What i like about conan is when youre funny he genuinely laughs, but if youre not, he stares at you with a boring empty and annoyed gaze. You gotta love honesty
His super early seasons are fascinating because he's trying way too hard and nervously laughing all the time. I love how he's ripened and settled into the role, becoming one of the greats! 🙂
Bill Burr has this uncanny ability to look uncomfortable in every single chair he sits in. It's to the point where I feel uncomfortable in my own chair lol
@@mackinacisland3825 He is a comedian ???? wtf. Aren't they supposed to be funny ? he was just obnoxious and cringe. Thought he was a politician trying to be casual.
@gargoyled_drake comedy is subjective. As the old saying goes, "to each their own." I rewatched this clip to jog my memory. Bill Burr is still one of my favorite comedians, but I really loved the German guy. He was the best in these clips. Again, comedy is subjective.
@@mysunflowers7 uhm yeah it is. Just to give an example: listen to "Germany history". He pronounces it "Tshörmeni histeri" with a very hard T. No German does that. You might hear "Djörmeni" with distinctly german vocals, which he does aswell, but that is way too hard to be real.
@@Wavelover33highly disagree! I'm 28, my dad raised me on Monty Python, Faulty Towers and Black Adder AND I just saw John Cleese live a couple weeks ago here in Nashville! I totally understand British humor and I LOVE it!!
@aferran69 Not unknown but in the past Leno, and Letterman was treated better. The reason he switched networks is because Leno wanted his old spot back and that displaced Conan.
@Stimulator7 no, he means they understand the difference between a slight and a joke. pc culture is anti-liberty. you do not have the right to not be offended. if you don't like it, don't watch.
It's got nothing to do with PC culture. How can anyone say Bill Burr was so funny in the beginning that if you didn't laugh it's because you're oversensitive? His joke was just repeat the word "cancer" until someone laughs
@@matthewchampion8214 based on that comment, you're absolutely delusional, and you're opinion on comedy can't be trusted lol I'm gonna go ahead a step and say you're just straight up wrong. I'm not even interested in going back and forth on the topic with you because you've already shown that you have no idea what you're talking about lol
@@craxypackets "I'm not even interested in going back and forth on the topic with you" Tapping out with your first reply. What an alpha move. You could have just said you couldn't think of any more words.
@Miss reign Yeah or it was just a lame joke. I could really see Conan laughing hysterically at 0:12 before he felt awkward. His reaction looked just like one of Fallon's where he tries to humour his guest.
Only John Cleese could have enough of a killer sense of humor to get 4 or 5 clips in the same compilation. All of these were great. 😂 Thanks for the video!
I'm not saying that John Cleese ISN'T funny (because of course he is)....but come on. You're always going to laugh harder at one of your heroes jokes, even if said jokes aren't THAT funny.
watch their rehersal, they reherse most of the bits with great details that it wont be the first time conan hearing those jokes, coz they also reherse his reactions to guests' stories

a master of his type of comedy indeed! His ability to look in your eyes with a straight face while he tells you a joke like he believes it lol..unmatched..or probably only by his peers like Fry, Laurie, Atkinson and such
@@gracerees7376 that'd be very lovely if it wasnt obviously fake. the fake laugh and excitement is just annoying as hell unless you dont really see the fakeness!
@@Setsuna161616 leno left late night to move to a new earlier slot show on nbc. conan took over late night. leno's new slot flopped. nbc gave late night back to leno, but conan's old slot was already filled.. so conan got bumped out completely.
@@apple54345 Leno initially had no slot, but NBC gave him that earlier slot and his show took potential viewers away from Conan's Tonight Show that were loyal Jay Leno fans. When Conans ratings came up short, they blamed Conan instead of taking responsibility for screwing him over.
No it’s really not, they don’t have time to rehearse with these people, they come in on the day that’s it. You don’t need to rehearse a conversation…these guys are not able to act, it would be too obvious. It’s just a conversation with sometimes pre set talking points depending on the person.
that first bill burr clip is my favorite talk show moment where he says a punchline to complete dead silence, and then just saying "There's a time and a place" then everybody realizes what he's saying
Conan laughs when he's caught off guard by the payoff of a joke or absurdity. He's also good at reading where the joke is leading and knows how to extend it. He's great improvising, but also knows when to hold back to let the guest shine. Conan is not always the guy we laugh at, he's the buddy we laugh with.
@@ashleym8658 I don't understand how James Cordon got a show at all, let alone how big it is. He's not funny or interesting at all, and yet he has a parade of high caliber guests coming onto his show, it just makes 0 sense to me.
@@readingRoom100 Yeah I did some more research into it because I was genuinely curious and apparently he’s just a kiss-ass with a lot of connections. Pretty much what I expected, lol.
I love Conan's laughter. Something about it is so authentic and you can tell how kind someone is by what they choose to laugh at and he's very genuine when he chooses to laugh. If you guys like this I'd really recommend his podcast. People that make him drop dead laughing are Will Ferrel, Adam Sandler, Russell Brand and Martin Short.
THE best late night host for a comedian. He actually let them have the platform and speak, he very rarely interrupted and when he did it was never to put the attention back on him like most hosts, it added something. If you bomb on Conan you know it's all your fault, no one else's.
I was a huge fan of Flula back in the day because of auto tunes but he really shocked me with his quick wit and hilarious dry well timed and perfectly executed humor while on conan lol. He is truly a hilarious man
He was joking about his mother, but he clearly misses her. It's the way that he speaks that tells me he misses her now that she is gone. Despite all the thing he has said about his mother, you cannot get away from your own feelings.
@@muhammadfarhanatif3105 Some like to crack jokes about their loved ones as a coping mechanism. Reminiscing about the good times rather than dwelling on the loss is what most Brits do when they grieve.
I like the one where Norm tells the oral sex joke. Conan really seems to be struggling not to laugh before he finishes telling the joke. Highly recommend.
Bill burr is such an incredible guest every time he was on conan. He was always keeping it real and killing it and he and conan had such good chemistry.
Which is funny, because he tends to talk from a typical altered view of reality. Like a pessimistic uncle that lies about his trip to the grocery store and just rips on people.
@@rafox66, HA! Way to miss the point entirely, genius! Good God! Another RU-vid expert (dipshit) strikes again! I was proving that using the word *literally was unnecessary. "Good job, you're getting better at reading; not quite there yet, but close." Way to pay attention, clown.
Conan was the last talk show host with class. He didn't insert politics into everything and he kept the conversation going whether it meant him talking more or less. He actually listened to his guests.
@@nibncabc2737 *1st* - the mark doesn't matter because you can't monetise a video with copyright material (like this one), I don't get anything out of these, I just upload them for people to enjoy and I don't want to make them longer than 10 or 12 minutes, otherwise they'd be tedious | *2nd* - I'll include suggestions in future compilations, as I did with the second.
The hardest I've seen Conan laugh was when Bill Burr started ripping into Oprah while talking about Lance Armstrong. Seeing Conan lose it that bad got me.
Ricky Gervais and John Cleese are absolute legends lol. Gervais hilarious at his best and funny almost all the time, Mr. Cleese is just too fucking good.
This is so great but I definitely think there should’ve been some Bill Hader clips cause they always seem like they’ve been friends for life and it’s just a great dynamic to witness
