Just wanted to come here to say thank you! This video has helped me learn o3 and mini bosses and get my first o3 completes. I already feel so much more confident in my ability to finish o3 and specifically the dreaded celestial phase. Honestly such good advice to use the just dodge game to practice, after I did that for about 20 minutes I felt so much more competent in celestial phase instead of panik dodging!
Incredible guide, I haven’t run o3 yet cause I’m terrified and after this it still seems terrifying, but at least now I know what to expect if I muster the courage to try it. There needs to be more in-depth guides like this for end-game dungeons and bosses, thank you so much for taking the time to put this together ❤
Homie, you have no idea how much this has helped me. for the longest time i couldn't do an o3 but thanks to you and this video i have done it. Thank you!
very nice guide. Something to add to the preparation: Watch out for which resolution you play at. Any resolution above 1080p will not let you zoom out as far. 1440p barely gets you to your full range of vision but 4k will not, which really sucks.
Amazing guide for players learning o3, I will be showing this to those who need it. Please make another guide for Gemsbok when he gets his rework so not just players learning o3 but for myself to understand his new phases!
Thanks, I did not know about the changes coming to Gemsbok, but it seems that the main things are that you need to rotate in rotation phase and they made it so decoys don't work, meaning you have to dodge a bit more than before. It doesn't seem like the fight will play out that differently. But I was planning on redoing the celestial part, so I can redo Gemsbok as well when I do that.
Did a few attempts in the public events before, never made it past celestial phase. Today I came prepared... Had four 8/8 Knights ready and studied your guide. And baam first O3 completed, without losing a char. It all came down to having the confidence and not being too nervous in the end thanks to your guide. :)))))))))))
Thanks! I will consider it, but I'm really lazy so I can't promise anything. Also I was thinking of doing a guide for pets before doing another dungeon guide.
@@whyv9338 honestly for a noob it's perfect. you're absolutely correct that you don't need to know much about the phases to survive. but if people are interested then they can look at the follow up for more info.
Solid guide my dude but I need to ask you something G about the intro scene and when you used your character to be a teacher. How do you get the sprites to be exactly the same? Also the background of Osanc
The character animation is taken from RotMG skin viewer. I just used editing software to remove the gray background so I'm left with just my character. For the mini bosses, those sprites where taken from the RotMG wiki. And the backgrounds where made by taking screenshots in-game, then editing out my character and stitching together multiple screenshots in order to get rid of some of the fog. (Pressing "CTRL + SHIFT + Z" removes the hud to make screenshoting easier.)
You forgot to mention Suns phase for Dammah which is the other phase that can happen when the boss gets down to 50% hp. Suns is not one of the phases Dammah can go into at the beginning of the fight.
Oh yeah, I Dont know how i managed to forget that he can also go into suns. Ill fix it for the updated version of the guide. Oh and I think i even forgot to talk about demise phase at the start. Yeah I need to work on Dammah a bit.
@@whyv9338 I just found you channel. I can't speak too educated about what would be the best. I just know this was pretty high-quality and guides like this would be / are pretty sought-after.
@@theguycalled1 Already have most of the footage i would need for a fungal guide, so I'm gonna do that. A lot of people are looking for shatters guide, but I haven't bothered to run enough of them. I would need another 100 shatters completes at least before i could make a good guide.
I go in with either a fresh kensei or trickster and try to get t6 or higher gear before it goes to oryx. Then I get level 20 in the castle. That way I don’t waste any characters and I don’t have to nexus. This allows me to full send and see how far I get without worrying about a character
Thank you! I have been on a long break, but I have been getting into it again recently. Starting a PPE contest right now, that might get turned into a ninja guide.
For leuq you can pretty much stand by the middle left or or the middle right banner for almost all of the patterns in phase 1 and 3. And when he goes middle you can safespot in any of the corners. This makes the boss really easy as long as there are no counters, but the chance that you not get soulbound is really high. If you wanna learn the fight properly though i sugest paying close attention to where i position myself, just knowing where to stand is like 70% of the battle pretty much. Hope this helps ^^
The information about the knife wall hitbox is incorrect, the dammah knives only have a hitbox at the blue jewel in the hilt, you can very much run far into the blades from the upper row without getting hit. (this applies only if you look at your whole character, youll get hit by the top knives about when your feet pixel reach the tip of the blades)
You are correct that the hitbox is depicted a little wrong, hitbox starts about halfway into the blade meaning you start getting hit about when your feet reach the tip of the blades yes. Here is a picture that shows a more accurate representation of the hitboxes for anyone reading this in the future: imgur.com/2o76Rqe
It's now a regular feature in the game that you can find in the settings menu in-game. Just make sure that you change the settings right bellow, to change what gets affected by the opacity.
you said the phases are the same, you probably sshould've added that some of them boomerang. for me celestial is better starting from the left and going down, idk, just me. I can do celestial most of the time, but on the just dodge sim I choke a lot, I think its cuz I cant see "oryx" enough and start from a different spot. dunno. nonetheless, a wonderful guide. wish I had something like this whhen I started learrning o3
For celestial I do the safespot strat, if you watch the video i will basically go to the bottom right and i stay there for the entire celestial. What you're doing is called quarter rotating and is the most common way to do celestial. I do think my way is a lot easier but i did not explain it very well in this guide. I plan on remaking the celestial guide to show how to identify the safespots more easily. Thank you for the feedback though, it is much apprechiated
@@whyv9338 I sat there, listened to the celestial part but it came in one ear ans came out the other hahah. Idk, I tried thw safespot strat but I ended up choking those times and quarter rotating for me is just more reliable. Still, thanks for the informative response!
Sorry about that. I was busy with the fungal event, so I completely forgot to add a disclaimer. Fixed it up now to the best of my abilities without having to re-upload. Kensei is really good, hes basically a trickster without decoys but with more damage. So if you have a good enough heal pet kensei should be really easy to do o3s on.
For sure, these are the setting that hevily affect visual clarity in the game making it easier to see what you need to be dodging. Nowadays there is also a setting for AOE paritcles that you should disable as well.
MBC is a very scripted fight, you wanna make sure you follow the group. Also for survival which is the hardest part you wanna make sure you get off the wall, this is super important! Basically if you're on the wall it removes one direction you're able to dodge, two directions if you never push off the wall again. So try to dodge a couple tiles from the wall, if there is just nowhere to dodge you can fall back to the wall for a moment just to dodge. But as soon as you can you wanna go out from the wall again so you have room to fall back again.
I found a reddit post where he said that you need to uninstall the game. Then delete the transparency file completely from the registry, then install the game again.
I play 2 zoomed in from max. It helps me with micro dodging, but it also limits my vision slightly. Since i play mostly closer range classes its worth the tradeoff to me. Btw zoom levels are different depending on resolution, if you have higher resolution than 1920x1080 it starts getting weird.
You can use your numer keys to swap to a spesific slot in your inventory. And you can change it to other keys in the options menu. Buttons like shift, control or spacebar are good buttons to use for swapping items. Extra buttons on your mouse are also good.
The only person stopping you from playing more casual is yourself. Just find like minded people. Not everyone who plays wants to no life and take it as serious as real life.
Bruh o3 is a end end game dungeon like it's the hardest one (for me I think the new shatts is harder bc I don't have patience) so u can't play casually while doing the hardest dungeon in the game it doesn't make sense
I highly recommend joining a discord for running them, or finding a guild / community that is willing to help you run some o3s. If you have some runes you can also pop for some good servers and get some good o3s. Streamer runs can be nice since you can bring any gear to them, they are usually the worst possible runs to do though because of that. You shouldnt go actively searching for realms that people are doing o3s in since most of the time they dont want you there, it doesnt really matter how good you are, crashing other peoples run without asking them is very disrespectful. And you can find o3s faster by going in discords anyways, so there is really no point. @@sangyoo4594 I don't think I've heard about it before. My guild is also really active and helpful, we'd also answer any questions you might have. discord.gg/saltyspitoon
