The holy spirit is on earth for us and he is there for every of our issues. There is no issue in our life that is entirely ours to make. We must involve God in ALL our ways. Not some. There is nothing like trivial issues with God. And yes, the Holy spirit can ask a person to do things that seem "unreasonable" to man. The holy spirit is Spirit and knows that we do not know. On the a day a disaster went to happen in school, would not the Holy Spirit ask you not be go? We don't have a life to live our the Holy spirit and his instructions. Divine direction is for every aspect of our life Asking God's direction about everything is not trivializing it. It is disobedience to God's instructions that is trivializing it.
In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path. The Holy Spirit will not be angry if you ask any questions. His Job on earth is to guide us into all truth!! All!! Not some truths! Not few truths!! Not selected truths!!! You’ll be surprised how very interested the Holy Spirit is in every facet of our lives!!! His primary role is to teach!! To teach us truth!!! So please depend on him ooo!!! Jesus said I will not leave you as orphans because he knew how dependent his disciples were on him and those who will come after. That’s why he sent us another helper, aid, comforter, advocate, adviser, paraklet!! So please rather than ask the devil, or bad friends for opinions, ask the Holy Spirit.

I was Ordained as a Youth Pastor 3 Months ago, when I was Ordained we only had 2 children in our church because it's a small church. To the glory of God we have 15 children now. The Holy Spirit actually entertains ALL our issues "trivial" or not. The holy Spirit is concerned about your hair or dressing, about your EVERYTHING. A friend told me that one day on his way out the Holy Spirit told him to wear a particular shoe and he did. He had an accident and the show scattered because of how he hit foot. If not for that covered shoe, the fall would have had a terrible and worst effect on his foot.
That point about triviality is actually directed to people who use the voice of the Holy Spirit for granted, or who mistake the voice of their flesh to be the voice of the Holy Spirit. Regarding your example, YES it is possible.
If you cannot learn to hear the Holy Spirit input on matters which many call trivial, how will you hear him when he speaks on “big matters” and live changing matters? If you can’t depend on him to tell you what or what not to do, you won’t trust his voice when he advises on major decisions. And it is NOT wrong to ask the Holy Spirit his decisions on any matter, as it will help you develop a habit of dependence on his voice. And help you recognize his voice!
You are very right. I was thinking the same. Many time when i want my wife to cook a particular food, the holy spirit will speak that I shld take another type of food. Holy spirit can speak on the most little things. I think it depends on how intimate your relationship is with Holy spirit and how much you depend on him. If you feel you can handle it yourself which we have been given such right, the holy spirit won't interfere. But as soon as you let him know you need help, he will speak. Have seen someone who asked the holy spirit if to go to work and the Holy spirit said no. He later went and he was robbed that day....
Spend time worshiping God using worship songs online especially in the early hours of the morning (3am,4am,5am), it really works. I discovered this from Bishop Oyedpo’s book, on divine direction. It worked for me, trust it does for u too.
Your are saved in your Spirit when you got born again. If you are not sure, then you need to get born again. Fill youraelf with the word of God. Read your bible! Starting with the new testament. This will feel you up and heal you.

You hear God firstly and must importantly through the scriptures. The words of the bible is God talking to you. Then through dreams, visions, the inner witness/voice. A preacher, nature, a person. God speaks to us through all the works of his hand.

Do not be deceived, God doesn’t speak to man under grace. Neither does the Holy Spirit talk to any one. God completed his word during the apostolic age. Colossians 1:25. God speaks to us through the written word.
This is false sir. The holy spirit is Alive and active he speaks to us. God is not dead. He still speaks to us today. Not only by the word but through visions, dreams, audible voices, through people. Also there are specific decision and questions that the bible doesn't answer, so how do you hear God on those matters? What you need is that you need to get baptized in the Holy spirit. You need the touch of the Spirit of God.
