Euge is really over here making the exact kind of content that beginner and improving guitarists and those getting into recording need to know. No obnoxious clickbait, no endless shilling for products and sponsor of the week videos, just making amazing content taught in a clear and easy to understand way. I really want Euge to know how much I appreciate his channel
Gday! So apart from, where at the start of every video you casually say "Hi....I.m Euge Valovita" which by the way, to my Australian ears is just the coolest f#$%ing intro ever, everything else you do comes a very close second. You are one of the very few where the spirit of your generosity of knowledge shines through every single time! and a top tier guitarist to boot, thanks mate!
Absolutely fantastic video! Playing guitar for more than 15 years, and still sitting with my guitar and trying those cool recommendations! Thanks Euge!
This might be the best and easiest to understand explanation of major/minor chords I have ever seen. Would be really cool if you shared more educational content on your channel, Euge.
That’s so true, try to learn something new everyday. My father was always telling me to keep learning to your mind sharp. Same goes with playing guitar. Well said brother!
Your reviews are the finest , and these lesson type videos from a guitar player to a learning guitar player are just what the Doctor ordered !!! I'm not sure why you decided to reach down to the beginning or intermediate players , but glad you did . .You are good at it as well . . . peace
Your awesome , absolutely love your videos and the stuff you write just resonates with me , Ive only ever been a vocalist but in the last 3 years I decided to learn to play so I could write to have something to sing to because I have had long stints with no band through my life and not being able to do music sucks. you make songs on your videos that I would kill to do as a vocalist but I don't and have never had a guitarist that writes and shreds like you do. what's funny is I don't think those are songs you use in the bands you play in either from what Ive heard but Ive seen old videos of yours bands when you did covers and you rip that 80's metal flawlessly so I believe it to be in your blood and in your heart, it shows on the RU-vid videos to me anyway. I'll definitely hit you up for some Skype lessons I just need to get a camera for my pc's. Thanks for what you do
Really great video lesson! In less than 30 minutes, you packed a lot of essential information into this video! The way you explain it and show it on the guitar makes it easy to understand. Most of this info I already knew, but it was a nice refresher course for me. Thanks for the video! I hope you can do more videos like this in the future!
Great beginner lesson! I totally agree about tabs. It's like teaching a parrot to talk. The parrot dont really get it. But hey! 52 letters in the alphabet? More like 28 in scandinavia 🤓 Please make more beginner/intermediate stuff !! You rock!
Even though I've been playing for a long time I really enjoyed this lesson. It's interesting to hear you describe the basics. I've also just started teaching my son to play, so it's good to know what to show him.
Wish we had this 25 years ago, and I learned better; I made a video cassette in 97 supposedly teaching how to have a teaching practice without any real training, taught some questionable things and tab and bombed, did not really know what I was doing, went into a dark period, wrecked my truck, flipped it over, drunk, never played professionally, was young dumb and playing in the bedroom. I hope whoever got a hold of that throws it away, how embarrassing to me. As always, excellent session.
You can speedup notes calculation by know how build octaves from any string. If you hit some unknown place try build octave from it to lower or upper string which you better know. The rules simple +12 to get octave on same string, +7 octave on next string, +2 octave when skip 1 string. There some exceptions for some string where you should add +1 to get octave, but this the easiest way to find note if you know only notes on one string and play in standard tuning
Though I learned all this a very longtime ago, often encountered teachers that acted as if they were some great arrogant oracle This is no stress easy to understand for beginners Well done Euge
Nice one. At the beginning I went after every cool riff for years and years without stopping to learn this stuff (or to keep time...). It sure was fun but oh god if i just started with this stuff. My guitar life would have been so much easier 😂
Great video again Euge! One idea while on the basics topic - Would be great to hear your gear suggestions for a beginner/intermediate guitarist, something that doesn't break your bank (Affordable amp, guitar, overdrive etc to get started). I know you say that the sound mostly comes from your hands though ;)
Good thing; I'm a bit more worried about the solo sections... I watched some attempts at clarification, but they take so long that I even forgot why I watched all those videos. It's different with you, slow and interesting.
Euge, maybe you've mentioned this in another video but how high is the action on your guitars? I know you said you like to really dig in the notes when you play so I'm curious how high/low you've got the strings.
I set the string height based on feel. No idea about any measurements just where it feels comfortable to play the way I play with a particular guitar. But in general the lower the tuning the heavier the strings, the higher the action etc.
Agreed! My teacher taught me Country Girl (Black Sabbath), Too Late For Love (Def Leppard) and Sleeping My Day Away (D.A.D). Now that I think about it, he actully reminds me a lot of Euge, being a seasoned rocker! 😀
