Guess The Grade - CAC Grading (CACG) Open Box - GSA Morgan Dollars

Prediction: Since it's CACG, everything will be 1 to 2 points lower than it should be.

Very nice GSA’s Ben! The cases are in nice shape too, mine are a little scuffed up.

CAC has really done a nice presentation slab, it's well thought out.

My grades were in the same order but 62, 63, 64 and 65.

The 83 had a pretty heavy clash mark so the VAM would increase its value to me. Glad to see CAC didn't ding it for that.

I got 2/4 right. I had the same exact guesses as Ben. The first 2 could've easily passed as MS63 from PCGS or NGC.

I sent a few coins in and really liked the service, grades, and the submission process was easy. The problem is I live a few minutes away from the Virginia Beach office so I can't justify paying $30 for shipping; so until they allow local pickups, I am going to unfortunately have to pass on using them again for now.

I had 65, 64, 63 and 63 lined up left to right w/ Ben's best to worst.

I remember some fun little "sticker or no sticker" videos a few months pass😊 I got 2 or 4, I called the first two ms62's both ms63's....oh well, batting 500

Ben, like you video and it has sparked a couple of questions. The GSA holders you submitted to CACG, were they the ones that said "silver dollar" or "uncirculated silver dollar" and how does that effect the grading efforts? How does the CACG grading of the GSA slabs effect the price over NCG or PGSC.

I think each grade was off by at least one number. I think the two 62's should have been 63, the 63 should have been a 64 and quite possibly to 65 could have a 66 grade in my opinion.

I would agree 💯% with the grades they gave them. Very nice coins!

*There's a reason CAC graded coins command premiums over the other grading services and you just showed everyone why* *I no longer even bother with NGC Coins. They're grading service is trash...PCGS, even though I still buy them, I look at with a much more discerning eye than I used to, and CAC is the reason why. I am VERY skeptical of anything with an ANACS or ICG label on it. That's unfortunate because, ANACS was the original and the first coin certification service to allow direct submissions.* *What can you say about I Can't Grade, grading service, that hasn't already been said?*

I have a 83 & 84 that might not even grade a 60. I only paid $50 each so I should be OK with them.

Lort... does that mean they grade Washington silver quarters TWO GRADES down?! TEST THIS. And FTR I was off by exactly one grade on each coin.

Grading is always subjective. What is attractive to one person is a dog to another. For me, I buy the coin, not the holder. I've seen too many slabbed coins with an MS-63 grade where the same 'raw' coin with a grade of EF to AU is much better looking.

There's tight and conservative...and then there's ridiculous. I think CAC is often in the ridiculous category just to make a point.

The coin you picked shoukd be everyones coin the one with least amount contact marks period its real easy i told someone other day if you see a lincoln cent in ms68 you will know it when you see it period you dont have to stretch a ms67 into a ms68 you will know it

My question to you Ben is do you think the ms65 could be a ms66 or do you agree solely with cacg ms65 i think it could go 65plus at max its nice but imo not 66

I have to disagree with you grading is based on a scale that has been established so although one may like the look of another coin ie pl or semi pl or dmpl the grade and grading should be done as a standard procedure at all grading companies so should the price of graded coins unless they have toning or varieties then the price should reflect accordingly but realistically a ms65 should be a ms65 at pcgs same at ngc same at cacg the sheldon grading scale breaks it all down easy one reason I am big fan of possible AI grading coins to make a base line for what a ms65 coin is but my ms65 should not be different from your ms65 as well as it should be for John doe ms65
