They apparently filmed the De Lancie cameo while wrapping up shooting for Season 2. That's why they were able to get it in. Wish they'd done that with Guinan too.
Was I the only one who felt it was wrong that season 3 doesn’t even have O’Brien In it? Especially in the episode where they arrived back onto the Enterprise D? I get that maybe Colm Meaney didn’t want to reprise his role but still…. I felt it’s kinda off because: - He was in the 1st episode in TNG and several other episodes. - Molly was delivered by Worf himself. - He fought along side with them on the Enterprise in TNG before his departure and fought alongside with Worf on DS9 in season 4 to 7 - He had a farewell scene with Picard in season 1 of DS9. Which signifies that he made a good impression with Picard.
Its tough, I think a lot of characters could have been great to bring back. Wesley obviously didn't make sense due to how he was portrayed in Season 2 not to mention his relationship with his mother and Picard might have stepped on the toes of the story they were trying to tell. But I personally missed his presence despite that, obviously Guinan should have been in at least this scene, Barclay would have been nice to see return too though I am uncertain how they would best fit him in. But yeah I would O'Brien was certainly high on the list for me too.
Considering his immortalization as permanent transporter chief + most important person in the history of ever (LD: Boimler Effect), I think it's really sad that he isn't the one who figured out how to un-borg people with the Transporter.
It would have been nice but at that point why not get in Tasha Yar and Wesley and Dr Pulaski At least O'Brian and Yar got to come back for all good things The way I look at picard season 3 was that it was a fair well to the main 7 characters (8 including the ship) which the movies didnt do well at all
To be fair, she’s a walking political mess they probably didn’t want to work with. I know all actors and actresses have their opinions, but she’s a freak with serious mental issues.
As much as she loves Star Trek, Whoopi's not doing free cameos for a $30 billion conglomerate, just because they set the budget too low even to have Michelle Forbes for one more day to show Ro surviving.
No. Guinan wasn't needed. This was all about the final poker game. Though I'm glad we got Ro and Q. Obviously Tasha couldn't come back. And I think I know why they never brought Janeway back (EVEN though she would've made MUCH more sense than having Tuvok).
Mostly its they ran out of money - the only reason they got Walter Koenig as a VA is he's Todd Stashwick's neighbor so they ran over to his house with a mic.
They sort of did Laris dirty but at least she was acknowledged. And maybe we'll find out that Picard did return to her to begin his true retirement. I doubt he rekindled things with Beverly since it's clear that despite their mutual feelings, they can't sustain a long term relationship
