I have dry skin myself year round for the most part and only gets worse in the winters. If you have similar skin, are prone to dry patches, I find it’s best to stamp and press rather than drag the brush across the face. I personally feel you get a smoother finish, and sometimes can get better coverage. The dragging of the bristles, no matter natural or synthetic can emphasize and exaggerate dry skin/patches. Hope someone finds this helpful.

It’s supposed to be available on Sephora on January 1. I’m going to wait until then and order it using their shade finder. The Gucci website makes it too hard to determine which shade I need.

It’s a bummer it didn’t work for you. I purchased the foundation and primer and really like it. My skin type is normal with a touch of oiliness around the nose, chin and temples so your theory may be spot on about skin type. Maybe at some point you can get a sample of the primer to try to see if that makes a difference for you. Thank you for all your Mishmas videos and I’m looking forward to all your great content next year.

Thank you so much for this awesome review! You've saved me both in money & in the annoyance I would've experienced had I purchased this foundation. I was eyeing this foundation, but you're review told me all I needed to know. As an aside, when you mentioned the pimple you were having problems resisting picking (I feel ya, lady!), a product that has really helped me with that very issue has been hydrocolloid patches from either Hero Cosmetics or Peace Out Skincare. They are circular, translucent stickers that you peel off of a sheet & plop right down over the offending pimple. Hero Cosmetics has two different versions, one with acne-fighting ingredients (which is superb for those deep-seated, painful zits that take days to surface) & one without (which work beautifully in safely drawing out the gunky buildup of surface pimples). Peace Out's versions all include acne-fighting ingredients. I've used all three versions from both companies, & they all work wonderfully. Having a tiny barrier to block my fingers from picking has truly helped me, & as a bonus, by not picking my skin, I have much less hyperpigmentation from acne.

Michele, use a cotton bud, dipped in glycolic acid directly onto a blemish, repeat nightly. I promise you, any spot/pimple etc, will be gone in a few days and zero scarring or residue. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 Edit : The Ordinary have a wonderful glycolic acid.

Merry Christmas Eve, goth Michele. I can't wait to see what Santa brings Miss Butters. I've heard wonderful things about this foundation. Unfortunately, I have some iffy-dry areas on my face too. I frequently find that longwear foundation and I do not work. I think it's formulated to help people with more oily complexions keep their makeup on all day. For me, the drier areas of my face get too dry with these formulas. Like you, I'm a huge fan of Koh Gen Do Moisture foundation. I'm not an "analyze the ingredient deck" person but whatever KGD is doing, it's great and works for my skin. Their Aqua formula is excellent too, but the Moisture is perfection in a tube.

I used the foundation finder tool on the Gucci site (hold my phone to my arm and the tool scans your skin for your shade; I tested it on my neck and got the same result) and it matched me to 180 warm. I waited until you did a review (fingers crossed you did one) because I’m always one step up in shade from you (if you have a forehead shade that’s my match). Thanks Michele. Edit: this review makes my dry skin cry. Glad I didn’t order it.

So, you and I have identical makeup tastes...(I've been watching you for a long time so i know!) ...and what I want to say is that you NEED to try the Makeup Forever Reboot foundation!!! It is magical in that it doesn't cover anything, but it it evens and blurs and just really perfects the skin...and I am hesitant to say this because this is thrown around all the time about foundations, but it actually looks like skin!!! I mean, I cannot even tell I have any foundation on when I use it, truly!!! I cannot emphasize enough how amazingly beautiful it makes my skin and I know you would love it!! Hi Michele, thanks for your very good and very honest video again, i was curious about this foundation, but having dry sensitive skin too here, it's not for me also. I am having a hard time this time of year with foundation I do like, so I cannot imagine trying new ones. I have the most difficult time on my forehead. I put brightening creams & retinol on my forehead. I am constantly reapplying my makeup on my forehead because of dry patches. I’ll wipe off my makeup and add back my moisturizer and sunscreen. I will go back in with a glowy primer this time and let it sit a few minutes. I then apply my foundation, very gingerly, so I don’t disturb any dry patches.

I was tempted to purchase, yet I also have dry skin, I use more powder than you and that is always my litmus test - how will it wear on/around my nose area. I did purchase the Dior skincare foundation you reviewed and LOVE it. I also must confess...the Gothic look suits you ;)

Any chance you could list your clothing? I love the black shirt cardigan combo but it’s hard to find a nice black button up shirt that doesn’t look awful the minute it’s near a sweater or jacket! What material do you recommend to avoid that?

I love your video! Thank you! In my opinion the powder ruined your experience. Try it definitely with the primer and no powder. I also have a dry skin, but it worked very well for me. I applied only a light moisturizer, then a sample from the Gucci primer and then a sample 220N which looked at first a little yellow and dark for me ( my favorite foundation is Smashbox studio skin 24hr wear in 1.1 ) but as I was blending it with fingertips it changed its color to my complexion color. It has blurring effect and conceals fine wrinkles. I love foundations with more glowing finish but this one made me look younger. It definitely has an effect of a foundation and a powder in one, that is why applying a powder afterwards may not look good. I was going to order 160N but it seems a little bit light on your video. So I am still wondering and have to say the color is a very difficult decision on this product. May be I will get the 220N as the sample seemed to adapt to my color well.

I'm with you, Michele. Definitely doesn't look like a natural finish. Too drying, and too light in color. I also have very dry skin, and I've had several foundations do the same. I'm always leery when a foundation claims to be suitable for all skin types. By the way, my husband just said that you look prettier without makeup. You do have incredible skin. Hey Michele! Do you consider this an "true" luxury foundation? Gucci doesn't own the product anymore, Coty inc does. They own a lot of drugstore brands (no shade to that!) and Kylie Beauty. Even if this product was fab, is it really luxury?

May I ask? Which is your favorite foundation? I have dry skin that I started moisturizing at age 10 and foundations are difficult for me. I would love to know which way you could steer me into finding a happy place with foundation. Most seem drying or within an hour my face has absorbed all the moisture from my products and leaves the foundation looking very dry. Merry Christmas!🎄🎁
