Sweet Lexi passed away today at the age of 8 from kidney failure. Thank you for all of your love and likes. Knowing that many of you came back over and over to see my little “guilty” baby warms my broken heart. You made her live on forever!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Every time my Lili does something bad, she does the same thing! And I always say, "so, you think playing like a... sausage link is gonna work out best for you?" now!! Lol
Lena Bean Submission does NOT equal fear. Dogs are submissive all the time without being afraid. Her body language does not say fear at ALL. Dogs can be submissive towards anyone they view as a leader just for the purpose of communication. Please stop spreading misinformation about dog behavior, thanks.
Kelsey Arenson - exactly. There's a helluva lot of ignorance on here. So many twits recommending actually hitting your dog as discipline. These people are just too lazy to train their dogs - and themselves - properly.
Actually, I believe wolfs in the wild press there ears against their heads and expose their vulnerable bellies as a sign of submission to the pack leader.
Hello my friends. Our sweet corgi Lexi has brought a smile to literally millions of you at this point and we couldn't be more grateful for the views. To know Lexie is to know that she is always at the top of the stairs to greet us and wants nothing more than to play, get tummy rubs and be your best friend. About a week ago she stopped eating and started sleeping more. We obviously became worried and took her in to the vet. After some blood work and an ultrasound it was determined that she has Cushing's Disease and Acute Kidney Injury. These both are no good and she is now in the hospital beginning treatment in hopes for a recovery. The doctors feel good that after some treatment she might be able to go back to a normal life. Please let this be true! Obviously this diagnosis and treatment is not without expense, and expensive it is. We are already into this $3,000 and more on the way. I know some of you might be wondering why I would ever put this much into a dog, while others of you may not even blink an eye at the thought. Several years ago we had a dog suddenly get very sick and we ended up in a situation where surgery was going to be around $3k. We were also told that there were very grim chances that it would work. After a heartbreaking conversation we chose to put our dog down. It has haunted me every since. I simply cannot do it again. I also believe that Lexi has several years of good life ahead of her. She's only 7! If you can help in anyway to offset this rather large bill, we would be forever grateful. We of course hope that we never have to do something like this again and we are hopeful through the doctor's prognosis that Lexi will have several more years of love to give and many belly rubs to receive!!! Thank you so much for your consideration, Love, The Andersens www.gofundme.com/f/lexi-needs-your-love?+share-flow-1
Dogs do that even if they aren't guilty, though. They're just trying to submit to appease your anger, most of the time they have no idea what they're being punished for.
+Elle Kelsheimer That's exactly right. Only when you catch the dog in the moment it will know what it did wrong. Also, a dog should be let dig, that's what it wants to do.
+iambehindthemirror except in strict guideline ruled suburbs with frequent code enforcement programs those pieces of shits won't even let me modify my fucking garage into a fucking game room, cause it'll affect the prices of all the houses in the area. That type of won't like the dogs doing that, and will fine you for it.
if the human has been letting them dig up the garden for years and then suddenly starts getting pissed then no they probably don't know what's going on but otherwise they're smarter than you give them credit for.
Saw lil Lexys' guilty video. She was such a cutie pie. So sad to read that she passed away. Losing a wonderful pet makes the heart ache so badly. I hope the joy of her memories brings a smile to your heart.
Kelly, I was so happy watching the video, and then I was unexpectedly reading the comment Greg said she had passed away. I'm now crying, devastated, oh my. It feels like she was my little baby, it's so sad to think about it. This must have been tough for you, Greg. 💔 I feel for you. Rest in peace little Lexi
I remember seeing this video when it first blew up, Lexi melted my heart. I had just gained my love for Corgis and seeing her acting guilty confirmed that they were indeed my favourite breed of dog. Fly high, little Lexi 💔
It’s actually very classic dog behavior. She can tell the alpha, her owner, is upset so she rolls over and shows her stomach to submit. I think that’s a good sign this guy is a great dog owner.
It's sad to hear she passed away, but I can see she had some really great happy moments together with you and your family.❤️ So cheer up, you've cared and loved her really well.
I thought I would also share this article. It sounds as though this Doctor Who did research on the emotions of dogs was misquoted and now it has became a common oversight. www.psychologytoday.com/blog/animal-emotions/201303/can-dogs-experience-guilt-pride-and-shame-why-not
***** I'm sorry to hear that. How did the dog die? I hope one of the misfits in your building didn't do anything to him. If they did, I hope they rot in hell.
You all are so sweet. I love your comments! Oh how I wish I didn't have a house full of stairs, but I do. On a good note though, I do have them on very healthy dog food and a new diet. Also, I take them to their vet for checkup's all the time. I love my Lexi and Roxy :)
That’s funny! I completely forgot about Denver but I’m sure that was my inspiration when I caught her digging. I think last I looked, Denver was at 56 million views! Got to love our little for babies!!
Owner: Why did you do that?? Corgi: Because I'm a Corgi, and besides herding, we also like to dig. By the way, Corgis also love belly rubs. Please rub my belly!!
Greg, I feel your pain at the loss of Lexi from kidney failure. I lost my adorable Bailey ( Corgi) at 7 yrs old from poison she ingested on a walk. The pain is always with us. Thank goodness for the great memories.
Lexi looks like a Twinkie with legs. 😂 Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry" is such a good song! She also was famous for singing "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree." She was only thirteen when she recorded it!
Just watched your vids. What a couple of cute marshmallows!! Now just so you know, Lexi watched the two videos with me and she couldn't get enough of them! She had her head all turned to the side with the curiosity look that dogs give! She love's watching videos with other corgis! Hilarious!!
Laying down and exposing the belly is dog language for "I submit to you. You are the pack leader. I am so beneath you I will let you attack my defenseless belly." This is pretty much universal canine behavior. Lexi here probably doesn't know specifically that tearing up the grass was bad, but she knows that you, the Alpha, are angry with her.
Very true. What is very important to know is how much I love my dogs. This was the first time she had ever shown her "submission" and I just had to film it. While I do like them to know that I am the alpha, they know that I care for them deeply. As soon as she got inside I assure you she was smothered with the love and kisses such a sweetheart deserves! Thanks for watching :)
Greg Andersen Oh, I didn't mean to say I felt you were terrorizing the poor thing. I just wasn't sure if you understood the body language. She's adorable. I love animals, and I especially love corgis. Had one growing up. Such wonderful dogs.
Greg Andersen - oh, we can see you love them to pieces. And it's great that you speak her language: you accepted her gesture of submission as an apology. Then you moved on: snuggles, cuddles and belly rubs!
Judi O'Regan - Sure digging up the yard is not preferable. But how can one honestly not forgive that darling face and sweet posture? The little sweetie made a mistake. It happens to best of us. ;)
She is not playing sausage, she is showing you her softest and most vulnerable spot (stomach) to show submission. This is very common in dog body language when dog does that to avoid fighting with another dog.
