@Avari Stamps I wish it was, but it’s once a year. It will be Sept 7-10 this year (2023) however we have Vikings staying here throughout the year. June-august being the peak season
I was there at the same location in 2019, think on the second day of the market opening. Have beautiful memories of a beautiful event, as a Viking enthusiast you should definitely visit! Hopefully a nice event will open again this year? I'll be there!
Its more of a tourist attraction than it is a viking settlement.. A little disappointed as when I had heard of this viking village I thought it would be traditional and a traditional living but most there are tourist and there's car parks and cars and busses..
Yes, there are car parking outside, and yes,., tourists come to visit. But if u stay there and get a feel from it, you will see its pretty accurate. But there is some laws and regulations that has to be followed regarding the buildings as that is rules in Norway. Most of the car park actually belongs to the gas station/truck stop, so truckers can take a nap
