Arrival, military honors, departure of the guard battalion on the occasion of the visit of the Polish president Andrzej Duda in Berlin - long version of the recordings of the honor formation
@@frasierkrane3593 the Jägers not goose stepping is understandable and the Marines but the normal troops should. Its kinda odd how they are slowly losing military tradition
@@taka-chan6834 Slowly?Already lost since Bundeswehr was made. The true last german army is the NVA (National Peoples Army or Nationale Volksarmee),they kept their prussian traditions and doctrine even if they got influenced by commies
@@wolfen8619 not really. They kept most of their tradition, except their uniforms are not at all prussian but everything else is fine really. Theres a video of Bundswehr soldiers goose stepping
As a former drummer in a Scottish Pipes and Drums unit, Great Martial music never fails to move me. Don't care what country. The Germans do it well, have my respect.
Thank you, a great German! We Japanese love Otto Eduard Leopold Fürst von Bismarck-Schönhausen. Thanks to him there is Japan. We Japanese sent 9,000 cherry blossom trees to Germany in 1990. It is said that the money of this cherry blossom trees is gathered by the donation of the Japanese and bought a cherry blossom trees . Almost all Japanese people participated in donations. The Japanese always cooperate with Germany. This cherry blossom tree is still in Berlin. We Japanese love Germany and Germans very much. Germany and Germans are great.
This is a lot better than any Americans, British or French military. This German approach to the old Prussian context and music is great and remarkable and I love the German National Anthem.
I totally agree .. the best marches in the world .. but they subdued all that was at one time German glory ! Even changed the National Anthem .. no nation has ever been that humiliated ..sorry o say ..
Yes, of course, the government after WWII was forced to lie to the children .. who thought that all their grandfathers and fathers were murderers. I am often in tears when I am reminiscent of my childhood during this terrible war, that included the destruction aimed at civilians. Although, I live now in the USA I still hold my country deeply in my heart and I feel very sorry that many Germans have become so totally brainwashed and those speaking our are incarcerated. The Bundeswehr is not the Soldier it was at one time. How I loved them when marching though the streets and singing. . their boots pounding the cobble stones. These men still are my heroes.
@VerwegenG36 You're familiar with the traditions that were given to you post 1945. If you can even call something that has lasted for 60 years a tradition.
@VerwegenG36 A lot of traditions/uniform largely associated with the Wehrmacht & the Nazis, were already pre-established parts of the German military, dating back to World War 1 - I cite the Stahlhelm for instance. Likewise, many songs associated as being 'Nazi era' songs, are simply not that. 'Wenn Wir Marschieren' for instance, is a WWI era song - but is incorrectly treated as a Nazi era one, and thus is not considered appropriate for use. In doing so, you're essentially disregarded a large part of your national heritage. As a foreigner, It is sad I can take more pride in your history than you can - in modern day Germany, you cannot show a swastika, but a hammer and sickle is more than welcome. >"that the wehrmacht does not serve the bundeswehr as a rolemodel and that its values are not compatible with a free Democratic Republic." The Wehrmacht is the collective creation of centuries worth of military tradition put into practice - unlike today where the German military tries to avoid a certain look, they were establishing a look. AND they established a very unique and stylish one, take some notes 'Bundeswehr'. >"a rolemodel and that its values are not compatible with a free Democratic Republic." The Bundeswehr is the representation of a neutered and shamed Germany; who has to walk around eggshells, lest it comes to terms with it's own history.
Excellent showing of our German neighbours, thoroughly enjoyed it. Hearing the Polish anthem being played by a German military band feels surreal. Hello from across the Oder!
Glad people still enjoy seeing our army. You might not be able to tell, but it seems like most germans here are pissed off and think we should just go back to Prussian or Nazi uniforms and marches. sad.
today's bundeswehr still retains many aspects of prussian/reichswehr uniform though,.... feldgrau, cuff, collars, etc....uniforms of armed forces worldwide do evolve in the course of decades, n I think today's german army's uniform bear more resemblances to older days' uniforms compared to (e.g) US, or my country's armed forces (indonesia)
Why does it feel surreal? Are we not all people who share this planet .. but carved it up into nations for tribal purposes. We all love that piece of soil we think we possess and people want peace. Of course, that will never happen if the politicians and old men have their way.
Absolutely wonderful to hear the German Army band start their parade with the same number they started their victory parade through Warsaw on 8 October 1939. The Polish President must have been ecstatic!!!! And Prussian Glory was the first bit of music I ever marched onto a parade square to.
These are the old Prussian marches and I love it that you keep them up and are proud of them. Because, now as a German who immigrated to Canada I am still very proud of your heritage and so should you be.
Heritage: Good---Bach, Beethoven, Luther, Goethe, Mendelssohn, Mercedes Benz, Porsche. Bayer. Einstein, and much more. Military marches? They should use many marches, including those from their allies, like the marches of John Philip Sousa! Well not stars and stripes forever but there are other choices.

I have heard a lot of Military Bands in my years of playing in them and nothing to me was more moving than The Royal Marine Band when they played in 1982 in the New Haven Colesium.
In Hamburg waren recht viele Marineoffiziere dabei.

The goose step was only used in two occasions: 1) Marching past 2) Guard changing If there is no occassion like that, the goose step won't be used. The Bundeswehr sees itself as prussian "Light Infantry" which never goose steped. Only the "Line Infantry" marched in goose step at one of these two ocassions. The rest marched in the prussian "Gleichschritt" which the Bundeswehr still does. And parades where quite rare at the of the German Empire. So just shut up and stop complaining about the Bundeswehr. Everything they do is traditional according to the prussian drill rules. Greetings from a german Reserve-Lieutenant 🇩🇪
The chilean army has embraced the prussian tradition from the 1880's. And they still march wearing the pickelhaube and the stalhelm at the preussen glory sound. However, this german troops are really impressing in their coordination and gallantry. Congratulations.

Armselig! Wen sonst als Theodor Körner will man in so einem Moment zitieren: "Nun sitzt Ihr da oben......" Respekt für die Kameraden des Wachbataillons. Semper Talis!
What is the intro fife and drum called? The preamble with Preußens Gloria is superb, marshal excellence! Also nice order arms, one snap, rifles on the deck with intensity...
Good to see the Germans embracing their long and proud military heritage. The past is the past. Just get rid of those grey jackets and black trousers. Go with one or the other. 😀
Oh really? What heritage would that be alleged Irishman (which I doubt---this being the land of sock puppets and anti-democracy trolls). Picking upon little Denmark 1866 and then their fellow German speakers in Austria? Setting up France for a war of aggression 1870? Giving a blank check to Austria Hungary in 1914? Oh yeah, how "proud" like when they were the first to use chemical warfare in the First WW? Yes we should not, must not, blame young modern Germans and I do not. Today they are our allies and a great nation. But you have a fondness for all black uniforms on Germans and we all know what forces wore those in 1933 to 45. Nostalgic for that? Disgusting.
How appropriate for a German military band entertaining the President of Poland to be playing Preussens Gloria -especially now that Prussia is part of Poland.
When Germany cannot even get the simples correct - like prioritising the interests of the German people over for instance, that of foreign peoples such as somalians & syrians - than Germany fails to be what Bismarck envisioned it - a unified *German* state. It may as well be an international zone under the authority of the UN if it decides to be the world settlement for all misguided peoples.@@MsMieze
