Welcome to Vice City. Welcome to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile. Vice City, a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, was one of the most varied, complete and alive digital cities ever created. Having just made it back onto the streets of Liberty City after a long stretch in maximum security, Tommy Vercetti is sent to Vice City by his old boss, Sonny Forelli. They were understandably nervous about his re-appearance in Liberty City, so a trip down south seemed like a good idea. But all does not go smoothly upon his arrival in the glamorous, hedonistic metropolis of Vice City. He's set up and is left with no money and no merchandise. Sonny wants his money back, but the biker gangs, Cuban gangsters, and corrupt politicians stand in his way. Most of Vice City seems to want Tommy dead. His only answer is to fight back and take over the city himself.

This game has a special meaning for me. I played this while my father is sleeping beside me, playing with our dogs, or sipping some coffee while answering crossword puzzles from old newspapers. I first played this game in my PS2 way back in 2009 and I still have a saved slot for it in my memory card. Every year I save a new slot in order to keep track of the years I spent with this game until there wasn't any available slots anymore. So when my father passed in 2013, it was more than just a game from that moment on. It's indescribable. As a 9 year old kid, I never thought back then that this would be our special bond. Up to this day I'm almost 23 but I still play this game with the same console, the same disc, and the same memory card. Everytime I play my 2009 saved slot, it brings back memories. I feel like I'm a 9 year old again and my father is sitting beside me, sipping coffee, answering some crosswords while watching me play. Though I completed the storyline countless times, I never save or overwrite my 2009 saved slot, I just quit and leave it as it is. I don't want to replace it. This game is a working time machine for me. This is my first time sharing this. I never told anyone about this, not even my relatives. Because for a thought I feel like it's a treasure that I never want to share. I miss my dad and I will always remember him everytime I see this game. P.S. Trust me. The 2009 saved slot is still there and it's still working. Ahh the little things in life

It’s pretty sad to think about Pete and Enid. But I guess Vic’s money was passed onto them and they were able to move on. It kind of makes Lance seem more sympathetic if he betrayed Tommy to get more money for his brother. Then again who knows. Button line, they never should have been involved with the Mafia.

S.A has better ending. Everyone is happy , CJ got his family safety and together , he has parthner of Casino in LV , he has garage in sf also car import dealer , in LS all take over by Grove gang and backup by triads , if you count all side missions he has more propertory than Tommy. Probably CJ more earner than tommy. I wont include personality because after vice city we saw Tommy's real face 🙂 at least CJ treat like a human to Ken...

I like how in definitive edition of Vice City, Tommy has concerned/worried face when he turns back after hearing Sonny mention Lance's name, not knowing Lance betrayed him and it shows that Tommy really cared Lance as a friend until Lance stabbed Tommy in back with Sonny

Recapping what happened before, during, and after the events of Vice City, Tommy was sent by Sonny to kill one man in Harwood but upon arrival there were eleven men and Tommy killed all of them, the police arrived and arrested Tommy. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to fifteen years in a federal penitentiary, fifteen years is because the charges were manslaughter and not murder. After he's released Tommy is sent to Vice City for a cocaine deal but the deal was botched and ended in the death of Harry, Lee and Victor Vance. As the story progressed Tommy realizes that he doesn't need Sonny anymore, this guy screwed him over and as a result Sonny went to Vice City to take over his criminal empire. When Sonny said "You still don't get it do you. I own you Tommy. Those fifteen years were mine to spend" so that line shows that Tommy was Sonny's property. People who view someone as their property are horrible awful people. Lance betraying Tommy hurt players a lot because Tommy helped out Lance a lot and how Lance repaid Tommy was selling him out to Sonny. And Lance is a moron for selling Tommy out to Sonny because if Tommy was killed, Sonny would've betrayed Lance as well. Sonny is a very greedy Don, he won't split Tommy's business with Lance and instead get rid of him as well.

Fun fact: In GTA Vice City, the final mission is the last mission you complete which is not technically Keep your Friends close. Keep Your Friends close can be unlocked early upon finishing the Estate missions and Asset missions on the 2nd island. After you choose to play Keep your friends close while you leave other missions undone they can still be available.

This mission was so easy on mobile, considering the game gives you auto aim. Just sat there with an M60 1 tapping everyone. I also managed to 2 tap Lance before he made it into the hallway.

Unlocking Phil’s place and the big machine gun made this mission so much simpler, I was able to kill Lance in the house still before his second cut scene, you leave the room and come back and you can kill the rest of the mafia pretty easily.

The way you killed Sonny was cool, very Scarface like, with the Carbine Rifle. This trilogy made a bit of a bad impression on me. The lighting is off, so are character models, and while it’s graphics are improved and I appreciate that NPCs’ models are more varied now, it doesn’t outweigh the bad unfortunately. These games are still good as they are in their current versions. The original releases I mean. The OG games:

Two bad ass actors playin the best roles in this flick. We grew up knowing they were beyond this but they suited and made this game perfect. RIP Ray Liotta and Tom Sizemore aka Tommy Vercetti and Sonny Fiorelli, you made my childhood growing up.

I just noticed they removed a voice line in Cortez's phone call. After Cortez says, "Oh thank you Tommy, Tommy thank you, the shame would be unbearable." He'll say another line, "She's a lady, not a parasite, you know". Idk why they removed that.

hardest mission. I died over and over again. There so much enemies you cant even defeat. They keep spamming and shoot your armor and health steady down.

I gotta admit...I always hated this mission. I thought it was poorly done as a finale to a great game. GTA missions aren't supposed to be hard but a bit of difficulty on the last one is welcome. This one feels lazily designed. Whether its how Sonny and his goons come in to talk, to how they break off the cutscene and you're magically in your main room and Sonny is out somewhere else, Lance somewhere else and Ken. Very clumsy design. They could have really done a Scarface like approach where goons come out of every entrance and with heavy volume making it a real challenge for Tommy. Could've had a way for more goons or just one to come from behind through the window like Scarface had...just so many more ways to make this better.
