I taught one of my piggies to do a trick. It only took 2 days. She has learned to hop over my hand. I've also taught her how to stand on her back legs, stand on my hand, run in a circle, and give me a high five. She is learning so fast
Ahh I also say bless you when my pigs sneeze. I thought that was just me being weird 😂 wow I didn’t realise so many people said bless you to there pigs 😂
I honestly don’t regret buying a pet store cage. I’m so sad that I kept my piggies in it, but it’s been super helpful for when I need to separate a piggie. We have two small cages that we connect together to form an okay temporary setup.
Same, why I got my piggy’s I bought a medium cage but then they became to fat to properly move and I didn’t want to get rid of it so I bough a big one and attached a tunnel, so basically it’s a big cage with a tunnel leading up to a sleeping area. And btw they aren’t to fat any more caus of the tunnel XD
Sylvester really really loves you! He took the tiniest bite in the history of Guinea pigs, of that awful forage just for you. He even sniffed it twice more. But the look on his face said everything! 😁😂🤣
I actually was working at my local church garage sale, where people were donating their old stuff they don't want for the church to sell for a fundraiser. Thankfully, I was one of the people sorting items that were coming in, so when I found a bag of guinea pig stuff, I was able to throw away the items that were dangerous for guinea pigs, including a guinea pig ball and a harness. I was so mad to see those items, and I could not allow them to be sold to someone who did not know better (or worse, didn't care)
Hiii, im not really sure what I could use for a guinea pig "cage" and since im on a tight budget I was wondering if you knew what I could use thats cheap plus big!!
@@omega_acxd You could get the Midwestern Guinea Pig cage on Amazon (It's only good for 2 guinea pigs AT THE ABSOLUTE MOST!) but you can buy 2 and attach them to make it bigger or you can make a C&C Cage (Coroplast and Cube Cages) The Midwestern is the minimum size for a 2 guinea pig cage so i would suggest buying 2 and attaching them if you choose that option. It's very difficult to find a big enough guinea pig cage for cheap though. How many guinea pigs do you have? And may i ask what your budget is?
@@Chloe-mj1rx Im wanting two guinea pigs and im going to use a cnc cage. I dont have a real budget, but cheap as possible is great. The problem is: I dont have enough space in my room for a guinea pig cage and I have dogs. So, im not going to say im getting them, just hoping I do.
The fleece blankets were a mess for us, too. Then we discovered adding about a 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar to the laundry when washing them will get rid of the urine smell. Works wonders. Plus we got some Wheeky bags to keep hay & stuff from filling our washer. And we use GuineaDad cage liners now so cleaning is so much easier!
Just did some research on the coconut chew toy, and this is what it says exactly; "As you can see coconut contains quite a bit of phosphorus, has quite a lot of acidic content, contains some sugar, but has a lot of fat. Taking all this into account, coconut is not a great food for guinea pigs to eat. In fact, it's one for them to avoid if possible." So no, coconut flakes is not good for guinea pigs, just thought you should know even though this video is kinda old and you probs already found out -w-
When I was getting treats in the piggie box subscription they would send things with coconut in it and I tried it and my oldest piggies had mushy poo from it. It causes them to have upset stomach and diarrhea so don't feed it.
I lost my guinea pig friend this Febuary. He was 8 ... im still kinda sad but he had to go. Your videos making me cheer up and looking foward for possibility of giving another guinea pig a space in my heart. Thank you for doing this videos !
Any pet store guinea pig toy ever. My guinea pigs were happier pushing around a ball of newspaper and playing in cardboard boxes and Quaker oatmeal tube tunnels (the bottom and plastics removed). (Some of it is personality I guess but those pet store products were rly expensive for 0 use).
Now I know what not to buy :D I love your piggys so much and they are so cute! They are so lucky to have an owner or human like you :) #TakeCareOfYourPiggysRight
Thank you so much for doing these videos they really helped me when I got my guinea pigs! I have watched ur videos for a long time And I really enjoy them!
I love your channel so much! I’m preparing to get 2 guinea pigs in hopefully less then a week! today I ordered a 2x4 c&c cage with a 2x1 loft! Your channel has been so helpful for me and I’ve learnt a lot guinea pigs!
I bought that bag of hay as substrate and paid £4 after I found a local farmer. Great advice and my piggies are happy. You can also buy Hay bags to keep hay dry. My guys didn't like forage. They prefer hay. Loved cucumber 🥒 and fresh veg. Always weak for that. I bought all kinds from Amazon and tried it. Then stuck with the products they like. They loved the apple sticks, the meadow hay cookies 🍪
Guinea pigs can eat coconut just not to much but I do love how you don’t just go for it always make sure that they can eat it before giving it to them.🥰
A few products I wasted money on was compact cubes of timothy hay, a similar hay rack like the blue one she showed (mine is thicker plastic), baked hay treats, and rose hips. My guinea pigs wouldn't eat the cubes and don't dare going near the rose hips. The hay rack with the pellet bowl bottom was neat and sturdy, but they couldn't get much of the hay out if it. Plus, a lot of hay got stuck in the bottom where no one could reach without taking the metal fence off. Plus, my one piggy is picky with treats, but the other one is decent with them.
I get those small packages as well for a Euro. I love them. I take them out and fluff them up in a box (mine amount to 30 L and that lasts about a week with 5 piggies and fresh veggies). I made my own hay rack ... 75 wide, 35 high, 5 to 15 cm deep. Refill needed once per day, partial. I got fed up with refilling the hay racks all the time.
I purchased one of those plastic tunnels that you can extend or shrink. One of my boys loved to chew on it and I think it's what eventually ended up killing him. I think he was swallowing pieces of it every now and then, and they built up in his stomach. Eventually he stopped eating and the vet said his stomach was hard to the touch and didn't feel right. I don't have proof it was the plastic tunnel that caused this, but I don't give my guinea pigs anything plastic anymore, or anything that they can't chew on and pass through their system safely.
I regret buying these small (guinea pig safe) plastic balls they never used them and they were just a waist of money and space. Love all of your guinea pigs
I got in a accident 30 minutes ago with my piggies and I was holding there carrier and the car hit us from behind and me and the guineas went forward but thank god the carrier was griped to my hand. I was scared they where hurt but thank god they are good. their cage is a little broken but I’m just happy they are good🙌🏻 I brought them to a Fourth of July party then after the party on are way home that happened😓 so I’m distracting myself on RU-vid and saw you uploaded a video💜
my favorite thing to use as a hay feeder is the snakshak log. I stuff the hay inside, and they have to dig it out to eat it. And I know that the material snakshak logs are made from is not super great for your pig to ingest, but for the strangest reason, neither of my pigs has any interest in chewing on it! I always check it for marks, and they just aren't interested! but they do like the hay.
I loved your video ❤️ I love you Julia at the end of this video how Gatsby gone into ur hallway she a cheeky little guinea pig and I love all of your Guinea pigs they are all so well mannered
When I first got my Guinea pigs I got them these chew toys that I really thought they would want. Turns out they only wanted one of the toys I got them and the others became bedding cause they just never used them
Although piggies do like chewing plastic I build hidey's out of fresh water grade pvc pipe, the stuff you use for household plumbing. It is round, so they can't chew it, it is easy to build with,, it is lightweight and it can easily be cleaned.
I regret buying that pellet/hay rack as well! The boys don’t share space very well lol I’m also sad that I can’t find treats that both of them like! We tried pea flakes (a no-go), a few different new veggies, and the fruit filled cushions from Rosewood and so far only one is an adventurous eater. My smaller piggy is picky!
When I first got Guinea pigs I got a very small cage and only one Guinea pig but I have learnt from you and others and now my pigs have a 2 x 5 C and C cage and tons of Timothy hay :)
I live in Hawaii. Guinea pigs can have fresh coconut. Idk about dried but I wouldn't see why not? My vet said it's the same as any fruit but to keep in mind coconut is a natural laxative so to give it in very small amounts. It will maybe cause soft poops but I haven't noticed that in my girls when I let them try fresh coconut from our tree.
My guinea pig doesn't really like forage that often. At least not the small packet that I got. He also doesn't like the treat ball- ball you fill with treats that much. When its empty he will occasionally push it around
I regret buying my Guinea pigs small petstore cage that my dad made me buy but now we are building them a big Two storie cage out of my old dogs kennel
There's an advertisement on Facebook (Guinea Pigs +) that's using footage from your videos of your piggies, wanted to let you know because I'm not sure if they got permission from you to do so.
With coconut not sure about eating chunks/flakes but I know it’s at least not toxic since people use coconut oil on skinny pigs because they can lick off any extra later, unlike other oils
I brought these foam puzzle pieces I’ve seen a few people get! So I got them! I regret it so much! They take up so much room in my cupboard and I don’t use them as they chew it and peed all over them
I did a quick Google search about the coconut on the star. It looks like coconut is not toxic for GPs but is high in fat and phosphorus. So it's good you thought twice before feeding it to them.
Hello I’m a huge fan and I love you’re piggies so much I would love one but I don’t feel responsible enough and you’re videos help with information for New Guinea pig owners ❤️
I also wasted a lot of money to buy many different hay bags from the pet store and amazon before buying hay from a farm store. Just $16 and the hay will last over 6 months for my guinea pigs. So happy. Now I just have one trouble with the bedding. The bedding is too expensive. $25 a bag. I wish I could use the rug like you. I am afraid of the hair of guinea pigs stuck in the washing machine and dryer. I am allergy with pets' hairs.
