Bingo! this episode made me go through "A Dictionary of British Folk-tales" by Katharine Briggs. Part B Volume 1 (Folk Legends) has a story on page 375 entitled "The Three Cows", where a farmer finds his three fat cows reduced to skin and bone. He finds out that Pixies have be killing them, eating them and then putting them back together again. It even has his last cow going lame as the result of a missing bone.

Coming by late... very enjoyable. I've had things go missing and seen folks out of the corners of my eyes that vanish when I go to look at them straight on... oh and If I took a rowan tree out of the yard I woul probably pant another rowan tree in a corner where it wouldn't be a problem... but that is just me.

Love this! Best line ever - 'supernatural thrush!' 😂 and yes totally agree. Cleansing has its place but we do want to allow our friends some hang out space in what we consider our homes. They're part of our 'eco system' however unaware humans might be. Thank you, ladies 💜🙏🏽

Hi Jo Hickey-Hall. Loving your channel. You should see if you can talk to Hammerson Peters. He has a channel that talks a lot about Canadian folklore. I recently saw in one of his videos where he talked about fairy lore in Canada. Some from the Native American perspective, and some from traditions brought over by the Europeans.

Nice entertaining episode with some gentle humour. The story about the creatures in the barn dismantling the ox and putting it back together again shows how these entities can manipulate atoms. Although i don't think they can create life after killing it. I think they manipulate the atoms in a very clever way because the ox was actually limping the next day. I agree that animalistic tendencies seem behind the use of horns during manifestations. I think this may be to trigger chemicals or hormones like pheromone within us. The story of the entity called Silky seems to confirm how energy gets attached to physical objects in this case in regards to the gold found in the wall that made some people suggest silky could find peace now. Speaking of seeing mists I have also seen it a few times. Most recently I captured a misty figure of a person on my CCTV outside my house on a dull grey day. I think people report very accurate details and do not forget because their senses are heightened because the brain probably switches between Tetha and Delta brainwave frequencies usually in operation between afternoon and evening times that keep our conscious and unconscious states both very open. The story of the fairy with bright red eyes shows that these entities are probably disguising themselves as fairies, wolves etc. For me seeing red eyed hybrid wolves indoors is no surprise because I also saw them indoors . However I think they are right about most people seeing them outdoors. Bethan has had some really amazing experiences. The story of being hit by stones by these entities is interesting. This also happened to me in pitch dark in the street at night in the UK after having returned from a holiday abroad in a hot country where I had also encountered similar things. Maybe these entities followed me over the ocean. I was wearing the shirt I got from my holiday when the stone was thrown at me. So maybe my clothing was the attachment.

There's definitely a correlation between fairy sightings and cattle mutilations, near where i live in Middridge (County Durham) there is a farm and on that there's a hill, it is know as the fairy hill, where the fairies would gather and dance, on the opposite side of this farm theres a railway track and when i used to walk there (as a child) i recall several times dead sheep that had been skinned and looked really strange (most of its face and skin were gone) and i think it's ear and eye were gone, even as a child i recall something about it wasn't right, id get a strange feeling of being watched there too, used to creep me out. Theres also been a lot of orbs sighted around the hill, another correlation between places of the Fae and cattle mutilations. Theres several interesting tales, one of a local stable boy (might not be a stable boy) who made game of the faery and had a spear thrown at him by King Oberon, the mark is still there in the door apparently. Thats also another correlation in UFO abductions and other folklore, the throwing of projectile missiles that are sharp & metallic in nature.

I have not read about the projectile aspect before. Thanks for sharing. That is super disturbing about the sheep. Years ago I came home to find a mutilated squirrel on my back porch. The neighbors on either side found them too. One of the families moved away after that. The dismembered pieces were bloodless and the organs were intact under the ribs. The cuts were completely smooth like a laser, but not burned: exact surgical precision. I called the non emergency sheriff, but they had no concern as our neighborhood is a low crime area.
@frazzledazzle89
@frazzledazzle89 Год назад
@@k8eekatt That sounds a bit creepy, I can't recall for certain they were 100% mutilations but something didn't seem right, it was always an area of 24m2 just outside the fenceline where they would be too. If you haven't read Supernatural by Graham Hancock (it is an experimentive journal like investigation with "tribal medicines" and ancient folklore, the spear reference comes up a lot in cave paintings and cave art, it really is an incredible read. It does cover a bit about about UFO abuctees and fairy folklore too.

I also have seen some of Corey Goode's disclosures about alien technology, and he has mentioned how the undisclosed technology, used by the military and aliens, is able to regenerate body parts. There is some overlap with this, but this is portrayed as a non-technological, magical way of doing it. They would also wipe the memory so that someone would not remember anything at all about what happened (this is referring to the ox that was eaten).
@themodernfairysightingspod8421
Wow! Thanks. I am aware of the memory wiping

I'm stunned by the similarities between the Silky and The Ghost Hitcher of Uniondale, South Africa. My parents once met a young man who related his encounter. One evening during the 80s, he passed through Uniondale on his motorcycle when he felt arms around his waist. He turned around and saw a woman in a white silk gown sitting on the back of his motorbike. She disappeared when he nearly crashed his bike.

It's possible I suppose that the farmer was familiar with a variation on the story about Thor and his goats. On the journey to the castle of Utgard Loki, Thor and Loki stopped at a farm. Thor slaughtered and cooked one of the goats and they all ate the flesh. Against all orders, the farmer's son was persuaded by Loki to crack open a leg bone to get at the marrow. When the goat was reassembled it was found to be lame. The farmer gave his son to Thor in compensation.

In Norse myth Thor kills a goat and serves it to a family but says to save all the bones, but the young sun of the family eats part of the shin bone, Thor then gets the skin, shoves the bones in and holds his hammer above it as it springs back to life (his hammer could bring both death and life) but the goat now has a limp.

Aways used to enjoy this podcast in its previous format and presentation. But not enjoying this at all -- especially seques in to personal/ trivial thoughts of the presenters: eg. relating to their desire for food .... "my stomach is rumbling.." and other bits of minutiae that hardly serves a professional podcast. A lack of structure to the discussion -- particularly early on -- also detracts from the quality. It was much better the way it was before with the original lady Jo, who presented it.
@themodernfairysightingspod8421
My friends Bethan and Icy are providing summer cover until I (Jo) return 3rd Sept. I am happy for them to present in any way that feels right to them. It’s a matter of personal taste as some people have really enjoyed their format. Thank you for commenting.

Gosh! Such a charmless way to express a dissatisfaction with a piece of entertainment not suiting your personal preferences. You do realise don’t you that these podcasts are created & presented by individuals who share a passion for a subject & wish for others who may be curious to be educated & enlightened too.They’re not mass media farms churning out mindless entertainment for profit but they are most certainly charming intelligent engaging interesting & genuine. I rarely get annoyed enough to post anything in reply to someone & believe in positive critique but someone needs to point out something to you.If it’s so offensive to your taste,exercise free will & search out something else. If these were two folk were sitting & chatting & exchanging tales in some physical community space & you came upon them & after listening you decided their oratory style wasn’t to your taste,you wouldn’t be entitled to complain,but you could most certainly trot on…. With kind regards Michael.x
