was GTA Vice City because Liberty City location is heavily inspired taken from New York real life location in GTA 3, whereas Vice City is heavily inspired taken from Miami real life location in GTA Vice City. Same goes applies to GTA LCS because takes place in the same location as GTA 3.
@@JollySchmidt False rumour: It has been confirmed by Rockster themselves countless times that 9/11 didn't impact the game and flying was never supposed to be available because of technical reasons (@Zmeeed01 comment explains it further)
whenever I see a video about anything related to LCS it forces me to ask myself "now the video is talking about the official LCS that released for PS2 & PSP , what about the unofficial port on PC? does this stuff exist too?"
i like vcs because lcs just full like gta 3 exp- cars burn too easily like toys, gun bullet speed over killed in 1sec, npc react same like gta3, no new feature just bikes from VC.
