Guitar Effects - Delay Pedals - Line6 DL4 Delay Modeler - Marty's Gear Thursday 

I've been with you since the start of my guitar career and I'm glad to see youre still making videos. Your lessons really helped push me forward in times I almost gave up on playing guitar. When I first started watching your videos I was playing an awful Wal-Mart guitar that couldn't even stay in tune, these days I'm playing on a Duesenburg D-Caster, Telecaster and Gibson ES335. I'm not sure I would still be playing guitar today if it weren't for your generosity on youtube. Thank you for helping me realize one of the greatest beauties in life... the guitar. The guitar has changed my life and opened up doors for me that I never expected to see open... and the ladies love it too. Thanks-a-million Marty! Rock on brother, I wish you the best in all of your endeavors .

Good review. I've seen those but never had an opportunity top try one. Didn't know they did that many things. It's funny that you can try any boss pedal at the store on their demo rack, but many pedals like this one, are kept locked behind glass displays.

Hey there fellow freaker by the speaker, I was curious what types of delays you used for the first two presets? Analog Delay or Tape Echo? I use one of these with my acoustic. And cool little fact, there is an expression pedal that can expand the presets to 6 on this gem. Thanks in advance.

I see there's an input for an expression pedal. What parameters would that control? Im looking to be able to control the delay time and get those crazy pitch shifting sounds with my foot while I'm playing a lead. Much like what Fredrik Thordendal did on his "Special Defects" album and later in Meshuggah.

So this looks cool. I see quite a few pro bands gigging with these so they seem sturdy enough. Does this unit let you "stack" delays so I can eliminate pedals. Take "Time" by Pink Floyd. Can I run a nice smooth delay during the song and then switch to a deeper delay for the solo by witching channels? It's truly what I am looking for. Thanks for the cool videos. I'm also looking at the TC Electronics delay as well.

Hi Marty. Just taking slight issue here. The Beatles were doing backwards guitar effects in 1955 on songs such as I'm Only Sleeping and Tomorrow never Knows. True, Hendrix used backwards effects to their fullest effect, but he wasn't the first.

Some of those effects reminded me of Montrose/Gamma. SpaceStation#5 meets RazorKing

Bought one of these back in 07. Sold it and it was the dumbest thing ever. Have to get it back.

So many settings on this pedal that could have been explored in this demo but were ignored in favor of the settings we’re all familiar with. A wasted opportunity!

I swear by the dl4. There is nothing like it in its class. Why doesn't the mod change throughout your vid? Dman it!! I came here to find different settings to play with.

Don't buy this pedal !!! Unless its brand-new .... its sounds good ..... but older ones will die unexpectedly ... and if you have to buy a new replacement board it will cost 119 that Line 6 must install themselves and charge extra to repair on top ! Not even a month and mine is dead ... I should have known better then to buy Line6 products

No offense, but you are not a knob tone tweaker at all. Here’s a basic, you rareoh/never turn your knobs that fast. The point is to gradually increase or decrease, not to mention finding a sweet tone. Did any of the tones you did sound good to you? Let’s hope not. Stick to playing straight blues cause you’re kinda out of your depth when out of your box.

It's really easy to use? How dare you. But I hope this tutorial helps. Tweak and Tweez can burn in hell. This pedal has no display to tell you what is going on...needs it's own power source...and takes up 4 spaces on your pedal board! Cost more than the Boss, or the Zoom MS-70CDR, doesn't do more or sound better, and has many, many totaly stupid unusable sounds. I hate you line 6 I hate you! 🤣🤣
