03:46 DRLs are your daytime running lights. There are a small strip of lights that are on during the day, and aren't as bright as the headlights. If you set your lights on auto, the sensor will turn on your headlights when its dark, like going through a tunnel or a dark parking lot. If you turn off auto, only YOU have the power to select the headlights on or off.
There is a sensor light on your middle dashboard close to the windshield, if u puts on auto, it will turn off if because there is enough light from the sun during a day. If u cover the sensor it will be on all the time.
Even at night they'll shut off randomly when the sensor is getting no light, I have to flick em on and off in order for them to come back on. They are excellent light, they only got that flaw, if you can live with that like I can you'll be good
I have a 2015 chevy suburban, it has the same h11 halgeon projector as you, and I purchased the gtr lighting ultra 2 also before, then I returned to exchange the S-V.4. The S-V.4 perform 2X better than the gtr lighting ultra 2 in Chevy trucks and you can see the Hotspot and the beam pattern clearly with the S-V.4. The gtr lighting ultra 2 will only works good with a crystal clear lens projector.
I always tell people this fact. Sometimes certain brand led bulbs work better in a few brands type of projectors. Like these bulbs are not very good in the oem Toyota halogen projectors either but the SV4 and Xenon Depot and Morimoto 2 Stroke 3.0 all work very well in those projectors where the GTR Lighting ultra 2 does not. At least not the set I got and tested. Glad you got a brand that works well in your vehicles projectors. Sometimes people settle too easy. You pay a lot for the LED’s so you should send them back if they don’t perform well and buy a set until you find one that works almost like factory just brighter.
They are suppose to mimic your old build not for blinding people I got the GTR CSP MINIS FOR MY 2015 Jeep with projection headlights they are suppose to work better will let u know I’ve been running hid from headlight revolution and seem to be great
This is great, if I wind up getting a 2017 GMC Acadia I’ll do these for an upgrade. Question, how is the fan noise? How about wet weather? LED’s normally suck in the rain.
@@JAA-sf8yo when he said leds r normally suck in the rains he meant that white colors are known that they don't let you see good enough in the rain or foggy places
Maybe morimoto 2Stroke 3.0 led bulbs will be better for you. It is 5500k, seal cooling design, so driving in the rain is not a problem, and you can not hear the noise from the fan.
@@marcoyuen6556 yeah, I’ve changed my mind on the Acadia though, has a widespread issue with the onboard computer not recognizing it’s in park. Don’t want my wife to get stuck with that.
@@bris9984 that makes absolutely no sense, HID lights do not nearly produce as much heat as halogens do, neither do they require a ""fan"" as there are no electronics in the bulb that require a low operating temperature to function. the only reason led's have fans is that their operating temperature should preferably be below 70 degrees Celsius, otherwise it will harm the lifespan of the led chips. @Abode Moose : the lifespan of an HID is between 6000 and 24000 hours, lifespan of an LED light with proper driver would be around 50000 hours or so, though i find that its more commonly the drivers failing, rather then the LED's themselves, so yes, HID bulbs last around 25 times shorter then LED bulbs.
@@wormsmaster1994 idiot im talking about the housing my leds never melt my bulb housing im just stating what hids melt the fuck out of housings and they are very well know for that
@@bris9984 That's why you SHOULDN'T NEVER USE pnp hid kits in a reflector housing. First you look like a moron, second you blind TF out of everyone else on the road.
The reason they say that these are for fog lights only is for the legality of selling them. They can legally sell them for fog lights. But once you say that they’re for sale to be installed in headlights then it becomes illegal. So YES you can use them in your headlights and many do. But to be frank they are not meant to be used in fogs or headlights more than the other. It’s just that for some reason in the USA the government seems to not care how bright we make our fog lights but headlights are limited to certain bulb types and colors. Even HID bulbs technically should not be sold for use in headlights but that’s why they sell them for “off road use only” and wording like that usually. That way if someone installed them in headlights and tries to sue them, they can say we sell them for off road use only or for Fog lights only. Etc etc.
Dude, No LED can take lower voltage like how simple resistor/halogen bulb can. The LED driver only work at minimum 11V not 6V light in DRL. Your halogen bulb is just simple tungsten, and can take any voltage, as low as 1V, the power is V2/R. R is constant, so in DRL mode, you only take 1/4 of power
I was checking the GTR lighting website and when I selected the H11 for headlight it didn't let me proceed. I did also see the headlight revolution video that tests them for headlights. They definitely look bright in your video.
Yeah they are bright, I’m very pleased and keeping them, any issues I got, I can just flicker the on and off switch manually to fix it if they randomly just cut off lol
As far as DRLs go they are made for low light overcast or foggy days. It’s not going to come on in auto when the suns flat out shining. I live in SC. I have a 2011 Silverado and wife has a 2010 Suburban. Both operate as designed. I’m a Chevrolet Technician of 10 years
This might be new to you and many people who use these to replace their halogen headlights. These are not street legal in the US. I'm not saying it's a big deal but you should not use it on the street cuz even when adjusted correctly, they are still too bright and blind people on the street.
@Mason Rome Exactly! There are a lot of great LEDs on the market now.....such as what Mercedes Benz use. They're one of the best LEDs on the market....but HID is still King at the moment
@@AssadNiang no LED OEM or not can come close to a Philips X-tremeVision Gen 2 Xenon bulb, there are many tests that prove this. Xenon is still the king of lighting, it’s just not as flexible as LED. If you think LED is brighter that’s just the blue light glaring back into your eyes. On a Lux meter nothing beats a Philips XTV Gen 2 bulb. This is why in the rain or bad weather LED’s aren’t even as good as halogens.
HED's & HID'S are garbage 🗑️ AF and have been for awhile now! The new & improved LED's are way better in every way nowadays!!! I gave my HED'S & HID's away!
