I like Munchies but I don't like this format. If it's drunk eats? I want to see a crew of people having drinks and eating. Not her ambushing other people what was that?
Yeah I think this episode deserves a remake. I live in la and all these places that were mention are not really the actually Spots to go eat. C’mon guys let’s put some more effort and people in the episode
or "munchies hires an influencer to make a web series"'. the dirty question becomes does she actually like these places or were they the only ones willing to pay for influencing. 2019 youtube content
Youtan Poluo true if she was she wouldn’t have been driving all over town to find a hot dog cart. Real LA people know exactly where to go. Shouldn’t have even been an issue is she knew her way around LA
Like was all of that swearing really necessary? None of the places she showed us are anything new. It's all well known, we'll established, long time on the most popular lists of any Angelino in the know. No swearing necessary and thankfully I've never heard any of it at anytime I've been to those places.
I like seeing the food. But she seems just a little fake and pretentious. Agree with I want to see a heap of people all out eating, having fun. Seems like a creeper out on the town by herself trying to get in on others fun.
@@amadeusgrandson7357 No, you 'believe' you can read through people, but it's also just as likely that you're judgemental and make alot of assumptions.
She has that voice of those Americans who come to Mexico and say stuff like "wow, I didn't think Mexico was this modern" or "wow, I thought Mexico was cheaper". Really random but brought memories of people I eavesdropped on while living in Mexico City.
Homegirl is not a LA native, she little rich girl who lives outside the city. Get in touch with your roots. Let us LA Natives have our treats, don’t gentrify us on RU-vid.
Great idea for a show...but didn’t find the presentation particularly warm. Lucas Peterson would have treated this subject matter much more engagingly.
I feel like the Amsterdam episode embodied what this is supposed to be this one was somebody ordering vastly more than they could eat having only a nipple and having two sips of drinks as opposed to having the amount of drinks that embody the show and then eating the food you would go for having done that
In case you’re wondering “El Flamin” (the taco spot she went to) is actually El Flamin’ Taco. Also, no one in LA calls those hot dogs “dirty dogs” or “danger dogs.” :\
right, also who the fuck eats tacos while driving? you either eat them standing in front of the truck, or eat it on top of the hood or trunk of your car.
I’ve only been to LA once, but let me get blackout drunk and crawl around the streets looking for food like a rat, guaranteed that shit would be more interesting than watching sober sally over here eat glizzys in the back of a minivan
Did she just call it “Felipe’s?!” You are not an Angelino bruh. And if you don’t have a specific Dodger Dog spot... not “Danger Dog,” then you need to do some better research. I would do a better job to show you around. Props on the ‘Flaming Taco’ Al Pastor though. You’ve earned some respect for that shout out!
Honestly, I've never heard anyone call it a dirty dog or danger dog. I've always heard it be called an LA Street Dog and maybe we should keep it that way. By calling it dirty or dangerous, we are just adding to the narative that La street vendors are dirty. They aren't.
thats why you dont pick woman to do these kind of shows.. litllebite of a sandwich and she is full.. "so good" she eats like she has to watch her figure lol get a MAN to do this kind of shit
Moving forward, can shows like these be more mindful of the folks who put their heart and soul into making the food that's being featured? Show the faces, credit the chef/cook/server. The people, the humanity behind the dishes are the magic.
As a an avid drinker in DTLA I can attest to the fact that none of these places are true choices for late night drunk munchies. She's only going to overpriced hipster locations. Only the club kids too scared to stray far from the bar eat those shopping cart hotdogs. You want real DTLA tacos at 2am, go to Margarit's on 6th and Main
40+ year old native Angelino...me and my friends have aways called it a dirty dog. "La style" didn't come till later...like 2000's...when someone had to market the shit against the chicago and new York dogs.
00:31 "I know people are usually walking place to place in this series, but we're in LA, it's a little different here" Translation: "Downtown LA is full of shambling homeless and drug addicts at this time of night, and I don't feel safe walking around." LA's food is great, but you have to ignore so much filth and squalor to enjoy it that is isn't worth it anymore.
A lot of you need to calm down in the comments. She was very pleasant and VERY LA. She showed different types of late night spots. Why freak out because they all aren't super cheap late night spots? Different people are into different late night foods. Some times I want greasy and filling, and sometimes I'm feeling for something more classy. Its all good.
Well it’s it’s the best then it should pertain to majority of the crowd but it seems like a lot of the people didn’t agree with her choices. The video showed her choices but not what the LA citizens like to go eat at
A5 Grade 12 Kobe Wagyu with a name A5 Grade 12 Kobe Wagyu makes me think you could afford more than a few steak con frite LOL coming from Texas I accept the steak at anytime mentality too tho
This video needs to be taken down and redone with a different person or something or a group of people it just seems lonely 😞 and doesn’t have any energy Or maybe she was just to sober idek 😊
As a scotsman I always find American's funny when they think 111 years is old for business. ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN YEARS 😂 our oldest pub is 650+ most inns are over 250
The fact this woman calls “Philipe’s,” Felipe’s is a whole other level of ignorance and disrespect. Even the Mexicans dockworkers whose accents are as thick as they can be, always call it Philipe’s when they come in in the morning. Have their beer and sandwich after a night of working and then back to work at night. Good memories and I grew up an hour south of LA.
Dining alone, zero character, no friends, leaping in and out of a car and having as little to with other people as possible and eating at empty establishments. L.A. Is definitely the place to be.
Why is everyone being so mean about the host? She seemed fine to me. It's an LA episode... it seems that in every big city, the locals are pretentious as hell. LA just says "like" a whole lot more.
Damn..it seems like the late night scene in LA is like nothing compared to NYC, these places seem empty but at a NYC place at that time you would wait for a table
Ain’t no one trying to eat at a nice sit down place when you’re drunk in LA. We go to taco stands, pizza joints or drive thrus after a night of drinking.
I personally enjoyed this video and this lady as well, she brought a different POV to late-night LA and it was interesting to see. Even IF she would've had a group, people would still find some negative shit to say, that's just the internet.
