Dreamcatcher has to be one of the best senior groups from this past generation. It's wild how they reach out to congratulate & compliment younger and sometimes rookie groups. That's not normal for kpop groups and so it's so respectable & beautiful.

dreamcatcher is friends with the entirety of the gg industry, they greet groups first despite them being seniors, theyre all so nice to everyone and celebrate wins with others even when they dont have any themselves....im so mf sad wtf :(

It's sad that for whatever reason Dreamcatcher has been slow to catch on in Korea and build a large enough fan base to start picking up show wins at least on the cable networks, but it does seem like they are on the cusp of a rise in popularity that might get them over the hump. One thing that can help a group like them is when other groups with big fanbases like IZ*One, Itzy, Oh My Girl, etc. are talking positively about them as it can get them on the radar of people who might not have given them a listen otherwise. Dreamcatcher's style might not be everyone's cup of tea, but their music is really good and they are a breath of fresh air in an industry where so many sound the same. It's funny how sometimes there are groups not just in K-pop but many western genre's of music too that don't chart really high or win many awards, but are really respected by their industry peers and sometimes are very influential among those peers. I feel that Dreamcatcher is becoming a group like that, a bit like how Mamamoo is also really respected and admired by so many of their peers for kind of breaking the mold or what a girl group can be. I have noticed many Korean reactors that once exposed to Dreamcatcher, they like them, but they hadn't really heard of them prior to some of their international viewers pinging them with comments to check them out. If I spoke Korean well enough, I think it would be fascinating to study how international fans seem to find groups from smaller companies or using concepts that aren't the mainstream, but Koreans seem to never hear about them. I don't know if it is a difference in fan tastes regarding music, whether it is a bandwagon philosophy where people only listen to what everyone else is listening to, whether it has to do with the way real-time charts work that people don't explore as much, or whether it has something to do with the way search engines and trending topics are driven and people simply don't look beyond that they are told is hot by the huge fanbases of Big 3 groups or the handful of groups from small companies that had a viral moment that got them noticed finally (EXID's Hani fan cam or GFriend slipping and falling in the rain for instance) or started to get so big overseas that it finally got them trending back home. I'd love to understand it better. I suspect part of it is that with the merchandising and fan culture that goes with K-pop, many fans spend nearly all their disposable income on the main group they are a fan of, and don't have money leftover to support other groups in many cases. That's makes it hard for many groups to break through and get the big album sales that help boost them on the shows and their fans are going to focus on streaming their favorite group and not spend time listening to other groups as much. Thanks for putting together this neat video. I had seen a few of these clips like the IZ*One and Dreamcatcher interaction on their channels, but hadn't seen a lot of these other connections. It's sad that some of these other groups have had similar challenges to Dreamcatcher where they are struggling to break through with some show wins or chart topping hits.

It's interesting how respected Dreamcatcher are and yet they still haven't gotten a win yet. I remember following EXID for years and they didn't have fan chants until Up and Down but Dreamcatcher have been getting them since debut. It's crazy that they have this hardcore audience, that all the other girl groups talk about liking them but still just are 1 step below getting a win every time.
