Drop Top Wop just released and listening to "tho freestyle" i realized why i love him so much. its 2017, he's had multiple hiatuses and being an avid rap fan (lil wayne being my favorite alive, pac - best of all time) hes still the ONLY artist, that as soon as he drops a tape i listen to the whole thing beginning to end just fucking shaking every other line. it's been the same way since middle school when Traphouse came out. He's had commercial hits since the early 2000's i remember playing kickball to Freaky Girl in middle school on mainstream radio. But he is the DEFINITION of Mixtape Rap. he's been involved in the second most iconic rap fued in the history of the world - ending in gucci firing his AK naked, dropping the bodies behind a school and going home to a chick. back to the music. He's releases more mixtapes in a month then tracks rappers release in a year - so we hear alot of his creativity, his lyricism and metaphors arent that of Waynes Caliber but he's not that type of rapper. His style is VERY east coast: killer flow, hard hitting simple lines. YET - when was the last time a rapper rhymed something with Metropolis? gucci mane has literally wrote a dictionary of lingo that whiteboys been saying since 2006. Listening to his brand new Tho Freestyle has gotta be his hardest hitting of the year. you listen to it and just shiver - this dudes not a poser, litterally has done every thing he's talking bout - gangster fucking shit, not Waynes "kidnap yo girl, kill yo body leave em dead in the living room" Gucci is a Hood legend and you feel it in the music, could be your first into to the man - its authentic. He has done nothing but reinvent himself for the past 20 + and is the only true rapper still dropping 100+ tracks a year
