KGP HD Took that advice a while ago. Amazing game, but as college required a lot of time, I only got as far as Denravi before I had to pause for a while.
What is NOT explained in Guild Wars 2 is why the Norn gods (or spirit beings whom they worship) are NOT represented in Guild Wars 2 world lore.... they're there, but as to their origins, this remains a mystery. The dwarves are gone, but again, one can only conjecture as to what, or whom, they looked to as their Creator(s)....
Dwarves worshipped Great Dwarf, this is pretty clwar. They sometimes mention THe Five so they at least aknowladge their existance and had and order that worshipped and served Glint, dragon prophet.
+Bacon Tree pretty much, that's also how the charr and norn came to respect each other so much, one day while on a patrol a charr warband encounters a single norn, who proceeded to drive back the entire warband.
Well.. you've obviously not seen a GW cutscene where the player chars are locked but the minions keep bashing away at the invulnerable enemies while they talk casually... :P
+Drew Colpurs what do you mean they were outsourced? you mean like the dialogue/voice direction, etc etc? Because the actual cutscenes were all rendered in game.
I can't believe how much the story, the dialogue and the cinematics are better in this game than in Guild Wars 2. And I never played Guild Wars 1. How did Arenanet go from this to that crap we got in GW2? Whose idea was to make those crappy cinematics?
First time I watched this with my main: Vekk: "The Bookah's right." Me: "What did he just call me?" Vekk: "Me? Right now I'm your best hope on getting out of her alive, Bookah." Me: "Did he just call me that again? I swear I will kill him if he does it one more time."
my goodness, i forgot how awesome the cutscenes were in gw1... i never like the cut scenes in gw2 where only 2 people are facing each other and just talk...
yeah and it took an entire army and airships lol. in gw1 times the six divines were still present in tyria, so the average hero channelling their magic was far stronger, as were their enemies. if bloodstones keep exploding in gw2, maybe things'll change though
@@Masaru_kun If you're trying to justify it in lore, there's an answer. Go to the Hall of Monuments and talk to Micah Fergson. He says "Any skills I once taught pale in comparison to the power you wield, hero." On top of this, we know the ambient magic level in GW2 is higher than it was in GW1, even before the deaths of dragons/gods, or detonations of Bloodstones. The GW2 hero is explicitly, canonically, more powerful than the GW1 hero.
Precisely mate! I cannot agree more... it's just devastating how the story changed in GW2.. the gameplay and graphics are nice but the story.. the story... fell to the ground in my opinion..
Yes you can go talk to both of them on their little isle of solitude in the middle of a swamp. Ventari hasn't crafted the tablets yet but the tree is there and a small village around it with a few other random npc's.
I only now realised Vekk is also voiced by the brain from "Pinky and the Brain" XD Also, while playing eye of the north ages back, though never making it max rep, its cool to see these old cut scenes with more context now.
one of the drwarfs lives in the main durmand priory base in lornars pass i think, in gw2, you should visit him. i think it was ogden, and he's in stone.
That's exactly how it went at first. Then Jormag and his minions handed them their asses and they had to run away in shame for probably the first time in their history? The Norn interest in the Elder Dragons is about regaining their honor as much as saving the world, if not more so.
Yeah this is true :) I don't know how we gonna defeat the elder dragon zaitan in GW2, but may be the power to defeat zaitan is useless to defeat the gods ! Oh and i think that currently the gods doesn't care about what happen on earth, but this might change if they're getting really pissed off with all the "bystanders" in the hall of heroes/the mist.
In GW2 I found the Norn to be the least interesting race. Just giant humans with Viking inspired traditions. This actually does a better job at fleshing them out.
Euh actually there is still the lands of Cantha and Elona to explore. Furthermore there is 5 gods left (Abaddon was killed in GW nightfall), and some Mursaats from GW prophecies have survived. And you can count on the imagination of the developers to add more things into this vast universe. Oh and the Titans might be free once again (or was they all killed at the end of GW prophecies? I don't remember). Finally the Asura could simply fuck the whole Tyria with their insane inventions, haha
fair enough! But the thing is, didn't they once said that the elder dragons were even more powerfull then the gods? (can't remember the complete quote)
As the elder dragons are the greater evils in the world of tyria and GW2 is focused on defeating all of them. I doubt that there will be "lore" to build Guild wars 3 on. Well perhaps the actual guild wars themselves.
+Teofil “Amnail” Raicu don't forget that up until eye of the north, the charr were only ever seen as bad guys who destroyed ascalon (with the exception of like, one lone charr you run into in the realm of torment in nightfall)
Teofil Raicu there's still a lot of racism against charr in kryta, and vice versa with the charr vs humans in gw2. they have a very long history of not getting along and even people in the moar recent history oppose making peace. it's really interesting. very relateable to social issues in our own world as well.
