He used tactics of Helicopter punch with no telegraph in advance from above and wrap Manny all over made him ordinary not a legendary like he was before.
this guy is just great. The best footwork and timing i have ever seen unbelievable defense and counter ability, rigo is the best pure boxer in the game
Rigondeaux may just be one of the most technically excellent boxers I have ever had the privilege of watching. His balance, punch technique and jab are perfect. So sad that he will never get the recognition he deserves.
Rigondeaux's weaknes is that sometimes he gets overconfident with his defense, he gets intoxicated with it and then he gets caught, also he can be dropped easily (got dropped 4 times in 15 fights), so if he decides to move up in weight and he makes any mistake it could be good night for him. But of course he's a legendary fighter with unique talent!
+Ahmed Ismail In the Cordoba fight, that wasn't even a real knockdown. He jumped into a jab and was knocked off balance causing his glove to touch the canvas. He wasn't hurt or anything. He took a few flush shots from Donaire, and only went down once. He wasn't hurt bad. Against Amagasa, there was only one real knockdown there. He was tackled the second time. All those things happened against bigger opponents, Donaire and Amagasa outweighed him by 15+ pounds in the ring allegedly. He takes a good enough punch for what he does.
It's cause he's behind them standing square, and they whip around and punch him. I've only ever even seen him rattled once. We also should add he's been fighting champions, it's not like he's fighting d class fighters.
Just amazing to watch this Master of boxing. His masterly fights are too heavy for most people to understand and appreciated that's why some say he is boring. Rigo is the wonder of the boxing realm.
Mayweather picked his opponents he knew he would win. When he fought Oscar, Oscar was at then en of his career with5 or 6 losses.. But that not the point, the pound for pound undefeated champ was Tito Trinidad. Floyd never said nothing about him he just said am moving up to fight Oscar.. Then retires and comes back after Tito and Oscar leave..m Rigo is a real talent but their are better than him. He just happen to be one of the few to make it out of Cuba
Of course he wants none of Tito he had such a great jab and left hook and constant pressure every round floyd knew Oscar was bigger pay less risk plus floyd started at 122 u really think he can fight guys who are naturally 175 and not retire or take a break? Why u think his hands aren't any good anymore ? Why u think he defends more than attacks? Why u think only in Nevada can u use a banned substance that's illegal everywhere else? Why u think floyd only fights in Nevada?
dru713281 Because he's on top of his business. Why else? Tell me what boxer is in a better position? None.Thanks. Quit hatin anybody can write a hateful summery on another
El Chacal is something special. Him and Floyd are my favs but they have different styles. Rigo moves so fluidly and smooth. Punching on the move, using angles. Brilliant
I literally didn’t look at anything but his feet for the first 6 minutes, it’s so beautiful!! The balance, the way he pivots, the small steps back , the way he gets out of range but yet his feet stay the perfect distance apart 😲! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Well that´s pure BOXING ! the greatest boxer that i have ever seen.. period. that what he did to Donaire was amazing... made on of top 10 pound for pound boxers look like an amateur... i´m .... i... i cant even put it to words... JUST AMAZING. sad that people don´t understand what a God given talent this kid is to boxing... people just wanna see KO´s and people get hurt...
His movements spook the shit out of me. Its as if he sees punches coming at him in slow motion or something, and dodges them effortlessly. Fucking X gene shit right there.
MC donald The patronising tone was unneeded to be honest. Also Rigondeaux isnt exactly your average when it comes to his ability to read his opponent and avoid getting hit.
Pac is heavier than this guy and stronger. Pac would own him simply due to weight difference, Rig is 122 pacman fights in 147 or higher with tremendous speed as well.
yeon723 ""He's the best counterpuncher I've ever seen," Roach said of Rigondeaux, speaking by phone from his gym in Los Angeles. "When I did the pads with him, I simply could not get through his defense. I tried. I couldn't, though. "On his first day in the gym, he wanted to spar with Manny Pacquiao," Roach laughed. "I didn't allow it. I don't want Manny getting that kind of work in sparring. Manny is a bit big for him, but he's an offensive guy and with countering like that, he was more work than I needed. "He's one of the greatest talents I've ever seen," Roach said of Rigo. Then the trainer pauses, considering his words. "Probably the greatest talent.""
@peroxsigh I feel Roach was respecting Rig with that comment. Do you honestly feel in a full of fight that pacquiao wouldn't win? let's be honest here.
I think he has much better foot work than Pac and Rig would counter him all night long.Pac is prone to jump in with his punches and Rig would capitalise on that real quick, Would make a great fight though, cheers...
Rigo is my favorite boxer right now. IMO he is the best p4p boxer today. His footwork is amazing, he is always in the right position. And on top of all that he has exceptional hand speed. also IMO if paquiao was still a bantamweight Rigo would edge pacquiao out in decision and im a huge paquiao fan. Rigo vs Vasyl please make it happen!!
1 thing i like about Rigo that is never mentioned is how he doesn't move his legs unless he has to and there for conserves so much energy. Watch how he will move his legs slowly rather then feeling like he needs to hurry and move when he knows his opponent is in position, but to us it looks like he is in position to punch.
Thanks him for the footage first. People always wana talk shit while watching someone else footage. Appreciate it because it's here and STFU. You cian fly to where he is training and post your own first.
These guys since they were very young they started boxing, they trained with minimum 3 very strong guys of the same weight plus the others, they did conditioned sparring without power and basics everyday. The CUban champions sparred between them and with many champions from other countries that came there to train. Centro de alto rendimiento was an amazing school 8 years ago. Fencing is a compliment, they developed a great strategy. It s not a brawl, it s noble art
Rigondeaux's body movement looks so natural, but I guess the movement has been built up by a mix of long-term training from childhood and his natural-born physical gift.
i love how rigondeaux has a style that you just cant possibly train for. There is no possible way you can get a sparring partner to match what Rigo would bring to the table. Thats the kind of style that i aspire to have.
Rigondeaux has supernatural boxing ability. I don't really think he will be putting weight on, since he has been boxing at that weight for so long. Remember even though he is fairly new to the sport of pro boxing, the man has 400+ amateur fights, not to mention 2 Olympic Gold medals. I am excited to see where his future is headed, because it's always a pleasure to see a true master of sport.
Thats like me saying, if you have a debate with the politician you don't like or compete in a rap battle with the rappers you don't like, what will happen? Think before you let it flow, don't be a person that follows what everyone else is doing.
Look at Rigo absolute beast! Footwork, upper body movement, precise punching. How in the fook Loma completely outclassed him just baffles me, goes to show how good Loma is. Love both guys tho!
they are different fighters with different style of fighting.. doesnt make sense to compare. rigo is a more traditional technical boxer, hands up leads with the jab. mayweather is like a jack of all trades and master of all trades as well. he can beat you with any style. he can move if he wants or stand in the pocket or he can walk you down.. thats why he is the most complete boxer to ever do it in my opinion..
Well yes he did got hit a lot as his career progressed. He is known for being a tough guy, being able to take a lot punishment, especially the the Frazier fights. You cannot say he didn't got hit a lot, you just can't
