i hope they add more vehicles for the drift tuning cause tbh the list feels small and there are more vehicles that deserve the drift tuning like the sultan rs or the elegy retro for example
The Drift Tampa is AWD & they made it work with the drift tune. And also, pretty much everyone else says that the tune actually makes all the cars AWD.
People irl have been able to drift awd as well, ontop of what others have said( while difficulty is high. ) Rockstar could always spin something plausible enough to please the Neigh-sayers.@killernazrat
People seem to be more friendly after this update. The amount of people that have pulled up just to skid (or flash their cruisers lights😂) is unreal. W update for sure.
Nope. People just switched from blowing people up to ramming into drifters in pubs via an Arena War/Boost car. In other news: This DLC has been the most popular time for Arena war vehicles since 2019. 😂
@rubydahk Nope. I stay in passive while in freemode for the exact reason of other players being too random to trust. I've seen the ramming happen to the poor randoms I tandem with far too often. It's always either a Vigilante with Benny's wheels or a Nightmare Issi classic doing the dumbest stuff to them. 😂
I have to agree with you and @Blurgamer17 it's the typical mixed bag but I think the majority of the nice people are people who are passionate about cars and racing in general.
Another tip: when u have 5.0X multiplier and at the end of race , stop for second to count your drift points. i had 6k with 5 multiplier but i ended up finishing with 19k.
I’ve done A Hill To Die On while holding a single drift across the whole course, got over 200,000 score, gonna try it again while cashing out as soon as i hit X5 multiplier, also neat use of the NFS Carbon music in the end there
Man I love these drift events. Probably the only place in whole game where I feel op. It is pure skill, not like regular races where wins the one with more FPS or whoever does more curb boosts. Have got many 1st's here and feel very proud :D
can you use the banshee for drift races...? I got one and upgraded all up, but can't seem to figure out how to use it other than on the street regular... ugh.
As someone who has been drifting in GTA since I think around 2019, this drifting update is rather good. The handling was a little weird since I use a lot more steering. I do like using cars like the Sultan RS so it wasn't much of a difference since they are all AWD but I can definitely still tell. I can get crazy angles with the ZR-350. I forget the name of the track, but the P2P race that goes from Vinewood Hills to the beach, that windy downhill section that goes past Tequi-la-la, I can get a near 90 degree drift through that entire downhill section. Anyway, The handling, especially the steering is a little weird compared to older drift cars, even low grips and stance cars. Its like when you go full 90 degrees you can just full-lock countersteer and the car can just flip itself around like its nothing. If you want to get really high angles, you have to basically just let the car steer straight and it can pull itself around a corner, but ofc does still need a little countersteer. You can keep the throttle up and only really let off or blip it when adjusting lines, slowing down, getting tighter corners, etc. Also, Keeping one single line is only really good for keeping up points and getting the best drift. So far my highest single drift is 385k Also also, you don't really need to go so slow, there was a lot of sections you can flat-out and link them. There is only a few straights that you need to manji to keep the drift going if you can get the speed going. For ppl wanting to get even further into drifting, check out StevieWunderKid, he has an entire playlist for tutorials on drifting in GTA. TLDR: Steering is weird. Basically just countersteer at different variables based on your corners, rarely need to full countersteer(my favorite method is rolling using the top of the analog stick). You only need to blip the throttle when going through slow sections(or spam the handbrake) Linking corners is more valuable than just slow manji the entire time (manji is also known as snaking) Also, tandem is really easy with these cars due to their higher steering angles and sturdier physics. Before if you hit someone they would tend to spin out or punt them a mile away.
@@davdgs its actually better than just low grips and stance. The drift tune cars give you a lot of torque, more so than just handbrake boosting. And the steering makes spinning out nearly impossible., but takes getting used to since full countersteer can spin your car around the other direction if you're not careful
The drifting mechanics in this mode is pretty fun, it brings back the days of playing in NFS underground 2 doing chain drifts corner to corner, I love it!
A tip for the very start of the race, press R3 to look behind you to change the camera to normal. This will help see more around you so you can get a better start.
Another good trick is to apply the "Clutch kick" Trick (Listen to your car switch into 2nd gear, then release the throttle and tap the handbrake within half a second), but apply the regular brake and handbrake
I can think of plenty of cars that could get benefits from these Drift Tunes: OG Futo, Comet Retro, Comet S2, Elegy Retro, Specter Custom, Sultan RS, Sentinel Classic/Custom Intruder, Schwartzer, Schafter V12, Youga (if you know, you know) Warrener (both variants) V-STR, 190Z, Dominator GT(maybe when/if they make a hardtop version) and thats all I can think of. why haven't they added a Miata or M3 E46 yet? they would've been perfect for this part of the DLC.
looks pretty fun. I would have had a blast with this back in the day probably. not into gaming these days though, but dang, some of these updates are pretty legit.
regular brakes are a way of sliding with forward momentum rather than sideways momentum. just another way of controlling where the car goes once you get used to it.
i think more cars could've been added to the drift tuning, like off the rip, Warrener HKR was intended to be a drift car right? maybe the RT3000 as well. I feel like theres a few other kind of obcure cars that like to slide. the V-STR is one i recall seeing someone say in a video thats fun to drift. Im not sure if irl its common that those cars are customized to drift.
@@loudpissingnoise8574 another that came to mind, i keep seeing the datsun 240z, 640z ? ( im not a huge car guy) as a drift car, maybe the Karin 190z could become a drift car.
I totally respect your opinion and preferences, but I do vouch for using the regular brake as well. Hand brakes good at prolonging the slide. The regular brake is good at whipping your tail end out a bit further. Kind of a niche usage you have to feel it out I do think learning the handbrake first helps and then yeah just keep it simple. Don't try to push too many buttons at one time
*Example:* So I know if you want the tail end out more then you can just steer in that direction, but oh contraire my friend. Imagine making big right turn but you're flicking the wheels to the left to counter the spin, but oh you're kind of straightening out and if you handbrake/steer towards the corner it's likely you won't make it past that one light pole staring you down. So you keep flicking the wheels to the left instead and give the normal brakes that same 0.5s tap revving up the engine and doing a bit of a power burnout the way you do when you press gas and reverse at same time. Wheels are going left so it extends your sliding arc but kicks the butt end out further without torpedoing at the light pole
There’s a lot more too it than just gas and e brake you can make the most of drifting as a whole when you use gas e brake and normal brake holding gas and brake down keeps your wheels spinning allowing you to hold a longer drift and using e brake just locks your wheels up allowing you to shift your weight a lot easier but I like the video it’s a nice intro 😅
Upgrading transmission is the reason why it doesn't feel the same as stock because the gears a changed blah blah, I bet if you leave the transmission stock and fully upgrade the rest to ur liking then it feels pretty much the same. Just more power. Just a little tip I feel some should try,
Wish they had a toggle button tbh I understand that its unrealistic but for me on console its nearly impossible to do minor fast driving adjustments on the highway like swearving between cars
GhillieMaster. Can you do a video on Rockstar ending support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1? I found out about this when I opened Social Club, and I thought you would research it, and do a quick video about it.
if anyone wants a tip for pc i binded the main brake to one of my mouse buttons and u just hold it and can keep revs up. without taking ur finger off the gas.
This s..t was glitching my game and leaving me in a session alone all the time... Change session multiple times and being alone again. Untill I got inside that menu with the new back plates and all the new stuff, after scrolling the new menu once the glitch ended and I play again in crowded sessions.
For me my favorite drift car is the zr350, it just feels to most controllable and fun to drift. On the other hand the drift yosemite feels slow and shitty as hell and idrk why.
The drift tampa struggles to sustain drifts at low speed because of its length the best drifter from my experience would be the ZR350 with a small wing (large wings can get caught on the precise drift pylons or general environment) I just maybe an hour ago completed 99 straight laps and missing 15 precise drift pylons total on "let fly" without crashing or completing the drift once, ending with a score of 1647924 (8239621 after the X5 multiplier) after 2 hours straight drifting (it said 1 hour and 56 minutes on end screen)
I find the ZR350 extremely difficult to drift, the back end refuses to kick out, it has a hard time maintaining a slide and theres not enough power. Then again I was drifting muscle cars and low grips before this and they gave no issue, but the ZR350 I cannot get the hang of it. Might just be a skill issue. Any advice?
@@Changingtesting I don't personally have an issue with kick out on the ZR350 but it could just be how I drive doesn't gel well with the tampa (which I find to have worse kick out especially at low speed) I will make public an unlisted video on my account of my ZR350 drifts for a day or 2 if how that car drives lines up with how it performs for you then it could just be preference (engine upgrades etc do actually matter do make sure u have them before you upgrade)
My big problem with the drifting there no kool mods to make them drift better but the big problem is DRIFTING IS SUPPOSED TO BE RWD not AWD but would be cool to add it to modify the cars to be RWD or AWD
Quick question if i buy the drift tuning for let's say the euros or the jester rr but later i reget it or don't want the drift tuning anymore, can i remove it?
Yo, is it me or the Drift Series is completely hidden from the game, aside from the Job Menu. I cannot access it from the LSCM, the Quick Job phone and I cannot see where its blip is, even tho it's set to Show on the Interaction Menu.
If someone's connection is terrible, it will cash out your drift while still drifting. 🤦♂️ Hope R* fixes that problem. Also with the snow hella frame rate drop. Can't imagine how bad this must be on old gen.
Selection screen at the CEO office should work (when you go to the blue dot to enter your CEO office and it asks if you want to enter the office or a garage, don't pick any option. (you may need to at least buy a garage floor for the screen to pop up))
@@_Mixo The menu thing that pops up when you go to ceo office, nightclub, apartments to decide if you want to go in that or garage have been fixed :( (Idk for console but doesn't work for PC)
The only con I might say about these races is, well, there are so few cars even though the game has a lot of options. Also, these races add up to the car meet rep, right?
You should definitely put low grips on BEFORE you put the drift tuning on. The option to put them on after disappears. It does make a noticeable difference and makes up for the lack of power in some corners.
In my opinion, drifting was always in the game, just in simple form. What I am referring is when u hit the handbrake, gas, and brakes the right way, u can drift a turn. This update made it where u can drift like in mario cart (drift side to side).
If anyone in the comments knows how to properly drift can you guide me with how to properly turn properly use accelerator because when I drift I've always held it because RU-vidrs say otherwise and I'm learning to tap it😂
It's pretty much hard to explain, there are times where if you are driving on a straight road, just steer to your rights and lefts, when turning, leave more space to turn the direction and if you going a little too fast, use the brakes or hold RB or R1 buttons to drift without crashing, and if you are going too slow, quickly press RB or R1 to go a little faster while steering to your left or your right, it's helpful when you try to go to the green zone or trying to get 1,000+ points for getting closer to that pole.
u should max out ur car before buying drift mod. theres big difference in power since u cant upgrade engine brakes transmission and turbo after words. pls guys MAX OUT ur cars before drift mod.
Is drift a new gen console exclusive like HSW? If so then im kinda losing hope. How long HSW has been in the game? Like 2 years? Its never coming to PC and neither the drift. Why r* is doing this i cant understand
