I swear I don't know half of those because it's just music from a million variations of Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda games that were popular to play in US in people's childhood, while in my country it was popular to play nothing in their childhood. No kind of consoles were a thing here at that time and PCs cost like a lead bridge

"Axel F" is actually original composition by Harold Faltersmayer, the title of the song is an acronym for Axel Foley, which is a name of the detective in "Beverly Hills Cop" movie (played by Eddie Murphy), the song is title song from the movie's OST. Made in 1985.

As a guitarist, who never learns full songs, this is genius

I might not know a lot of video game music, but this made me realise that a lot of it sounds awesome.

I'm still surprised by how much of my generation's beautiful piano music came from video games.

I feel like it would be interesting to do some data analysis with this, with people marking where in each song they felt it was familiar, where they recognized it, where they remembered a genre/setting/composer, and if they guessed right. It would be easy if you just asked for a list of which songs they got each of those milestones for, but I think the timing would be especially interesting. Anyway, was a fun video :)

I keep seeing a lot of comments about the Green being right hand and blue being left hand. Green is the melody while the blue is the backtrack. Sometimes you switch hands while playing melody because it gets awkward having to play with your arms crossed over eachother to play green with right and blue with left

22:02 the theme actually has a name, it’s called “lifelight”, it’s actually unique compared to a lot of Nintendo music main themes because of that.

I recognized Fi’s theme on the first note. That’s how great I am with ANYTHING Zelda. Now I gotta add this to my playlist.

Axel F, the main theme from Beverly Hills Cop being attributed to that annoying amphibian really grinds my gears.

It had been such a long time since I have played and even thought about pokemon Heartgold, and to hear that again, all the memories came flooding back. Memories of Pokemon and my childhood. A lot of my childhood has been lost from my memory due to time passing. Thank you for bringing some memories back.

I paused during the first note of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy because I thought you already did the previous one, but it was the Athletic Theme (without researching, I am unsure of the difference between them). That first note reminded me of the correct answer, and, studying the chords that I could see, I made my guess: Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky.

So, number 31 was part of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise long before crazy frog ever existed.

I was honestly surprised with the third one because I was thinking it sounded just like one of the themes in avatar but I didn't expect to be right lol.

So a couple of clarifications, #27 from the Legend of Zelda is actually called "overworld", and Axel F was originally made by Harold Falthmayer, however the two notes in the pause make it the crazy frog version.
