It's no use commenting negative things on my guinea pig's care. He unfortunately passed away several years ago after a bladder stone removal surgery in which he did not recover from. Thank you

I hate that most of these people probably clicked on this video to leave an ugly comment. I just want you to know this was super helpful for me! I live in a tiny home with my guinea pig and we are super happy together. He has a cage about this size, and he chills out with me all day while I work from home. He was territorial when I got him from the pet store and they advised me not to get another pig, so don’t always believe that they won’t be happy. People try to guilt trip you. My guinea pig is super happy 😊

Okay I don't mean to be negative or rude but Guinea pigs can actually get extremely depressed if they don't have at least one other guinea pig with them even your human companionship is never enough and that cage is way too small guinea pigs are really expensive 95% of Guinea Pigs don't do very well on their own once they have previously bonded with another guinea pig and need to have at least one friend and Believe it or not, guinea pigs can most definitely die of loneliness. This is especially true if a pair has bonded and one suddenly dies. Without its partner, the surviving guinea pig can become depressed, stop eating and exercising and eventually die of loneliness (also I'm so sorry your guinea pig passed away rip poor baby 😕)

It seems like you are using cedar or wood shavings for bedding which is really bad for guinea pigs. I suggest fleece or paper sherds

I have some suggestions for you 1. I cant tell from here but I think your bedding is cedar which is really bad for your piggy. If you want wood shavings please use aspen and nothing else. 2. Their should be two or more pigs in a cage so they are not lonely. 3. The cage is too small. The minimum cage size is 7.5 square feet

@@2bebitos that's what you may think, but guinea pigs don't show it. They need a buddy for their activity and enrichment. Guinea pigs learn new things off other guinea pigs. My piggy learnt how to drink water from a bottle from his buddy. It is really important that they have a friend.

The biggest issue is that they’re posting a video using the small cage, with no obvious disclaimer. People who don’t know better might think that the cage is okay, even though it’s not. It doesn’t matter if they are in a bigger cage now. This video is still up and people are still watching it and being influenced by it.

This is bedding and it provides a soft and comfy surface for the biggie to walk on. It's also absorbent so it absorbs the pee.

@@PiggieTime this cage that they are using is the worst for Guinea pigs, and the bedding that they are using is not good. Wood does not absorb anything. They need to use paper instead. And they also need to get a Midwest cage. And they also need to get their Guinea pig a friend because Guinea pigs are very social animals and need friends.

Hi thegreatpetshop I just wanted to let you know that your cage is a bit too small and maybe you could try to switch to a c&c grid cage or a MidWest cage for Guinea Pigs also when you cage up your Guinea Pig in that small carrier he is not getting any exercise and maybe instead of that you could give him floor time I hope you find this comment helpful I and trying to help not hate

I'm gonna be honest, I've been researching and guinea pigs don't live alone. But do you know what? If I get my guinea pigs I have to have one then after a few weeks when I learn how to take care of one, I can have another one. Most people can't have a piggie because a guinea pig and their supplies altogether are very expensive, and parents can't buy another piggie straight away, please stop hating because that's the truth.

If you can't get him a friend then give him to someone else who can. Guinea pigs are herd animals and in the UK it's even illegal to own just one pig because it's actually animal abuse to have just one. That's how serious it is. I can tell by reading the comments you have a serious attitude. Get over yourself and get him a friend and a bigger cage or find him a new home!
