The French Jig is a fly from the Fullingmill catalogue (probably also France) that has become a guide box staple over the past few seasons. It has a classic black and red color scheme and is great in waters that have both midges and baetis, so basically everywhere. I was shown this pattern by my friend Anthony. I rarely fish it bigger than an 18 and have found 18s and 20s to be the sweet spot for this bug per Anthony's suggestion. Hope it serves you well.
