this dude just tricked a bunch of hungry hornets, displayed their corpses in front of their nest, and then proceeded to kill the rest of the their nest and the surviving few saw this man just take their nest as a prize and then went to count how many victims he got to display to the entire world. I have a question: Considering how you have no qualms standing by a wasp nest with several invasive tools with plain clothes for protection, and the fact you just idly crushed a needle-baring wasp with your bare finger; how do you not flatten your tires with those gold-plated steel balls?

Usually wasps have small hairs ti keep the water away from their breathing holes (trachea) through its surface tension. by adding soap the surface tension gets eliminated and the liquid can gat all the way to the holes, causing them to suffocate. so it doesn't penetrate the exoskeleton, it just gets past the small hairs on the wasps bodies. just in case anybody was curious about how it works lol

I knew this bag would be great. We use the exact same one for flies. We used to live across from a pasture with some cows and the flies were HORRIBLE. Set 2 of these up (specifically for flies though) and in a matter of minutes it was filling up. By the end of one week we had trapped at least 1,000. And no more fly problem!

We use that homemade wasp trap with the Cola bottle in my area, in Romania, too. I'd just like to add something to the comment you mentioned: add something sour, like fermented fruit or vinegar. Otherwise, the Cola (or anything that's sweet) alone will also attract bees and you'll end up trapping a lot of them.

In addition to the yellowjacket traps, they also make very effective fly traps that look and work the same.

For future reference. Just weigh 1 yellow jacket so you know how much 1 weighs. Then weigh them all and divide the weight of all of them by the weight of the 1. Much simpler than counting them all.
