great video, I'm a intern in surgery department. that video helped alot, especially in my case where the surgeons dont really feel the need to teach you anything even if you reach out for knowledge
This was very fun to watch, thanks for the information Could you expand more (with examples too) on 18:35 about Minimal urine output for patient on maintenance IV being 30ml/hr. How would you measure this if the nurses ask, and what does it mean if its below/above etc. just some more information about it would be so appreciated ! :D
Sure! Actually you don't measure this, the nurses measure it and they usually will page you if it drops below 30 cc/hr! When it gets below 30 cc/hr we primarily worry that the patient is no longer getting adequate perfusion to their kidneys or they are volume down. Decreased urine output could be a result of hypotension (shock) or AKI, or maybe the patient just needs a bolus of fluids to make sure their volume status is adequate (this is very common)
Hi, Dr Liu! Thank you so much for this video; it's an excellent source of information prior to my Gen Surg Auditions this semester. Please correct me if I am wrong - I've been taught that rather than "Wind, Water, Wound, Walking, Wonder Drugs," it is "Wind, Water, WALKING, WOUND, Wonder Drugs?" Just wanted to clarify - TYSM 🙏
Thank you for this video, extremely helpful! Wish I saw it sooner. One thing I noticed though: triangle of Calot: bordered by the cystic duct, cystic artery, and CHD VS hepatocystic triangle: bordered by the cystic duct, inferior edge of the liver, and CHD
I'd recommend watching the guide to Internal Medicine which has stuff that's very much applicable to FM as well! You can throw in the Peds and OBGYN videos too if you want some more specifics but I'd say IM covers about 80% of what you'd be looking for in FM :)
@@ConanLiuMD I don't want to exaggerate here, but this might be one of the greatest videos that ever existed lol. I am halfway through my Surgery clerkship and I can't tell you how many pimping questions I've gotten right solely because of this video (Especially the CBD diameter equation, they were quite impressed!). Don't get me wrong, I still get 90% of their pimping questions wrong (surgeons are relentless!) but thank you SO much for this video!
@@joegeo5 Thank YOU for such an amazing and kind comment! That makes my day more than anything else and I am so glad it was helpful for you :) I really can't wait to make more and it means a lot to me that you found it useful. Thanks again so much and keep up the great work on your rotation!!
