The guinea pigs swim on their own accord. My bathtub is sloped, and it is shallow at one end and deeper at the other. And the guinea pig swim around, I do not force them to swim.
@@huxleylucy-gi6zh Not snowflake. Just being educated on guinea pigs, or animals in general... They're terrified. They're not thinking they're safe because there's a shallow side
Just because they know how to swim does not mean they enjoy it whatsoever. Water is a huge huge huge fear for guinea pigs. This is heavy stress for them. Please, never ever do this again. Just because they are instinctive swimmers does not mean they like it at all. They only do it if they really really have to IN THE WILD. In domestic life, they shouldn't have to worry about this. Plus, everytime you have to give them a proper bath, they will get more than normally stressed because of stuff like this. Please please please do better.
Noo omg this stresses me out they can be that deep for water! They have to be able to stand up even if they can swim they hate it so much those guinea pigs are thinking about then drowning or falling can't you see them struggling??
Why stress them out unnecessarily? Yes they are able to swim, but it doesn’t mean they’re not scared and stressed in that bathtub. Seeing no way out and water levels too high to stand, they’re forced to swim
My piggies swim without any problem and have access to a kiddy pool via a ramp, so when they wish to swim while I supervise they can. They absolutely go of their own accord often and enjoy it.
This is honestly sickening and scary for a piggy owner. They don't have stamina forever, and that can really cause damage to their health. It gave me so much anxiety seeing this
@@Christina-yl7cv welp that's a shame. Doesn't matter how many times people can say it, it's a comment section for a reason, and someone like you won't stop us. We all have the same opinion on the behavior in the video. Since most of us have the same opinion and want it addressed, we will comment about it. End of discussion.
please don’t do this! You can fill the tub with a tiny bit of water, enough that they can stand.. Edit: it can also dry up fur and skin! It also may get into ears, it can cause infection!
DONT EVER DO THIS TO YOUR GUINEA PIGS ALWAYS MAKE IT FEET HIGHT WHEN YOU GIVE THEM A BATH GUINEA PIGS ARE VERY SCARED OF WATER AND THEY ARE TRYING TO ESCAPE
Whoever is running this channel keeps putting their guinea pigs in danger. This is very sickening. I cannot believe someone like them can own guinea pigs.
@@Zomka they’re even trying to convince other people to make their Guinea pigs swim, I made a comment about them then they replied with an advertisement for their Guinea pig swimming lessons, they’re heartless and just want to make money off of torturing their guinea pigs
they are actually swimming for their lives, they are not swimming for fun, they can be very scared in the water, they have no idea of what's going on aswell.
NOOO please don't do this! It can make them really stressed and water can get into there ears can cause so infections and a vet visit is not cheap! So please don't it's best to bathe them in a sink.
About guinea pigs Why are guinea pigs so special? In addition to being easy to care for, they're a lot of fun! Known for their gentle nature, guinea pigs are often very social animals with a lot of character. As owners of guinea pigs like to point out, they also have an interesting way of communicating with squeaks and chirping noises meant to convey emotion. Why are guinea pigs so happy? Guinea pigs are social creatures and are often happiest when they have other piggies to socialise with. Without their own friend to live with, guinea pigs can become quite lonely and ultimately can impact their overall health. Do guinea pigs like music? Technically, there isn't really any scientific research to support whether or not guinea pigs like music. However, some guinea pig parents have said that they were able to calm their guinea pigs down by playing calm, relaxing music for their guinea pigs.
Please redact the easy to care for statement it’s very misleading getting a proper setup going is well over 200$ let alone the food cost and vets are 200-500 dollars since their exotic pets😅
Most guinea pigs can swim. But they usually do it for their lives. They hate swimming. They get confused when they're put in water and gets scared so that's why they start swimming. Please never do this to your piggies. It's awful
It's also really unhealthy in general. You should only clean them when you absolutely have to and you don't have to put them in a bathtub like this for cleaning them. For example when our guinea pigs got old they sometimes were dirty on their butts so we rinsed it off. That's it.
It ain’t good for guinea pigs to swim in water, but to most of y’all hating on it you don’t really know if he’s guinea pigs like to swim or not you don’t even know his guinea pigs that well just by the channel so they actually might love swimming, even though it’s just an instinct
Ok yes they can swim BUT it's stress for them and they don't do this for fun. why is youtube showing me so many videos about people treating their piggies like that?! It's depressing
@@anashahid4124 Ok. Then tell me what makes you think they like this? Because I've had guniea pigs for a really long time so I do know a tiny bit about them and prey animals trapped in water that they can't get out of on their own does NOT sound very good.
Yes, they are adorable, but please don’t do this! It is good to bathe them once a year and when you do so make sure it’s either in the sink or just with really really shallow water they get really scared in water, that’s why they swim around because they’re trying to find an escape
I showed this to my mom and then she said that I could give my guinea pig a bath in a big bath tub I was happy usually my guinea pig jumps out and gets water everywhere in the sink but now she loves bath and is excited for them
If you put a human baby in the water you would be surprised how well they can swim as babies have rudimentary skills left in their behaviour, which gets lost over time. I suggest to not put your Guinea pigs in the water as it can stress them a lot.. You can even notice that on the video as they are mostly clinging to the sides.. Speaking from experience here, my baby cousin wanted to give a bath to one of her guineas, its heart couldnt bare it and unfortunately passed away. To anyone wanting to correct me. They can swim, but choose not to.
@@keshawncobb1910 It’s not a hate comment people who comment like this are trying to help the Guinea pigs, bathing them is horrible for their skin and fur, not to mention the stress even in the video you can see them trying to get out
@@Misscouchpotato-honestly you can clean your guinea pigs but you're not really supposed to. Unless they look absolutely disgusting 🤢 swimming they don't really like it but some of them can enjoy it. It may look deep yeah but not really though because one side is lower and the other side is higher
If you’re giving your piggies a bath, it is best to keep the water low so the pigs don’t have to swim for their lives.yes, they can swim, but they should only have to do it if they really need to.
So the truth about letting guinea pigs swim is as long as they have an area to stand it is ok and the water level is 4/5 their body height it is ok this looks to be slightly more but more importantly they need a place they can stand place a mat or a have an incline they can go up and get out of the water if needed. I know it is very cute when they swim but having an area they can get out of the water will make them feel alot safer. : )
Abuse! Don’t do this! Their heart rate will go up because they deal like they are going to die. I actually made this mistake, later I found out it was harmful and I still feel bad to this day. (Don’t worry he is a happy and healthy piggie!)
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOUR GUINEA PIGS SWIM! they do know to how to swim but they’re put under a lot of pressure and stress. when you bathe your guinea pigs, only fill the water in the bath/sink/etc. about one inch so that they don’t have to swim. hope this helped!
No no no no As I have Guinea pigs myself that Is not nice Poor little things fighting for their lives Not supposed to put them in water unless in need of a bath
Just so you know I have guinea pigs and I know that they don't like being in deep water. While having baths or anything make it nice and shallow from them to be able to touch the bottom it will be perfect for them.
Please don’t do this! It’s super stressful. Just because they can swim doesn’t mean they like it. Also if watet gets in their ears, it can cause and infection. Also, they aren’t swimming for fun, they’re swimming for their lives! Please don’t do this again. And if you are, make it where they can stand without struggle. Never do this again!
I'm sorry to one of those people but, you shouldn't be doing this. Sure, there pretty good swimmers. But they only do this to escape. They are stressed out when they swim. I have my own little fluffy potato, and I know this is bad for them. If they need a bath, do this in the summer or in warm temperatures and rinse them with warm water in a sink. the water level should stay at belly fur level. Use pet friendly shampoo and rinse it off after scrubbing. Just a warning from experience, but the piggy might try and jump out and make a giant mess! Please, please, please don't make the floofs swim!
@Indre Skirmantaite Do your research, Guinea pigs clean themselves with their tongue, this can also cause stress, ear infections, dry skin, ruined fur, and more, a quick google search will inform you.
Nice! Be sure not to put them in water though, this video lied saying Guinea pigs are good swimmers, they can swim but it stresses them out a lot and makes them have long term dry skin and dry fur.
@@MyOwmMiniZoo soo first I got two boy ones and I named them bear and cookie dough and then two days after that I got two more two girls and I named them Pepsi and cookie
They are fighting for their lives and even though you may be smiling they're terrified. If you watch this video theyare trying to find a way to escape. Let them out!!
Please don’t to this, I own guineapigs and I can see that the guineapigs in the videos are stressed out, you don’t need to give guineapigs baths because they clean themselves. If they need a bath here is how you should do it instead of stressing them out and causing damage to them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B-1EHZaUc7Q.html
My guinea pigs are actually highly trained professional swimmers this year. They are planning on going to the guinea pigs swimming Olympics. They have been attending guinea pig swimming lessons for the past year in the next coming year, the guinea pigs will be learning the breaststroke. If you would like to enroll your guinea pigs in swimming lessons, please comment back.
