The footballing world has paid tribute to Diego Maradona after his death at the age of 60. 'The amount of joy and pleasure and his commitment for world football. He made world football better,' said Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. Maradona's former teammate Jorge Valdano broke down and could hardly speak when asked about his memories of the Argentinian legend

Me too. From Argentina... I felt into devastation when I saw him. The lady never understood... I have to let the world to know...."the man who passed me by the ball for my most epic moment in the soccer history...is dead". How many feelings in that moment....gooseskin.

Me too. Since he passed the outpouring of love for what Diego meant to people and to football has been so wonderful. Football is the greatest. A man like Diego made it even greater.

@@eliasalfian1243 and in the best/most challenging league ever. Italy had all the greatest players/teams on the planet. He did not have the super team, like many players do today, he had to beat the super teams: Platini`s Juventus, Rumenigge`s Inter, Van Basten/Rijkaard/Gullit/Maldini`s Milant etc. etc. Also the pitches were terrible back in those days and he had no protection, often playing under cortisone injections because he was getting killed each game by assassins defenders. All while calling out the social injustice against the south of Italy. I can`t state enough how legendary it was, it`s like a comic book character or something.

Valdano's reaction says it all. This is the man that scored the winning goal in 86, and a man who suddenly realized that the golden days (and in fact the sweet moments in life as such) are irreversibly over.

I saw Valdano's devastation face...in Spain. He was another player of that dream-team in Mexico 86. The one who scored 2-0 for Argentina. After a passing of Maradona. Many people who plays a soccer game in a Playstation, does not understand ... Maradona Played ProEvolutionSoccer or FIFA 86. and he knew every trick 10 years before than another human. Every combination, circle box triangle and cross. That was Maradona, the best player ever.
