The moment you find out that the voice behind Rytlock is a bigger legend than Rytlock himself. From being bullied to becoming someone many kids look up to and relish for his amazing talent.
Man I remember in the initial trailers steve's delivery of rytlock. Convinced me to main charr right there on the spot. Just the lines like "with our machines of war we killed our gods. Every day we tear away from life's teeth" that shit's just so badass.
I can count my warband in-game as one of those influenced by Rytlock. Last year, I was fortunate enough to not only meet Steve, but also present him with a portrait commission of the warband I was part of (Shard Warband, for those of you who see them marching around with Iron and Brick dyes) and in return I got a personalized sound recording from him to them. It was the highest upvoted post I ever made to the GW2 subreddit. :D So yes, when he speaks of warbands...I consider mine in that number. :)
Iconic voice doing a Iconic character..... love these peeks behind the curtain. Love to hear more about the voice talent who brings life to these characters we all love, adore or love to hate :).
His voice suits Rytlock so much! Love the growl and bass to it, really is so nice to listen to in game and to hear him talking about how much he enjoys doing the voice acting for GE2 is great!
Rytlock is the definition of epic. He wields the most legendary sword in the game. He is a tribune/second in command to one of the high legions. Has also helped take down two dragons and a god, and of course he is one of the only characters in the game to have gone into the mists and returned stronger from it. #Tribune Brimstone for Khan-Ur
Man, Steve Blum has such a legendary voice And just look at the career that the guy has, over 400 voice acting credits in just video games alone and some of that might be mixed with anime as well, anybody remember orochimaru, wolverine from several iterations of the X-Men, Zabuza and hell, even Tank Dempsey from freaking call of duty
I would love to see Anet bring this series back again, especially some of the new talent brought in with EOD and some of the other commanders - Steve Staley (Asura male PC), Brandon Bales (Sylvari male PC), Colleen O'Shaughnessey (Asura female PC), Noshir Dalal (Detective Rama). Seeing the people behind the voices is always so fascinating.
@@rwxstudio7173 The gods saw Balth's crusade to bring war to Tyria as a threat, so they banished him to the realm of death, Grenth's realm, and effectively making him a prisoner. It is very similar to what they did to Abandon. Balth isn't mad with Rytlock. He's not mad with anyone. He merely wanted to pursue his goal of bringing war and flame to Tyria because he is, you know, the god of war and fire.
At the end of the day, 20 years from now, Rytlock will be the only original team member left (original as in from personal story). I feel like the character should be best friends with him because out of all of dragons watch we’ve known him the longest
Every time I'm unsure about the pronunciation of an English word I imagine Rytlock's voice and tadaa :D Or even the Adjutant Announcer from StarCraft if I wanna be extra sure, and it works!
The charr view the gods as powerful beings to fight, not worship. Rytlock literally created an opportunity for himself to be part of a god-slaying, the pinnacle of charr achievement, expecially for Rytlock of the blood legion. No shame, just pride.
