To clear some stuff up: You just have to wait 1 hour, then go to door 13, and don't open door 14. However, the lights will break every 15 minutes, making screech spawn, but screech can't spawn in the reception room (door 0). So waiting in the reception room is optimal.
"Try not to stall. Keep moving!" sounds like Dread is supposed to be more than just an easter egg, maybe he'll actually have a mechanic after the hunt event...?
did anyone else notice that dread similarly obstructs the players pov just how you run out of time in the hunt from haste? aswell as it both relating to time..
It would be interesting if Dread was used in a way that basically contradicts A-90. In other words, staying in a room for too long will cause Dread to sap some HP, forcing the player to “keep moving.”
When the sun stalls away from the peaceful skies, The unknown force of the Midnight is coming for you. The slight knocking, the rain and the lightnings, your footsteps, every sound is slowly moving away from you. You're terrified, your entire body feels like death is inside you. The bright side of all this terror, the lights that keep you sane, are fading away. Your sanity slowly fades away with the lights, hallucinations are here to make you suffer... And you do suffer. Drastically, you hear a rushing sound coming to you. But it's not the gray terror that you can hide from. It's the terror you have never met before here, you aren't adapted to it. You shiver, while the unknown *DREAD* is coming for your soul. You count all your family members, pray for the Lord to save you, when you slowly and excruciatingly fade away from this world. A blissful light meets you on the other side.
Nice to see this dude finally in the game, hopefully they add a badge for him that unlocks a modifier that allows him to spawn anywhere past door 13 (and make him survivable). If not, it kinda feels like a missed opportunity.
In the dead of night... The clock hits midnight... The chiming of unrelentless ambience drives you to fear... The sounds of the rain and lighting around you drifts away... The Darkness consumes the blistful light around you... You're vision becomes distorted... The porepheral of hallucinations distract you're thinking... And the *DREAD* ... is coming... for you...
I feel like it should show up if you take too long to complete the game. Like an invisible timer. Perhaps as a bonus mechanic you choose for extra points. Reminds me of the red skull from Spooky's Mansion - if you took too long in one room, it would show up. INCLUDING the safe room! I did NOT know this LOL
I have an idea for a mod for Dread: Name: Half Past Midnight Explanation: Dread will attack on almost every door with the only exceptions being the reception, both seek chases, and door 50 and 100. Vitamins and Crucifixes will be highly recommended. Knob boost: +30%
Dread originally was a scrapped entity for the hotel because it wasn't fun for the devs originally. Then, they added it into the backdoor as haste and for some reason they decided to add dread back into the main game. The clocks were added to every room so you can see how long you've got.
I think dread can be better than this, instead of waiting one hour under door 12, it should be like, when there is a grandfather clock in the room, if you stayed in there over atleast 1 or 2 minutes, dread will kill you
i think a cool idea for dread if they were real would be if you're in a room for like 3 minutes, it will spawn and chase you. after some time, it'll disappear.
man, i was doing this but when i reached door 13 rush came and i think he cancelled the dread encounter because i only got the clock thing effect and then nothing else happened sucks to suck i guess
don’t worry he/she explained it wrong you SHOULD be in room 0 waiting by the clock until 12 that’s right wait til 12 not 11:45 or 11:55 than once it passes by 12 make your way to room 13 than it will appear i’d recommend going there fast because i wouldn’t take your chance waiting
A doors run without looting takes around 30ish minutes. So Getting to door 13 in 15-10 minutes should be easy (unless you get horrible luck). But the reason I say you wait in the reception is because it should be safe from blacking out and Screech attacking. And I don't know if the clock has to hit 12 when door 13 is opened or it hits 12 and then you go.
@@samherkenhow it works is in room 0 once it passes 12 you don’t have to be in a rush to door 13 you can all the time you want it just has to be past 12
so there was glitch.. then void.. so dread it kinda like another one of them? edit: so this a dumb question but it’s 45 mins on the clocks in the game right 😭
A little late to comment but I think Dread might be a good idea for actually killing players if they’re afk, and keep on attacking again and again on players who are afk for too long, no matter how much it gets crucified. I’d say if they’re afk for like 10-20 minutes Dread would attack.
now this is a real one except for the instructions, you're making it too specific and it would probably make people think its fake, you actually only have to be afk for 2 hours, in the game past door 10, it would kill you later
