from what I heard is that Sin's gear power was too powerful for Sin to handle either at his age or at all. And as a solution to this: They took Ky's eye and replaced Sin's left eye with Ky's, they also did the same for Ky, putting sin's eye in his left socket. The main purpose of the whole procedure was so that Sin wouldn't be an actual walking nuke, though Ky having dragon install is a neat side effect

The only reason sin says that is because ky and dizzy didn't want to tell him how babys are made. It's not how sin was actually born. Ky took sins eye because sin was to powerful

They’re either his sisters in law if you count them as Justice’s daughters or his aunts if you count them as Justice’s sisters. Ramlethal seems to believe the former and Elphelt the latter.

Actually no; the idea is that Sin's left eye was removed and replaced with Ky's left eye. So the eye we see uncovered with Sin is actually Ky's human eye, and the right eye under his eye patch is his Gear eye. Gears have a rune that marks them as such, and there's some concept art that shows Sin's Gear symbol is on his eye. Assuming all this is true to canon, it can be inferred that Sin's original eyes both bore his Gear symbol, and in order to allow him to hide his true nature without having to live blind with both of his eyes covered all the time, Ky made the swap so his son could have a normal eye to see out of. Presumably, Ky's many years of experience honing and controlling magic as testament by his lightning abilities allowed him to suppress the powers of Sin's Gear eye and hide the symbol, with its nature only coming out when he releases those powers.
