Our newspaper had a $5.00 off $30.00 coupon for Aldi. The closest Aldi is about 20 mins away. I’ve been a few times but seeing the prices on the screen makes me want to go & check it out & take advantage of the $5 coupon. I shop regularly at Save A Lot, Publix for the BOGO deals & we drive twice a month to a terrific discount grocery store about 45 miles away, but so worth the trip!!

Oh also I hate cooking bacon too, so I cook about four lbs at once and then put it in the freezer and pull out a few slices when I want it and pop it in the microwave.

I've been doing walmart grocery pickup and I get $10 off every week, which made it cheaper than Aldi actually! My walmart and Aldi prices are within pennies (or cheaper at Walmart) on almost everything I buy. But I missed Aldi!

Do you have a large George Foreman grill or equivalent? The smaller one works too but you have to cut the bacon strips in half. I batch cook bacon now in that and it’s so much easier. I like the grease catches with the little pour spout built in for easy clean up. I went from cooking it in the stove then to the oven and now this is my go to!

hi, tiffanie! i suffer from aldi's envy - none in my area - i hope someday because they do have a good amount of gf products. the closest one is 3 hours away. everything looks so good! really good haul from all the stores. it's best to stock up with good sales and save over the coming weeks. such a deal on the ground beef. we have no kroeger or meiers either. sounds like a virtual desert doesn't it? lol! hugs! ~k

I love the frozen hamburger chubs from Costco. Its 97% lean, so there's nothing to drain off after cooking. If I get chubs from Kroger, I also get the super lean ground sirloin...but the $5/lb price tag kills me.

Are the Costco chubs decent price? I hate how expensive ground beef is. We had switched to ground turkey for a while because it's usually cheaper where we tend to shop, but I like the flavor of ground beef better.

Does anyone know how to keep excess moisture out of the greens and veggies andvsalad.. we don't gave a humidity setting in the fridge since we arevrenting.. I'm tired if having to buy salad every day or so just to eat fresh.

I use veggie keeper containers from Tupperware. Pricey up front but it keeps my chopped romaine lettuce forEVER lol

Am sorry for late reply Daisyspeedy1 but thought I'd tell you how we keep salad greens fresh. I have found best results in using a plastic container with good fitting lid & placing one sheet of paper towel (fold to fit) on base of container & also on top of salad just before putting lid on. Change paper towel daily. Hope this helps

Depends on my mood. Usually just salt and LOTS of pepper. Sometimes I'll add onion if we have it, too. If i'm wanting more sweet than savory, I like canned mandarin oranges or pineapple!

It really varies area to area...I've found many of the items to be comparable, within 5-10 cents difference in our area. So for me, they're pretty similar.
