GTA V's game play is better than IV in basically every way. Better combat hands down, better AI hands down no questions asked, more customization hands down no questions asked, better driving hands down, more story choices, better open world hands down no questions asked, better player homes, better online
but its bad optimized and the graphics are bad. i run gta 5 better than gta 4 on my laptop.. plus, you cant parachute, cant do stunt races, cant fly a hydra, cant have a dog like franklin does, cant buy nice cars, you cant modify cars, cant modify weapon colors and improvements, and the list goes on..you can do a lot of fun things.. atleast in gta 4 you can go bowling xD
and the car scratching things, just an illusion. its a pattern that is randomized or set to repeat. most of the gta5 effects are because its easier to manage patterns than fully set textures and effects
Yes but all these patterns and little things spread apart create the illusion of randomness. Often when noticing detail in the last of us or uncharted, two games praised for detail, I see at most five variations of things like chipped paint or grass or cars, but they are spread out enough and intertwined with one another to create an illusion. That's really all games are.

Game made in 2013 and it's still relevant. During that time Ubisoft released three Assassin's Creeds, two Watch_Dogs and one (and a half) Far Cry(s). And GTA 5 is still kicking ass.

If it's a big bush, the roots can effectively form a small trunk, of sorts. Basically it could definitely do some permenant damage to your car if you hit a big bush at a decent speed

They should make an MP3 player that you can get out whenever you’re on foot and listen to music from the game radio, or you could listen to your own music from a computer folder.
Gaflgon I play in full screen, not windowed mode. That would be too much trouble. Plus, it’d be kind of neat if you could do that with your stereos on your properties too, so when you have friends over we can all listen the same thing . It’s just small details could make the game more immersive
+Vucko100 put in part 2 a difference between lights of modern and old car, I mean in modern cars less light goes on left side and more to a right side, when in old cars lights just focused on center. Gameplay wise, GTA IV actually had very little attention to detail, especially compared to V. You could basically walk around in IV and point your weapon at every NPC on the street and all of the other NPCs around, even the cops, wouldn't bat an eyelid. What it did better, to some extent, was the collision models for cars and the Euphoria physics (which were still incredibly exaggerated in some instances, like simply bumping into somebody and sending them into a drunken balancing act).
Angel Hernandez Remember that this game was originally for last gen consoles. They simply upgraded it a little for current gen and PC. Now imagine what they can do with GTA 6, a game made for current gen!
When you think about it, Gta5 is one of the greatest game of our time. The game came out in 2013 and its 2017 now and thousands of players still play this game, and it's still getting better and better every update. Big thanks to the artists and developers for this amazing game..

Actually, signal lights ARE a thing in GTA V. Just no way to actually use them as far as I know. But they are there and do work. They've popped on randomly for me whenever I have the GPS set and need to turn.
Sagara Sousuke you can slam into a wall at full speed in GTA V and get a slight scratch and maybe a headlight burst, crash like that on GTA IV and the front of your car fucking implodes
White. .Money It really does. Out of all of the GTAs I've played (only missed out on London 1969), IV was the only story I struggled through for boredom reasons. Way too slow of a burn for an action game. Not to mention the story was basically start -> save Roman -> kill a guy -> save Roman -> save Roman again -> kill that other guy -> save Roman -> end.

eh, all of these are pretty expected in such a high budget game. heck you should see half life 1, the freaking bugs on the floor have pretty advanced AI.
Adrian Annyndra alot of them are pretty crap, but alot of studios can make something better than this with the same budget and time. Plus I'm fairly sure if GTA 4 had a bigger budget and more time it would be more detailed than this. In many ways it already is. Alot of Devs these days have simply ran out of passion.
***** there aren't many games with as big of a world, but many have more detail, and I'm sure if another studio had 350 million dollars to make a game they would put more detail into it. Even GTA 4 had many more details looking back. GTA 5 feels like it has the bare minimum and that's it. Same with the story and gameplay IMO. I still play online alot, but that's a complete mess.
***** well GTA 4 has far better physics, and far more nice details and improvements like scraping your car on a wall and car damage. It's got far more interiors and far better fist fighting. Some cars have abs and some do not, ragdolls have built in animations instead of just flopping over, you can shoot guns out of people hands and what not. there's a video which shows all the detail 4 has over 5 (GTA 4 is better than GTA 5 I think). As for the story and gameplay, it's very authentic. Unlike 5 where it's simply "money makes you miserable, so let's rob a bank", it's a true perspective into the tragic and corrupted life you get being a criminal. As for other game Devs; don't underestimate them, single people in the beamng community have made maps as large as GTA 5s, and games like crysis 3 look better and have better graphics techniques even though it's so old.

The witcher 3. That's a masterpiece. They had 2 expansion packs that are about as long as GTA V story mode itself. And all together they're 30 bucks. GTA V is only OK. Bully, that game, your profile picture, is amazing. Especially for it's time.
Let's not forget, although it has lesser quality, GTA V came out on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Just the idea of GTA V running on those consoles just shows you how incredible the PS3 and Xbox 360 are.
On Xbox One/PS4/PC it shows a low res real time map reflection, so you can see the ground and buildings in the rear view, and even headlights of cars at night, but it's hard to see.

As an electrician I like to notice how they install outside panels & all the wiring. It's pretty spot on although it's in poor condition lol but that just adds to the realism. Anyways, good video.
1:25 HOW do you get dynamic shadows when you're OUT of the car? My game's graphics are maxed out and still I get dynamic headlight shadows ONLY when I'm driving. As soon as I step out of the car, dynamic shadows are disabled. Any idea?
***** I found the Driving in GTA IV more fun because you actually had to be careful with how you drive and it felt like it had more depth to it other than just driving fast, also it wasn't slow. Fast cars and bikes were always near by. Escaping from the police is too easy in GTA V. This is just a preference of mine.
The driving model in GTA IV was atrocious. Most cars handled like boats. I think the GTA V handling model is much more enjoyable, grippy and also more "arcade-like", which makes the game even more fun. And there is a big handling difference between most cars.

I don't remember clothes moving with Geralt's body's shape in The Witcher 3. Don't remember TW3 having proper window reflections at all. Don't remember TW3 having rich people walking their pets in the cities either. Neither do I remember TW3 having realistic scratches on the boat when it bumps into a rock or any sort of realistic deformation in the wood. Don't remember leaves flying around when Geralt whacks a bush. Don't remember Geralt or Roach slowing down at all when they go through heavy bushes when riding off-road. Don't remember TW3 having much destruction at all in the cities besides the occasional fence or crates. Although ugly here, I don't remember Geralt's muscles moving realistically when he's shirtless. I don't remember guards pulling their comrades into safety when you injure but don't finish off someone. I don't remember water leaving a trail on the ground behind you when you get back onto solid land after swimming. I don't remember TW3 having any realistic ragdolling at all. I don't remember women getting creeped out and calling for help or walking away quickly when the so called "mutant" and "freak" starts tailing them. I could actually go on and on about how much more of this GTA V has. The Witcher 3 is a solid game and the writing and choice consequences are top-notch in the attention paid to them, but the game simply doesn't come close to GTA V on a technical level of detail.
The99DragonSlayer just because the witcher 3 doesn't focus on the same small details, doesn't mean it doesn't focus just as much on other small details. Just look up the witcher 3 attention to detail, and you'll see plenty.
Watch Dogg 1 is actually a good game with a great story but sometimes i think watch dog 1 don't show all he's capacity Ubisoft could make more detail in this game like in far cry
The only reasons worth getting a good PC are steam sales, free online gaming, and frame rates (although not as good a reason as the first two reasons). If these don't bother you and you just want it for the two bonus details like the ones shown in this video, which you most often won't even notice, then don't bother.
Cuz in gta 4 you could go inside hundreds of random buildings, cops acted like real cops, more realistic car and NPCs getting shot physics, longer more serious story, and so on
I never really was a gamer in those times. So I only played gta IV at friends home. Not really nostalgia worthy. But first time playing gta V I was really disappointed I couldn't get into random buildings. Not even into the hospital. I mean grafics are insane, and looking at this video, they only have gotten better on pc. But they took a lot great stuff out of the game. Again check out the video of Crowbcat.
The sirens in this game are not realistic at all. Shooting the lightbar will do nothing to the siren. The speaker is in the grill normally and if that gets shot, it just stops working. The siren amp itself is in the cab of the car, usually in the center console, and if that gets shot, again it just stops working.
pc is for nerds that have way to much time on there hands and have fucking custom made computers, no life head ass. Thats why i prefer a simple ps3 or ps4
To have a custom built PC doesn't make EVERYONE who owns one a nerd with too much time, or a no life head ass. I have a custom built PC but I certainly have a social life and don't waste my day on it. (Although i'm willing to bet 75% of people who invest in beefy gaming PCs spend shittons of time on it rather than in real life)

Erlend Holmen Videogames have a long ways ahead before looking anywhere near as real life. The objects in the real world have certain imperfections and unique textures that would just be too taxing to run and too time consuming to make. If you gave me a side by side comparison of, lets say, The Witcher 3 and the real world. I would instantly know what is real and what is not.
It's kinda funny how in video games you appreciatehow gross everything looks, like "wow look at that rust all over that stone!" "look at the garbage everywhere!" "see how that road is all cracked?!" "wow look how half of the shingles are broken off!" "cool how the poles are all stained!"

Heists themselves probably aren't nearly as popular as they were around release, especially since warehouse missions now fetch roughly the same income and don't require a single loading sequence or cutscene.
