Slimane was part of a band Al Fursaan in Hay Mohamedie Casablanca, the birth place of le legendary Nass El Ghiwane, Lemchaheb, Tagadda, Sihaam and all other bands from the 70's, he kept his passion for music when he moved to France with Fusion/Nass El Ghorba in Meaux city, he was a big influence on me in terms of Music as I grew up looking up to him and dreaming to become one day a musician just like him!
This a little tribue to my brother who I miss dearly, the song was recorded in 1988 in Meaux, France in a recording studio, unfortunately after few takes and recording session for other songs, the project was disbanded as the band members couldn't keep up, also due to the expanses, my brother kept a tape (Cassette) which was given to him by the studio, however the tape got badly damaged but I did my best to recover some of the songs including this one, and remove a lot of hissing and crakles through the use of pluggins and other programs as well as removing parts of the song and remaster into this final result.
My brother was delighted by the final result, I remember his last days in the hospital calling me nearly evryday to check the video of the song I've made for him, he was exited and full of life, I remember him asking me to remove parts of the video and put something else instead and cracking jokes. He asked me to add a note to the video to mention all his fellow musicians who were part of this project. I felt like it was a way of saying thank you and farwell.
I will try to recover some other unfinished song whenever I'll have a chance to do so.
Until then, be well and say a prayer to my Slimane, may God have mercy on his soul and may he rest in eternal peace
