Loved this cover. I used to be teased at High school for the bands i used to like only for the people teasing to change rhere opinion and become fans themselves. I became utterly obsessed with Television and the bands that inspired them.and the whole CBGB's and Max's Kansas City scenes and ultimately Punk Rock. This was beautiful man 👏
Talk about timing! I just bought a Jazzmaster mainly because of that magic Tom Verlaine tone, and love this tune…plus it’s slow enough for me to have a fighting chance of getting close …thank you, lovely job.
This is fantastic! I've been trying to figure out how to play it (off and on) for 30+ years. I'd convinced myself that the capo was on the 4th fret / G shape, but 2nd fret / A shape makes a lot more sense. Of course Jimmy Ripp manages to do it with no capo. Never seen RL play it... Anyway, thanks! (And I love your "Television is all I need" comment - they should sell t-shirts with that.)
Hi thanks ! On several vids Ripp play with no capo, same shape so in A - on the album it's in B. It's an old vid and at this time I was obsessed with arrangement for one guitar, so I never dig what they really play
If you like Television you have to like Wilco's guitarist Nels Cline. Have you heard him play "Impossible Germany" or "At Least That's What You Said"? He is a huge Television fan. Great job BTW.
