Gudibande Fort and Vatadahosahalli Lake is a getaway from Bengaluru which is hardly known.
So, if you are seeking a quick getaway for a quiet weekend from Bengaluru, a visit to the #GudibandeFort around 90 kms from Bengaluru situated in Chikkaballapur will not fail you. It is a fort carved out from the Rocky Mountain built in the 17th Century. It is an ideal trekking spot for those who find pleasure in the activity. The uphill climb all the way to the top of the fort is very doable and takes an hour to complete. A noteworthy feature of the fort is its seven levels that have interconnected escape pathways that were made for the soldiers to break free in the event of an emergency or battle. This site also boasts of stone-carved sculptures and caves.
At the top of the fort is located an old temple of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is believed that the shivalingam at the temple is one of the 108 Jyotirlingas. The views from the top are impressive enough for the beholder to sit back and admire the beauty of nature. Watching the sun go down its horizon is a good memory you can take home from this place. Another intelligent aspect of the fort is the 19 rock ponds constructed at different levels of the fort in order to harvest rain water.
Nature lovers have another sweet surprise in store for them near Gudibande, the beautiful, peaceful #VatadahosahalliLake which is around 10 kms from Gudibande Fort which is a must visit for nature lovers.
