Don't forget us from Duaa, may allah bless you. == Increasing Breathing Capacity == Major Factors of Lung's Capacitiy : 1_ Tone : - Stay always in your comfort zone of your tone. - Try to recite in different tones and identify the best one for you. - Pay attention to the loud of your voice. 2_ Posture (specially in prayer) : - Your head should stay in upright position, to allow air to flow throw the wind pip without issues. 3_ Breathing Techniques : • Action 1 (Inhaling) : - Only through the nose - Inhale breath deeply • Action 2 (Diaphragmatic Breathing) : - Take a deep breath without your shoulders or chest moving up. • Action (Reciting) : - Focus producing the sound from Chest - if not able, then tighten your abdomin muscels. • Action 4 (Finishing) : - Do not recite till Suffocating, this will tire you. Exercises : 1_ Tarteel Exercises : - Inhale 4 Harakat - Keep it in 4 Harakat - Exhale with safir sound 4 Harakat (you can increase the amount of harakat in step 2 and 3, but keep the step 1 always four harakat) 2_ Blowing a balloon (a very famous exercise) 3_ Hams Letters (هاء، ح، س، ش): - Practice proper technique to spend fewer air on these letters. 4_ Madd Choices : - Dongate mandatory Madd, and skip the optional ones. Tips : 1_ Consider if you have "Bad Slepp", "Full Stomach" or you were "Fatigue", "Stressed/Scared". All of these can affect your breath badly. 2_ Consistent Practice -> Best Remedy How to know your current capacity to mesaure your progress ? - Make your goal reading Alfatiha in One Breath. And you can add a short sorah then if you want.

To my knowledge, it is Sunnah to stop at each ayah of Al-Fatihah

Glad you mentioned diaphragm breathing, took me too long to figure that out

To clarify for some about the Fatiha part of the video: Yes, it’s recommended to pause at each ayah but this applies mainly to prayer. This increases focus. However, the brother has a strong point with trying to recite the entire Fatiha in one breath. Of course you usually won’t do this in practice but it’s a really good way of seeing how long you can hold your breath. There’s also nothing wrong with paying in an ayah, just repeat the last couple words and carry on. As an example, Sheikh Yasser Ad-Dossari often recites the 6th and 7th ayah together but pausing near the end of the 7th to gain his breath. Other reciters such as Hussari do each one and pause then performs the entire of the 7th. These older reciters such as Hussari, Abdul Baasit, etc. may not always be appropriate for practical recitations because of their often 10 second (or more) pauses between verses and slower speed. But they’re really good for understanding how each sound should be made. I use two Qur’an apps. One for reading in English which I have Hussari on for individual verses that I may struggle with a word or two. My other app, I mainly use Mishary Alafasy because he focuses on each letter without sacrificing speed. You should find the reciter that best suits your pitch. Medium to higher pitch - Mishary Alafasy. For medium to quite high you can try Yasser Ad-Dossari, try to find more recent recitations he follows Tajweed better than he used to. Low to medium - Khalil Hussari or Sheikh Minshawi. Very high - Abdul-Rahman-Al-Ossi. Medium - Mahmood AlBana. If you have a strong northern African accent that can’t be suppressed in recitations you can try Sheikh Noreen Muhammad. السلام عليكم

Assalamu Aliakum brother, can you make a series of about preservation of Quran and doubts about it. Moreover giving the answers of doubts about 33 different versions of Quran that no Muslims make

I've always wanted to know this. The posture factors like u had shown, most if not all imams always have their neck upright, but it'll make their eyes to look ahead instead of looking down to the sutrah. Isn't the sunnah is to look at the sutrah? I don't recall seeing any famous reciters/imams practicing this sunnah. I do aware some of them do it because of the microphone, but, seriously, even if there were none, never in my life i see them looking below. Or there's something i don't know?

JazaakaAllah khayran, it's the exact problem i have. Question, those breathing exercises can be done before starting to do daily Quran reading/muraja3ah or should be done after or at a separate time?

This has always been a challenge for me because of deviated septum (50% less nose to breathe through) and rotated pelvis (causing a weak core and back). It’s held my recitation back a lot as I can only breathe from my mouth and neck rather than my stomach and back being able to hold the breathing motions. I also can’t breathe in through my nose without an unwanted noise. Leading taraweeh on the last few nights of Ramadan was a real struggle as I had to stop in many places to catch my breath and not make breathing sounds into the microphone.

Can't emphasize enough how important the sunnah of eating less (not filling your stomach) is for recitation!!! Try reciting while fasting and you will fall in love with the experience to the point of never wanting to fill your stomach again, just for the sake of recitation. I would say the most important points the Ustaz mentioned are to recite DAILY, even if for just 5 mins, and to only ever fill your stomach 1/3 with food

Secondly, how can I train myself to make my harakat consistently equal in length given that I am very rhythm deaf, I regularly have a continuum between 3 - 5 harakat when I thought I was doing 4 harakat?
