Ive just recently repaired my manifold and turbo gaskets on my 2009 zd30 nissan patrol. Ohh boy it wasn’t easy...especially getting the Egr on and off. The truck now runs as new again
Hi, It's meant to be all studs for the manifold to the head. There is a combination of 2 studs and 1 bolt on the egr pipe that bolts to the back of the manifold.
Don’t cancel out the possibility of the EGR pipe gasket ( EGR Pipe which runs around the back of the head from exhaust manifold to EGR ) that was my issue.
Yes, they can have a similar sound. Once the cats start to block the exhaust will find anyway out. The egr pipe usually either brakes off at the manifold or splits the seam.
It takes about 8 hours depending on how many studs are broken. The cost also varies and can sometimes include a replacement manifold and or intake hose but is generally $1600-$2400. The new exhaust is an extra $1200. If you do the full job, you are fixing the car for the long term so as much is it is a bit of an outlay you can expect reliable motoring once it completed.
Hi, It does vary a little but budget about $2000 for the manifold repair and then plus the exhaust if you don't already have one. We have moved to replacing the manifold as instead of Machining now as the price of the manifold from Nissan has come right down
