You didn't highlight the full states for New York or Michigan.

I did better than I thought I would. Lol. It's always the little East coast states that mess me up, so I missed a few of those.

This is one of the few areas where I take things for granted. I just assume that everyone knows this stuff. Although the comments suggest that many people do. I don't quiz or test well, but since 3rd grade, about 42 years ago, the state's location and shape as well as their capitals have come very easy to me. I've learned and forgotten a lot of things, but this has stuck with me for some reason.

I am french : 50/50. The easiest are Hawaï and Alaska, the most difficult are Delaware and the middle of nowhere Kansas.

Got them all of course. Woo hoo. Well I am a geographer by education and one would think that anyone could do it but unfortunately most Americans are clueless about geography.

I started off so strong for the first 1/3 of the quiz. But sadly, I dissapointed myself as it went along. I will definitely familiarize myself more with my maps. Thank you for this excellent quiz.

50/50! No American should get any less. A harder test would be to show just the state by itself. I been to all 50 states, and, I study the US map frequently, because I like it. Looking for new places to see. I made it a point to educate my children on the location of ea. state and it's capitol cities This is a foreign speaker at the beginning.

I believe you skipped Washington state - I never saw it highlighted!

Zooming on the State that's highlighted was such a poor idea... There are only 2 ways to recognize a State: its shape and its location (on the map in general and its proximity with other States). Zooming makes the second way much more difficult.

That was fun. Except zooming in on a random green rectangle. That's quite difficult for a Brit. Not sure I would do a lot better on counties of the United Kingdom if zoomed in and I had to guess based on shape.

(Not american and have never been to the U.S.) I know all the states by name (not that I would be able to mention them all in one attempt) and around half of them I could guess on this map. However, I can put all of the European & South American and most of Asian correctly on the map. Still have trouble with Central America (not Mexico of course lol) and perhaps around half of the African countries all though I haven't tried yet :)

Quizzes are a great way to freshen up on your skills and knowledge. However, if you're going prepare one for RU-vid, you should avoid mistakes. Namely, you didn't highlight the entire states of New York & Michigan.

Wow, I had no idea that Alaska and Hawaii were so close to Texas. I could go see the Alamo, hop on a jet, and be sunbathing on Waikiki Beach in a few hours. Then I could hop on another jet and, in a few more hours, be watching the finish of the Iditarod in Nome!
